It's always followed with a second first name like John Mark, John Lloyd, John Dale, John Carlo etc. Jared is also a widely used Filipino name, which could be a standalone name compared to John which is always paired with something else.

Everyone but John has the Filipino sound when they speak. It was not the accent coz everyone has the american accent but it was more of the sound that would make him different among them. I can't really eaplain in words, but every time i talk to a kababayan regardless of the accent, there's this certain sound that could help me identify a filipino or not.

To be fair, they're more Americanized, than being a Filipino. They only embrace the good things that Filipino are proud of, but not the negative ones. What's more annoying is, that they try to profess what a Filipino is, without being fully immersed in the culture.
