    David, love your videos! I live in Rhode Island when can i expect that I could purchase echinaceas in my local nursery or garden center? Thanks!

    • @OverdevestNurseries
      @OverdevestNurseries  Год назад +2

      Thanks, we have fun making them and it is nice to know that they are being appreciated.
      Like quite a few native perennials, Coneflowers need the warm weather to get going, and since people like to see them in flower as nice, big plants, coming into flower its going to be (I expect) early summer (at the earliest) with most of them kicking in sometime June and then the choicer newer vars coming a little later again.
      So, it would be good to keep checking in at our partnering garden centers and nurseries in RI: grownbyoverdevest.com/retail-locator/ from then onwards, and then dropping in regularly later than that because of course they don't all come in at the same time, and most places will be getting in fresh supplies weekly as they start becoming available.
      Have you subscribed to our channel? If not, you might like to think about doing so, because we are posting new videos all the time and if you don't mind, it would be great if you can kindly click the "like" button too and even share any videos that you think might appeal to others because that helps other people find out about this information too.

    Is this Echinacea sterile? I want to also tell you how wonderful your Agastache Morello is in my garden. It has been blooming for several months and has no pest problems. Too bad that when I went to buy some more and some for a friend, Adam’s had no more. Hope to get it next Spring. Always adding to my list for 2022 already😁

    • @OverdevestNurseries
      @OverdevestNurseries  3 года назад +1

      Most of these selections are not sterile so if you are concerned about seeding into the garden then I suggest you routinely snip off the old seed heads before they shatter. It is a good idea to do this anyway as it encourages extra rebloom and helps to extend the flowering period in late summer/autumn (unless of course you want to leave some for the birds). Good to hear about the Agastache Morello, it is a lovely (and increasingly popular) selection, and I am sure Adams Fairacre Farms and the other garden centers in your area: grownbyoverdevest.com/retail-locator/ will be getting more of them in as it's popularity grows. The folk at Adams Fairacre Farms do a wonderful job at sourcing the best, cutting edge varieties so compiling a list and letting them know ahead of time (if that is possible) is probably a good idea. You are in good hands and it is great to hear it is working out.

      @@OverdevestNurseries I love when Echinacea self sow. They are currently making a gorgeous self sown area farthest away from our house and it is looking more and more like a beautiful small meadow area🥰

    Your videos are always so informative. I wish that the nurseries near my home actually had the plants you show us all.
    Is this particular Echinacea sterile. Does it prefer same conditions as usual Echinacea purpurea Magnus?

    • @OverdevestNurseries
      @OverdevestNurseries  3 года назад +2

      Thank you, it is great to hear you approve of our efforts. If you live and garden in our region here's a link that will show you where all the garden centers that carry our plants are located: grownbyoverdevest.com/retail-locator/
      As far as I know this variety is not sterile and it (and the others we grow) do like the conditions that very similar to those that Echinacea Magnus grows in - so if you have Magnus and it is doing well this one should do well too.

      @@OverdevestNurseries I do know that Phantom Gardener and Adam’s do carry your plants, and have purchased yours from both nurseries. However, the varieties you discuss on RUclips are never there when I call or visit after one of your videos🙁. I do keep them on a list for requests for next year though.

    I love your videos and have definitely invested in some of the excellent varieties you have promoted! I’m curious how you guys source your plant material and who these breeders are that produce them? Are they domestic breeders or do you guys source from overseas? Can’t wait for more of your videos and plants!!
