As a long-time fan of LMAD: That's the version of the old "Cash Register Deal". And that was always the rule: If the couple picked No Sale to start the deal, they got one more shot to zonk the zonk, same rules apply as here.
@@michaelfalkner1186 and it never happened until this. Monty had johnathon turn over all the cards to show it wass an honest game because he grew up with the scandals. In fact he was asked to host the revival of 21 but he refused because 21 was the show that started the scandals being brought to life
The thing about this version of LMaD I like is that not only is Monty Hall a creative consultant, as he has a say in what goes on with the show (unlike the horrid 2003 NBC vesion) and the week-long guest appearance adds to the interest of this version.
I just watched this on PVR. It's just chance that I taped this yesterday while away at a job fair, and back I came to not get a chance to watch it after. This morning he talked about this incredible deal the previous day and I went back to the PVR. I'm with Wayne on this one: what just happened? Simply incredible.
You'd be surprised - many people prefer manual transmission because afaik, a manual transmission will get better mileage than the same model automatic.
It's mathematically the same deal as the old-fashioned cash register deal seen in the LMAD shows rerun recently on GSN. The cash register had 15 buttons with two of them saying No Sale, this deal has 15 cards with 13 money amounts, 2 saying ZOnks. Monty even played the cash register deal out the same way it was played out a few times on the GSN reruns when this scenario occurred. Although in the 70s, the money amounts were $50 and $100, but in the 80s the money amounts were what is seen here.
Used to watch Let's Make A Deal back in the 1970's as a kid during summer breaks from school. This show along with other game shows were part of my early childhood TV watching memories. Good to see ole Monty wheeling and dealing once again. Jay Steward has been gone since the late 1980's but I wonder what ever happened to Carol Merrill.
That was definitely a sad day in the game show world when he passed away! So glad that he came back for one final week to do one last week's worth of dealmaking and zonks
@sleazieSteve Your math is wrong. They have a 2/15 chance on the first one and a 1/14 chance on the second one, so it would be 2 / 15 / 14 = .95238% or one in 105.
Of course not man, No one will ever be better than Monty Hall. Monty Hall is what Bob Barker Is to The Price Is Right :D But I agree Wayne is a excellent Host
@tpir1972 It did happened as an attempt. Look at my YT clip under "dreadful playing of Cash register," from Lets make a Deal. He did the very similar thing. In the other case, the person end up not getting the car, just a cash consolation prize.
Love seeing Wayne paying homage and respect to the original Host of Let's Make A Deal. R.I.P. Mr. Monty Hall ♥
Winning a car by getting Zonked out. Whoda thunk....?
Only Mr Monty Hall would allow that!

It's magic and i love Monty hall.

Proof that Monty still has it after more than half a century! EPIC WIN!
Wow! That's unbelievable. Monty was great, life sucks how we get old so fast then gone. My grandfather used to say, "we're only here for the weekend"
Wow, loved this tribute. Rest in Peace, Monty Hall. A job well done!! That deal with Monty was amazing! 2 Zonks and they won!
Magic, pure magic! RIP dear Mr. Hall
Boo!
The #OG of dealmaking probably making deals up in heaven right now!
Never has the zonk music sounded so sweet.
Same here. :)
I agree
Monty Hall is 89! Doesn't he look incredible? And he's still sharp. God bless him. He has spent most of his life bringing great fun to all who watch.
Rarely do you see a HUGE loss and a HUGE win in the same game. Epic! Especially considering that Monty Hall (the Deal legend) was responsible for this
If you remember the old cash register deal, that "no sale" rule applied here.
I forgot about that rule until I read it earlier!
The thing about this version of LMaD I like is that not only is Monty Hall a creative consultant, as he has a say in what goes on with the show (unlike the horrid 2003 NBC vesion) and the week-long guest appearance adds to the interest of this version.
We love you Monty Hall
That was awesome. Good to see Monty again too.
Monty Hall still has it! He must be in his 90's by now.
I just watched this on PVR. It's just chance that I taped this yesterday while away at a job fair, and back I came to not get a chance to watch it after. THAT WAS SO COOOL!!!! hahaha yeah, definitely only time to be happy about a zonk. that was fantabulous!!! hahaha
That's amazing I love this show anything can happen
NEVER SEEN SOMEBODY SO HAPPY TO GET A ZOINK BEFORE
That was one of my favorite moments!
2 Zonk cards equaled a "Counter Zonk", meaning that the red couple won a red car for themselves.
Wow... Monty still has it.. wish he was the one hosting the new version.. Wayne is OK.. but Monty has class!
You'd be surprised - many people prefer manual transmission because afaik, a manual transmission will get better mileage than the same model automatic.

Monty Hall, one of the all time greats.

I was a kid in the 70s and I remember the summers waking up late and watching game shows with my grandma.
+derryk1 Carol Merrill is still around
Ya she's still around, google i did. Life sucks we get old so fast then die! Monty will be missed. He was the best
Most epic oxymoron in game show history...the Zonk theme plays as the couple wins the car.
That was absolutely amazing! And I’m living in 2021
THAT WAS CRAZY!!! I THOUGHT FO SURE ALL OF THEM WERE ZONKS BUT THEN JONATHAN FLIPPED THEM!!! OMG!!'
I saw oompa loompas :)
Monty Hall born in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada!
RIP Sir.
To have the original emcee of a show that someone else is doing has to be a dream come true!
Probably the only time when getting a ZONK is a good thing.
Let it be said, The best gift of all Mr
Monty he's good
Iv seen this episode, That was real nice of Monty, classic lets make a deal style. only monty.
This is similar to an segment of the cash drawer if you press no sale, game ends.
rip Monty Hall 😢
Folks, I regret to inform you all that the legendary Let's Make A Deal host Monty Hall has died at the age of 96...
That was definitely a sad day in the game show world when he passed away! So glad that he came back for one final week to do one last week's worth of dealmaking and zonks
Amazing. And how cool was it for Monte Hall to give those people that chance in the first place.
EPPPIIIICCCCCCC!!!! That is an EPIC WIN!!!! WOW!!
I'm just glad Monty didn't have a heart attack b/c of this; you could say that he got zonked. Wow is right!!!
Well, what is there that can be said other than "Two Zonks make a right."
This just happened for the third time on Wayne Brady’s version of let’s make a deal on November 1, 2021.
He's really nice to let them get the car!
Happy belated birthday to the original "Big Dealer" himself Monty Hall. Monty turned 90 yesterday.
@RedPortiaOne If no Monty, then no Wayne.
Hats off to Monty Hall!
I fainted after just two Zonks!
He's older, his voice isn't as strong, but Monty's still got it!
@multiflattop LOL as Monty said he did not want to come down and see someone get ZONKED
R.I.P. to the Original Big Dealer Monty Hall. He passed today at age 96
MONTY IS SO LOVABLE
They should've played the zonk music from either the 70s version or the 1984-1986 version. That would've been a good tribute to Monty Hall.
It's amazing what people will do just to anything, even if it means getting zonked just to win a car!
Oh Monty hall Lets make a deal original host Monty Hall were blessed to see you at 96 your gonna be so missed rip
That was my parents that won
Winning a car on by Zonking twice. Welcome to Alternate Universe Let's Make a Deal, with the original Dealer guest hosting the segment!
RIP MONTY HALL
That is absolutely amazing!!!!

Monty just celebrated his 89th birthday on August 25
Congrats. U just won $6000 of repair bills for the next 6 years.
Wow, I don't think that has EVER happened with the old cash register.
The only time someone was happy; to see a Zonk.
Wayne’s great, but Monty will always be the master of the deal
4:38 IT'S A ZONK!!!
Those two people have the same red shirts on and they both wearing red crab hats on top their heads too.
One of the few times getting a Zonk is actually a good thing
2:05 In the later years of this show, that board has had some revamps.
Yikes! I thought Monty would keel over after this surprise.
@chuckers40 GOD BLESS HIM!!!
It's Just Like Winning $100,000 on Powerball Instant Millionaire for finding 2 Xs in the first two picks.
Yeah, those people were definitely actors who were in on it.
That my parents that won
He'll be 91 in one week!
ca. 2:39... cue in "TPiR Match Game Hollywood Squares Hour car cue!"
I doubt that, but I do think they're class acts.
Did a similar offering in the 70's version of Let's Make a Deal on a Cash Register game where it ended really early.
wayne come back to make humor! you are a funny guy man!
a miracle
He was Winnipeg’s own.
That could only happen with the great Monty Hall!!
Of course not man, No one will ever be better than Monty Hall. Monty Hall is what Bob Barker Is to The Price Is Right :D But I agree Wayne is a excellent Host
that's luck right there
@fran9860 Lucky Jonathan...
The old cash-register game.
Good to see monty with Wayne
@tpir1972 It did happened as an attempt. Look at my YT clip under "dreadful playing of Cash register," from Lets make a Deal. He did the very similar thing. In the other case, the person end up not getting the car, just a cash consolation prize.
@gshowguy No shit. Monty Hall was smart to hand the mic to Wayne Brady.
I don't feel he should have offered to double the money on the next card they drew, but other than that... wow
Zonk + Zonk = Car
Only on LMAD
I wish we could restore Monty's youth apperance through surgery
You can but he likely wouldn't have wanted it. He struck me as the type who had long accepted his mortality and the wisdom to age gracefully
3:46 did anyone else see the oompa loompa
Two honks good them the car
RIP MONTY
Is Jonathon on Drew Carey's Improvaganza?
3:17
4:38
ZONK!
When are you gonna post Thursday and Friday?
wayne was 10000000000000000000000000000X better on "Who's Line is it Anyways?"
Who has that big yellow and purple ball blocking the way?
I don't recall it ever happening
