Super awesome to see what small artists are able to come up with too (I guess they get to be a bit more experimental since they don't have to stick to an established style?)! Hadn't realised how much MIDI can emulate guitars as shown by ro1!
i love that this is becoming a monthly series, i love disvovering new stuff, especially smaller bands, makes me feel special yk? only thing id say is (for me personally) itd be better if this was done on a community post instead of discord, i dont have discord but i have tonnes of suggestions :)
As someone who has tried to get his song on those streams a few times, the sheer volume of suggestions means that if you don't get it in the discord within the first 10 seconds you're out of luck lol.
Disfigured Elegance was from Quebec, Canada. They disbanded a while ago and their vocalist joined Beheading of A King until his passing in 2011. He was the best local vocalist at the time. All his releases with both bands were incredible.
Wizardthrone have been a favorite of mine since around when their first album came out. Blackened Melodic Death Metal with an entire mythology based around non-Euclidean Geometry and extended dimensional theories (there is a degree of Lovecraftian horror in it). Mike "Archistrategos" Barber is an incredible guitarist, as well as the rest of the band being incredible. That entire album is a masterpiece.
Sucks that they probably won't ever do anything again because Hypercube was a great album. Looking forward to what Jake and the rest of ÆR produce with the upcoming record though
@@arridexerandco I reached out to the guitarist, Mike Barber, a few months ago, and he said that Wizardthrone will likely have another release. We might just see more Wizardthrone in the next year or two. I certainly await the next chapter of non-euclidean geometric elucidation with great excitement.
Summoning the Lich is easily my favorite metal band under 10k monthly. I saw them live with Nekrogoblikon and theyve become one of my favorite deathcore bands
@grimg0r799 listen, their are way too many subgenres, I know like 4 of them well enough to differentiate, deathcore is the closest I know to what they are
man i love when we share the under 10,000 monthly groups. Sure smash or pass with general groups we all know is fine too but it's always cool finding and critiquing these under the radar gems
So glad To Octavia was on here. The lead singer was the one who was featured on Sonic Frontiers "I'm Here", The main theme of the game. That is how I found them and they are so good.
Love all your content!! Would love to see more of the “bands you never heard of” videos. I’ve found so many great new bands through your videos. Thank you.
My fave thing that gets posted on this channel! Also I love that this is the second vid to feature Poltergeist, have been bumping their EP since their first spotlight :P
thank you so much for shedding light on To Octavia, got into them because they did the main theme for Sonic Frontiers which is fucking awesome and their own music is so good too! Australia as usual does their metalcore justice 👌
It’s more post-hardcore than metal but I released a new EP a couple months ago. It’s a one man band called “How to Care for Flowers” some people here may enjoy it, thanks to anyone that gives it a shot. There’s a cool breakdown at the end of “The Screening Room Incident” btw. It’s on Spotify, Bandcamp etc and no this isn’t spam, this is the only place on RUclips I’ve posted this comment, I’ve watched Nik’s content for years.
If you haven't heard "Sectioned" please check them out. Scottish extreme metal band that had their own sound back in 2018. This is the band that turned into Frontier.
Wizardthrone blew my mind when I heard them the first time ❤ amazing super band and Vincent's vocals are just always amazing but it's more melodic death things
Tasty stuff this round! My throw in: Earth Eater, 6K monthly. 8-string atmospheric djent-core with Loomis-level leads and gigantic, bone-rattling riffs. Banished, Chimera, Swarm, Slaves... So many great tracks over a few albums. Krosis is also criminally underrated, but managing 13K. Cheers, everybody - remember to listen to your ears more than the numbers in every case.
It be cool too see this as a series but including bands suggested on RUclips as well as not everyone has discord. A few bands I'd recommend (with monthly listeners count beside them)for if you do use bands suggested on RUclips are; A Million Dead Birds Laughing - 154 Decatholicize (not on Spotify) Werewolves - 8,375 Gutslit - 5,198 Everything Destroying - 22 Winnerz Circle - 3,468 Blind Equation - 8,137 Calligram - 2,506
They have 25k monthly listeners but I really recommend the band Vertilizar, one of my favourites. I would say start with "Bleed" arguably their best song. Enjoy Your Suffer is also really good
I'm so annoyed that I was in this stream but I couldn't submit my song fast enough. I understand it's luck of the draw but God damn I'm trying get my music out there.
My boys in funeral killin it. Also disfigured elegance was such a vibe back in the day. RIP matty. If you didnt know he was the vocalist of Beheading of a king.
Yooo that's so weird! Yesterday during my workout I listened to Diamond Construct which I discovered through one of Nik's videos and thought "Man, it would be great if Nik made another one of these videos". This morning I get up and voilà, Nik has delivered my wish 😂❤
Those are sick bands ngl. One I recommend for everyone to check out is Cold State. I met one of their guitarists on Destiny 2, super chill dude! His band has vibes of Wage War. Vocals are sick as fuuucck, guitars are awesome as well as the drumming. Highly, HIGHLY recommend them! 😁
Holy shit is and all i can say just Vildhjarta 2.0!? Funeral Wake sounds like early CG, and I see Twitch said that too The Disfigured Elegance logo looks like fucking Suicide Silence lmao
Did not expect to see Wizardthrone in there. One of the many projects of Chris Bowes, and I think also with other band members of Alestorm and Gloryhammer.
Since it seems appropriate, I am here to spread the word of DeadVectors. Just trust me, if you’re reading this, do yourself that favor and go listen to them. The song that got me obsessed with them is called Slither.
i was gonna get upset that chat passed on wizardthrone, but then i remembered that i forgot to listen to or support them at all after the album released
*Smash like for more fun metal THINGS!*
see the band called "Her Last Sight" :3
S M A S H
We are definitely a band you havent heard of!
Can someone tell nik about lost in sight
Have you watched Metal Family? It's a very good adult cartoon centered around a family of metalheads.

Those boys played some mean tunes
🫵🤘

Thank you for doing God's work.
Some of those bands and songs were actually pretty good
If songs had 4 seconds

I love this (small) series! Definitely should do more of this.

Their lineup was insane If you want some more blackened melodeath I recommend Suotana and Atavistia
They were the only group I'd heard before in this lineup. Was surprised they're sub 10k.
Sucks that they probably won't ever do anything again because Hypercube was a great album. Looking forward to what Jake and the rest of ÆR produce with the upcoming record though

Summoning the Lich is easily my favorite metal band under 10k monthly. I saw them live with Nekrogoblikon and theyve become one of my favorite deathcore bands
StL is AWSOME! And don't forget that all their music is in E standard and still incredibly heavy
their debut album is easily one of my favorites. theyre so good
are they really deathcore though? more like melodic/tech death
Nekrogoblikon slaps
@grimg0r799 listen, their are way too many subgenres, I know like 4 of them well enough to differentiate, deathcore is the closest I know to what they are

Cool lil fact about To Octavia. The lead singer actually sang the main theme song for Sonic Frontiers.
Larcenia Roe is a recent favorite and I'm glad to see them here! Nose Tork is the song I would have picked though.
Definetly! I have to say i got kinda sad 'cause he didn't show the breakdown part tbh.
Can't believe Nik checked out MAZE, that's awesome! One of the best alt-idol groups out there!
Rymer was a hidden gem for sure 🔥
So glad To Octavia was on here. The lead singer was the one who was featured on Sonic Frontiers "I'm Here", The main theme of the game. That is how I found them and they are so good.
Nik you should be making a playlist with all of these picks!! Please Spotify now 😊
Rymer sounds dope
I really love it when big guys like you check out undiscovered Bands! Thx for that!
Fact about To Octavia : Their vocalist Merry Kirk-Holmes did the vocals on the song I'm Here, the main theme of the video game Sonic Frontiers 😉
Rymer was fire.

Wow! Rymer sounds lit as fuck
"Just watch it on the internet, don't you like being at home?" On time and on target.
Larcenia Roe is maybe the most ridiculous band in the scene right now, and I mean as both a compliment and an insult 😂
Hi Nik, love your videos
I've been needing new chuggs lately... This is perfect...
Caleb, for the skyrim speech level, is there a way to increase it each time you use it?
Nik could easily hit 69420 in like 3 videos lol
Love finding new bands from these videos, please keep them up!
This was one of the best one of these so far. I'm all about some of the other bands I've discovered through this series.
I love seeing this kind of thing! A band I just discovered recently is called Wormhole they do tech-death and I like their song Elysiism
Majin is unironically really good, their Heretic Anthem cover is a banger
Rymer is the fucking shit 🔥 so was funeral wake

Still waiting for DeadVectors to show up. Amazing duo. The vocalist is absolutely mental!
Second this
100%, amazing band
It's weird that you don't hear more people talking about DV. Probably one of the more unique, heavy and creative metal band out there.
You gotta check out the new Wormhole and Altarage dude, some greatness being slept on.
I'll say it, Poltergeist is like Meshuggah with a Mick Gordon/Doom sound.
Thanks again for showin' me a few sick new bands!
MAZE is pretty rad.
Surprising that its an Idol group.
Oh hey thanks for the shout out 😅

you should listen to a band named "celephaïs". they're instrumental blackgaze and i think that they're very good.
Glad to see funeral wake getting some more attention. Found them from their ignorant feature in death reflection by face yourself. Really cool band!
You all need to check out Wither//Bloom, literally fantastic, i swear you all will love it
Funeral Wake is super sick, their vocalist Isaac is an absolute BEAST. Should check out his old band Dethrone The Deceiver as well!
Dethrone the Deceiver was pretty sick asff.
This great! There really are great small bands (but I already knew that).❤
overbloom better be here the sexy sod

I came here for metal. Now I'll have running in the 90' stuck in my head for days. Thanks Nik...
Dreamwake better be on here
Saw the title of the video and thought the exact same thing!
I hope settostun is on one of these, they've got an album coming soon and they deserve more recognition man
Ok, this band is perplexing but good. Like 2000s rock meets modern metal.
I am sure the bands featured appreciate the spotlight 😊😊
I know Poltergeist already but not the rest. Good finds 🤘
Nik's speech hits level 21 almost every video. He must repec alot. Mad respec.
They just passed 10k but Save Us needs more listeners, they put out their first song last month.
2:20 was my suggestion lmao, the lead guitarist is my guitar teacher
nik gonna drop below a million after that "strike" joke
To play guitar with keyboard, use Odin II or Shreddage VSTs :D
Funeral Wake go hard though, damn.
a must see Monarchs US they have a 15 yr old drummer and it hits hard..just released...
"Symphony X" Not an entirely unknown band but younger metal fans might not know who they are, always a good listen.

Hollow point - comrades
