14th St. is one of the few remaining stations where express trains come barrelling in. 42nd St. is another. Back in the good old days, roaring into 42nd s/b on the R-10s was almost terrifying.
What was the reason for this?, The D train cant get back to its home line south of West 4th st although the D line was the F line many moons ago...please explain....
P Jay agreed! Standing on the Herald Square platform seeing those polished R143s/160s on the M/F but nasty old R68s on the D. It's definitely time for an upgrade.

So if the D train was terminating at chambers street than how did people get to grand street and all the stations in between 36th street and bay 50th street?
Whenever the D Train Is Suspended From Going Into Brooklyn The Q Train Runs Via The D Line From Coney Island To Atlantic Av Or Sometimes The N Train From Coney Island To Atlantic Av or 36 St
Nope, at Chambers Street the track layup is as follows at the Chambers Street / World Trade Center Area on the 8th Avenue line: From west to east: 1st track: Brooklyn Bound A and C 2nd track: Uptown A and C 3rd track: WTC bound E 4th track: Queens bound E
+r142a_7795 Looks like the D wrong railed onto Track 2 (West to East) (For the turnaround) and the E train came in on Track 3. It was a little clearer on another clip further in the video.. Thanks
I love trains like the NYC city trains my favorite trains are the A 3 4 1 L 2 s m j z f g c e and the b d but I love every trains. My mom favorite train is the q train. On Wednesday April 27 2016 me and my mom take the shuttle bus to rockway avenue then the 3 train skips Saratoga avenue then we stopped at Sutter avenue and Rutland road t
+hockeyboss 689 The normal terminal for the D line is Coney Island. However, on the weekend I shot this video, the terminal for D trains on the southern end was Chambers St on the A line.
+A.G. bonnie/Rios Maybe not, but it must be done. At least the N (estimated *4* years) is capable of having a partial shutdown without being considerably prohibitive (thanks, wide ROW).
+sonicboy678 The N can be re-routed via West End along with the D trains with shuttle buses serving the closed stations on Sea Beach. The L is unfortunately another matter altogether.
This begs the question: where were the A and C trains? The upper level at 50th Street is only served by the C train and in the video that station looked like there were a lot of people waiting on one of the platforms. Was the C train running a shortened route as well? The A + C trains could've been running to West 4 Street and then they could've changed to the F line for service to Brooklyn. Is that what happened?
+fanfig77200 It is very unusual for a D train to be rerouted down the A line, especially to the stations on the A line south of West 4th St. This is because once you pass West 4th St going south, there is no track connection between the A line and the D line for a D train to return to its normal route.
Great catches DJ! So mad I missed out on this lol

I remember that too...

I'm able to sign my R-1/9 signbox for this routing. As a matter of fact, when the D line first opened, it ran to what was then Hudson Terminal.
On a similar note, I witnessed a couple of downtown R trains running on the B/D/F/M lines this morning.
This must've been messy at 34 St with the D being the only thing on the center platform.
+LIRR175 Yeah, and there wasn't a lot of signage telling people what was going on.
Wish I was there for that! I only ever need to take this train on weekdays :(
can i use the service changes maps please?
This was when no one had masks
If its ok with i need to use this sound for a video i will make sure your in the credits i just need the part of an r68 departing
So this is what happend after D train got scared
Yeah
nice catch
+sabrina garcia Thanks!
Mostly D trains runs on C and A line to the F line between Jay street metrotech
Can you film the Sea Beach line to Manhattan including the announcements just out of my curiosity of listening to the updated announcements?
+Kyron Liu I'll have an announcement video soon! It'll come out around March.
Thanks!
The B and the D train needs upgrades

no r68 are cool
@P Jay. i agree but the mta subway lines in general need a upgrade.
16:52 Ok Toni Braxton 😂😂
I remember when n/b Abbott trains went by 50th St. much faster.
So if the D train was terminating at chambers street than how did people get to grand street and all the stations in between 36th street and bay 50th street?
They Can Use Shuttle Bus Services
Whenever the D Train Is Suspended From Going Into Brooklyn The Q Train Runs Via The D Line From Coney Island To Atlantic Av Or Sometimes The N Train From Coney Island To Atlantic Av or 36 St
Saulracing: 16:56 At least the announcement told us why the D trains are running on the A line
They need to start having D train and Btrain as R106 or R106A
Concourse Yard would go insane if they had anything other than an R68 or R68A
What time of day was this taken my friend?
+Richard Davies In the morning, around 9-11am.
At 1:51 was that E Train wrong railing on the uptown express track?
Nope, at Chambers Street the track layup is as follows at the Chambers Street / World Trade Center Area on the 8th Avenue line:
From west to east:
1st track: Brooklyn Bound A and C
2nd track: Uptown A and C

The D Came in as soon as the E was passing
en que país es esto
So the d train's terminal was still Coney Island?
+hockeyboss 689 The normal terminal for the D line is Coney Island. However, on the weekend I shot this video, the terminal for D trains on the southern end was Chambers St on the A line.
oh so thats where they were because i saw only N trains via West-End
+A.G. bonnie/Rios Yeah, the D train wasn't running to Brooklyn that weekend.
And i dont like the feeling of Shutting down the L and N trains for 2 years
+A.G. bonnie/Rios Maybe not, but it must be done. At least the N (estimated *4* years) is capable of having a partial shutdown without being considerably prohibitive (thanks, wide ROW).

+Francisco Miranda The A and C were running on the local track, and then via the F from W4 to Jay St.
Impressively interesting
So the D train went to Far Rockaway?
+Ann Leslie Nope, it terminated at Chambers St.
A and D lines are faster than the L and Q
Why is it such a rare reroute?

D train taking too long to open the doors.
More confusion on people's faces. "D train?"
+Graphite42 I don't think there was enough signage up to inform customers about the reroute.
