    Sorry but the greatest difference is that Giannis learned basketball in Greece. It was easier for him to develop different skills, than Costas because coaches in Greece are more interest to teach the game to the youngsters than to win games and make a name in the market. Giannis was an all around player right from the beginning and all he had to work was muscles.

    •  3 года назад +35

      is something that we easily see when a player from Europe reach the NBA. Maybe they are not that skilled-talented as much of the USA talent but are more developed in other areas and IQ, cause the differences on the game in Europe basketball and USA (also in Europe the game is less physical and not many teen-agers dunk in games 😅)

    • @ian3084
      @ian3084 3 года назад +23

      100% this. Giannis knew the game already when he reached the NBA. I am not even sure he added 1% to skill with the Bucks unfortunately. I don't mean he didn't get better because he still worked on what he already did and put on some muscle, but he is literally the same player, just stronger. He does try to improve his shooting it seems, so let's hope this works when it matters.

      As a greek person and young basketball player I can assure you that most of the coaches don't care about developing the skills of a young player they want only complete guys so those who their body grows slowly don't get opportunities at all. But the most important thing, is for him to get minutes. Lakers have a crazy roster, and will never use him and just ruin his career, if he played with the Hornets, Haws, Bulls , etc.. he would get play time and boost his confidence

    Giannis is very skilled in the post, has a solid handle for a big man, passes at a decent level and has many options when driving. He just doesn't have a consistent shot. His freethrows and 3s are disappointing to watch at times, especially for us greek fans that love him, and I don't think he can truly fix them by just working hard because he already does that. Just because KD can shoot 50/40/90 at his height does not mean that even the best 7 footers can do that. Giannis may never master every part of the game but even if he just focuses on what he excels at while trying to improve his weakness he will be just fine. He is a 2xMVP and DPOY at 25 years of age after all.

And with minutes you get to properly assess and course correct. If Kostas stays on the bench he won't get the real time experience to grow. I can pull up pictures that show their physiques standing next to each other and they are very close. Which is a testament to younger brother doing the same off-season work as big bro. Team, play-time and fit are immense variables that people don't take Into consideration. He should go to hate to say this but Denver cus literally everybody on that team has developed GREATLY (Bol Bol was already a Demi God) OKC are more focused on development now (Gilgeous-Alexander is one person that has gotten better) and Spurs cus they focus on getting your fundamentals up

    Kostas was indeed more talented than Giannis but there was nobody to work with him systematically! Kostas was not coming to practice systematically ! Also he left Europe early not competing against men like his brother but against younger high schoolers in the US!I told Giannis this early enough but Giannis thought that the US is a perfect place in basketball! Also Giannis had a weakness in his brother not wanting to leave him behind
