I'm gonna miss the old SER. It was really fun to visit it, and I'm glad I was able to. I can remember when you first started getting this room setup and alive. But now you'll have a new home for your things, and a new SER Safety headquarters.
P.S. This is probably the longest video on this channel! What does it feel like to have a long video Grant? :) :P

There should be no splices in cable runs from electrical panel to circuit. If there are spliced, they should be enclosed in a metal electrical box. Electrical boxes also come in nylon and plastic. I have a personal bias of metal. Since there is a splice the box can and should be grounded too. A loose outlet is also a fire hazard because arcing can occur which makes sparks, they can either ignite something or at very least keep heating up and you have an electrical fire very fast. Since you're probably long gone from there, it is moot for that place. Just keep it in your mind wherever you happen to be. Electrical fires are particularly nasty, and if you don't know it is an electrical fire and start fighting it with water, that could be very dangerous. Love your videos BTW. Hope you keep it up.

Awesome video I'm really going to miss the old S.E.R Just an FYI, next time you run a wire from your service panel to a receptacle, if you have to wire not it along the way it needs to be in a junction box.

Hey I had a quick question. I have a simplex 4098-9789 heat detector. I was wondering if you could do a video on how to wire it up to work with out a panel. Hope you are able to do this. If not that's okay too

Eek the wire nuts you have exposed are supposed to be in a box.... super dangerous because if you tug on the cable it's definitely gonna come out and start a fire. But I guess that's someone else's problem
Actually there are no wires in those boxes now as far as exit signs. They are just empty. On the wall system those wires are not hot (they're not turned on) either anymore. We did get some little white cover plates to put over them to. These photos were just taken when they were not on yet.
S.E.R. Safety I'm talking about where you put the splice on the beam on the ceiling. The exit signs are fine
Oh. Those are stapled into the beam where they can't conduct. It's fine.

hey. how do I disable the horn on the Wheelock AS, so the only thing that works is the strobe?
There isn't any way to do that sadly. The AS is a two wire alarm, so the horn and strobe run together
