This game was fucking awesome , for those of us who beat it with out cheat codes you could appreciate it more, way better then the snes version . Even thoe the snes versions was more true to the Series , you should have played the snes version then dude, slower more story elements .
This game is probably one if the top 5 hardest I've ever played. I could barely get to the first level boss maybe a third of the time and couldn't beat it. If I remember correctly the game doesn't have any effective cheat codes and there are no difficulty settings....aaarrggghhh!
Depends on what "your games" are. I was pretty much a completionist in challenging platformers on NES/Genesis at the age of like 10-15, like naturally, without guides and cheats. My brothers was always demanding me to do speedruns to just sit and watch me play. As to this particular game, I never lost all lives before at least "flying above the city" stage. Like as soon as you maxed up your projectile weapon(green one doing the most dps), which happening in first part of second stage, you will just destroy everything in front of you including bosses, as long as you snappy at dodging melee attacks which is most lethal somehow. Game is pretty forgiving and gives you lots of health all the time, and waves of enemies gives you extra upgrades if you happened to die in the middle of the game and started stage with basic weapon.
I remember playing this game as a kid! I sucked at it! lol I want to recommend a game from my childhood. Brute Force. I played that a lot when I was younger and it sucks that nobody has reviews for it! You should check it out!

@@oh_rhythm hard corps is not that bad once you master the slide mechanic. i thought hard corps was the hardest contra game at first, but once i got good at sliding through enemies and their projectiles, it became far easier. still a very challenging game, just not as challenging as i thought. i agree that this game is harder.
I mean I know what they are from Google. But your videos make these classics from 20+ years ago, released on long-defunct systems, feel fun and relevant.
This game was hard as hell but very fun. And the soundtrack... Its just amazing.
