Best stance for quick ko combat. I was using it to do muay thaï and it worked fine. Plus if you take a low kick it’s not a big deal thanks to the form of the front leg. Forget to mention, I come from hung gar kung fu, the style which is very like karate.
Very cool, stuff. I’ve been doing mostly boxing and Muay Thai for my striking art. But I’m really getting into this style of fighting. Think I prefer it. 🥋
Very good video. After practicing with a more bladed stance for 10 years. I discovered that it doesn’t work for me (I’m a thicker guy). Switched to a more square stance (not too squared) and my kumite changed for the better.
But That stance might not be so efective for shorter figthers, taking into acount that the karate stance is more efficient in the long-distance fighting.
It's been 18+ years since I done shotokan. But... I'm almost incline 2 say dat looks like a modified "sochin-dachi!" Now if only I wasn't dragged from North Vegas those years ago because of ... things...
Huge appreciation for you work gentlemen. It’s brave to be so progressive and not stick to tradition ‘just because’. OSU

Thank you for this explanation, Sensei Chinzo. I have been studying your style and plan to incorporate more of it in my fighting.

Fundamental. Arigatou Sensei Chinzo
Sensei, why are the hands positioned low under the chin? I
Is that kyokushin style?
👏👏👏
Sensei Chinzo, how do you avoid taking hard Muay Thai kicks to the thigh with the front leg so heavily weighted and low?
Oss!
horror, the toe of the back leg should be pointed forward, not to the side, and the heel should be slightly raised.
