@@genexxa357 Sorry but unsure. I think the current amp is built into the radio consul that any aftermarket unit connects into via the harness connections but I never looked into it. Sorry I can't be more helpful
Great video, I've just bought one, waiting on delivery. Did you connect the microphone they comes with it so you can make calls? Or does the Freelander mib still work when connected to the Android unit? Thanks.
Hi. I did connect to the mic which I put in the top speaker cover. And the phone still connects to the BT on the FREELANDER. Just about to post how the Apple CarPlay works so look out for that one. Mike
This is great, thanks for putting it together. I'd seen these advertised but wanted to see someone else put a video together before taking the plunge myself. Do you find it to be much better than the xtrons one? My biggest criticism of the xtrons unit is how poor the automatic dimming of the screen is when turning the lights on - i find it doesnt dim the screen sufficiently and have to manually run an app to get the brigtness to a level comfortable when driving at night. I dont suppose this is any better? I didnt see you connect anything to the dimmer cable in this video. Thanks in advance!
Far better control on the system. Using Apple CarPlay also automatically dims. The unit is far superior to the Xtrons, speed, ease of use and screen size, really brings the interior to life again.
@@michaelstanley3961 Thanks for coming back to me - so does the screen dim to a level where its usable at night without having to do anything else to it?
Hello Michael, I have question; the connector of the original freelander antenna, where is it connected? -to the radio freelander? either -to the new android radio? thank and congratulations for the video
Great video! Could you please provide the link to which unit you bought? I’m curious about how much RAM your unit has and if it feel slow/laggy. Thanks!
Hi. Bought the unit from AliExpress from the NAVIFANS store. The unit was a TS10 4g Ram 32g ROM. No lag locks onto CarPlay very quickly and lots of options in menu's. Also customer service very responsive. Enjoy
Thanks for the info! Would it be possible to send a link? I see two stores with NAVIFANS in it: NAVIFANS official store and NAVIFANS Multimedia GPS store. Thanks!
hello michael i have the same touch screen to my freelander but then the screen is on but does respond at all(even when i touch it ), its only the reverse option that works when i reverse the car. please advise thank you
Unsure but if you have video feeds which can be connected to video audio out cables probably have to get a splitter should be able to play media files on all 3 screens but never tried it. Good luck.
Hello Michael, another question, in your case does the screen turn off by itself when you disconnect the car? Because in mine you have to turn it off with the on/off button on the Android, thank
Hi, did you have to change any settings for the reverse camera to come on? I have connected trigger wire to the brown 'back' wire and other end to reverse 12v...av connected to camera and the android... When I select reverse nothing happens, not even a black screen. 🙃🙃
@@michaelstanley3961 hi thanks for reply. Yes I have positive to reverse light, I have negative to earth from rear wiper motor...I wonder if that needs to be on the reverse negative? 🤔

Thanks very much for the video, i was told that the original wiring is fibre optics, was yours? does this adaptor take care of that problem?
The wiring is optical. The shunt / adapter does the job. Basically send the optical signal back as if it was still connected.
Is it possible to connect an aftermarket amplifire to this unit? I wanna upgrade the subwoofer ☺️

Awesome, thank you! Last thing, how is the microphone situation? Does the built-in microphone work and does it play nice with the car’s microphone?

Should turn off when you turn off and pull out the fob. There is about a 5 sec delay Mike
Hi, how do you get to the original car settings, the menu of the original car screen.
Hi, the screen only worked to control the factory fitted sat nav, nothing else. Whatever were you looking to control, Mike

Just check. The 12v that powers the camera comes from the 12v revering light circuit🥸

Check the earth first. There are no settings to change. And check the trigger wire connection and the video connection first.
