Nothing hits like this did when this first came out. One of the sickest mmemories of my life. Going buying this at hot topic walking out to the parking lot putting the CD 💿 in and my face and soul being completely melted into a fine poultry
@@yaboyskythagoatman5425 Devin is indeed the man but he wasnt in the band when this came out, was still their original guitarist DL. i think he used a DAR guitar head
Vincents lyrics are always so absurd and the way they re delievered are so fucking intense. I listen to too many bands to count, but the Acacia Strain never fails to get me beyond fucking pumped. I love it.
it's either drop F or F standard but i'm pretty sure it's Drop F. that would mean they tune all strings (including the lowest one) up a half step, then tune the lowest one down a full step. so it's F, C, F, A#, D#, G#, C, F. hope this helped :)
(0:00-0:55) If you know the film "The Devil Inside" Twenty years after Maria Rossi murdered three people, her daughter, Isabella seeks the truth about that terrible night (October 30, 1989)
the fist time i heard this my friend played it in my car. we were sitting in an empty train station parking lot at like 1 in the morning.......... needless to, say i didnt sleep the next two nights
That first bend hits so hard that I can't help but throw my head in a furious nose dive of a headbang. Like, it's so nuts. I swear if there was a heavier tone for it, I'd make it and just rip it.
+ThePunkSG tas is deathcore. dont they talk about murdering women in most of their songs? guess you just called tas gay then said they werent in the same comment xD
This is one of the very FEW bands that are actually hard to classify, they are both deathcore and metalcore while also being modern hardcore all at once.
so an 8 string guitar is naturally tuned to F♯+B+E-A-D-G-B-E, messhugah drops it to F+B♭+E♭-A♭-D♭-G♭-B♭-E♭, now what does the acacia strain tune to? E♭+B♭+E♭-A♭-D♭-G♭-B♭-E♭?
These guys are awesome! I've been searching for some new music to add to my music library, something heavy, dark and brutal and they deffinetly deliver! Can't wait to have all their albums
TAS = Best band to blare and pump iron like a beast, then Warpath mode for several hours after. Watch the fuck out after TAS workout. Or you could break out your black decks and skip the iron
there is two meanings of heavy. one comes with creating a sound focusing on brutality, and another with creating low sounding, down-tempo riffs, something at sabbath's apex they did well given the resources of sound quality they had back then. largely youre right though, the "doomy" sort of heavy has slowly obsolesced.
ive been listening to deathcore for like 7 years now, i still love chugs and breakdowns. and what are you talking about, emotionally TAS is amazing. they have some of the best lyrics in metal. Oh and I Also love deathmetal cuz im not a closeminded prick.
The song that got me into The Acacia Strain years later the intro is still amazing and vicious one of the best bands still going on strong, the Kings🤘🏼💀
I remember when this album came out like it was yesterday. The album art drew me in for a listen and 1:10-1:25 made me tear off my headphones and book it to the counter to buy it. By far my personal favorite they have released.
man, i'm that way with a lot of breakdown-centric music, but just something about TAS will always hold a special place with me. Sure, it's just a massive chuggathon, but it's just so tasty. I think mainly it's the overt violence in Vincent's lyrics, shit just cracks me up.
I hate when people say, "oh these lyrics don't make sense, so they must have no meaning". Just because you didn't understand them does not mean they are meaningless.
Absofriggin'lutely Absofuckinglutely Mandafuckingtory that crushingly dam good album!!!! My personal favorite besides THE COMA WITCH (2 disc set). If you play Doomblade (1:54) at the same time as you play August Burns Red - Back Burner (3:10) you can create a black hole at home. Great for science fair projects for your kids
bar your finger on a fret (like you would do natural harmonics) that doesnt produce very clear natural harmonics (maybe the 3rd or 4th fret??) and drag the pick from the highest string to lowest string. its hard to explain. one of those things you just kinda feel out
the lyrics are just so brutal and negative. but vincent did say that the band would keep getting heavier and more negative until it implodes on itself or something along those lines.
this song is literally about killing magic the gathering creatures with a card called Doomblade.
l m a o
true
Shiva bitch
but.... it's a good card right?
I liked this band growing up, and MTG... how did I not find this until now?
I wish there were other bands that went this hard without sounding like a washing machine full of bowling balls.
Hahahaha
Tanner Thomas one of them few bands that you can somewhat understand them when they scream
True😂
Lmao this is awfully boring
This band rips, but sometimes I like listening to music that sounds like a washing machine full of bowling balls too

This is by far my favorite Acacia Strain song. It's so dirty and heavy.
The decade’s worth of The Acacia Strain that I’ve listened to, this takes the fucking cake for sure
I love driving past a school and blasting this with my windows down
As do I ! Lol I live basically on a college campus , ….. my son thinks it’s funny when I come pick him up at jr high school turned up lolol
I figure people blast enough hip hop we have to even it out with some metal. It's only fair.
Not gonna lie the intro scared me a little
Kyle Langenau thats sad
Watch "The Devil Inside"
The intro to that movie is the intro to this song
Kyle Langenau bro I know. I was scared to listen to this song when I was a younger kid. It gave me nightmares
Too bad it's from a shit movie...
It really fucking jumpscares you doesn’t it
As soon as that first slam hit the first time I heard this song, I knew I was in for something crazy.
great tune for boss fights in dark souls sets the mood.

This song is unbelievable. It is sooooooooooooooooooo brutal! I'm gunna see them in New Orleans December 4th!
I can’t believe this comment is 10 years old. I feel like the crypt keeper
That fuckin intro still gives me chills every time.
why dont they play this anymore
Jesus, that 911 call at the starting is a real one.

More like from the movie The Devil Inside...
+Samuel Adams Which is based on a true call I believe

Wikipedia says these guys are metalcore. This is clearly deathcore.
silly wikipedia
It's not deathcore, deathcore is gay. TAS isn't gay.
+ThePunkSG tas is deathcore. dont they talk about murdering women in most of their songs? guess you just called tas gay then said they werent in the same comment xD
