Lovely video as always! Im struggling to find a logical understanding (so i can remember properly how to use OM TE) but have an example such as the below that cant find a proper explanation WHY is OM TE used here, because is not "In Order to" etc, doesnt seem to fall into the scenarious you mentioned. Any help anyone please?: ""Welk werk vindt u leuk om te doen? Vertel ook waarom.
Ik vind schoonmaken leuk OM TE doen, want ik hou van een schoon huis."
Aha, that's an exception. Usually, leuk is with 'om te' to translate 'nice to'...

Deze zin is het antwoord "het is heel moelijk voor me om te uitleggen." is de gramaticale structuur van deze zin juist ?
Hei, uitleggen is separabel en heeft een object nodig: het is heel moelijk voor me om het uit te leggen. Voor de rest goed!

I have been learning Dutch for 1 month now (it's going well because I already speak German) and I have a question. I have read 2 sentences:
"Het begint te regenen."
"Ik probeer om te praten."
There is "om" in the second sentence but there isn't in the first one. Why is that?

Actually, the second sentence is wrong. It's without om.
This will sound weird, but you'll need at least a word in between om and te, like:
- Ik probeer om snel te praten.
Some verbs can use 'om te' instead of 'te', others can't. This depends on the verb used. But this is really advanced Dutch.

That's 'to know' in English, in Dutch it's simply the plural form of a verb: 'weten' for to know.
hello, what is the difference between "om te" and just "te" for example: "Wij vragen jullie om niet te wachten" and "Jullie moeten niet vergeten te koken" and can i use directly om te in the second sentence! thanks!
Oh. Short question, long answer. In the second sentence, you can indeed use om te. But it's not always the case, it depends on the verb and there are so many variations it's hard to keep track. With proberen, for instance, you'll need at least one word in between the om and the te: 'Hij probeert om het te lezen.' If not, you're not allowed to use om. Just replace it by 'voor' :), it can also be like 'because of'
