To make a bigger fire, you don’t need a bigger fire starter; you just need to put more wood on the fire once it’s going. Really, the wax paper by itself can be used to light some small kindling.
Add melted paraffin to the lint and tube saw them into one inch chunks works better and water proof. Out just use paper egg carton with dryer line and paraffin then cut apart
I have been trying different types of spray paint. I do the 2 1/4 inch kitchen matches. It’s a little elongated prepping this stuff, but I’ve had no problem, lighting one, even after soaking it in the water for a minute or two.
I seen people add vaseline inside the roll but not wrapped in wax paper!! Man now I gotta try this!! Thanks for the video. I can probably make small ones for easier carrying!!
@@sirKhO I’m use to starting fires wet or dry with a match. 4 min already feels like an eternity I don’t think I need longer than that but good info just in case. Thanks for sharing. (Also great spelling of your name :) )

I like to sip wads of dryer lint in wax, like you would dip cotton balls. I don't have a fireplace or outdoor fire pit so yours would not work for me but I do save the cardboard tubes
@@easyprepper101 I used these this weekend. Man they're better then firelogs in my opinion. They burn hot! I added a little wax to mine. Haha. Thank you for the video!
After watching this videos I imagined a lot of things what to use. Now I use the small Pringle’s containers, yogurt cups and I made a “fuse” out of paper and napkins.
So many things to use, did u know.... Pringle's chips alone, starts a fire...last year up North, everything was damp, so I heard of Doritos lighting up (we had Pringle's)....so we tried Pringle's, & it works!! ...of course it doesn't burn long, but long enough to get a 🔥 started!!
Thumbs up! Great suggestion. Thanks for the comment on my channel. Appreciate the support. Also this was a great idea. I am totally going to do this. Looks easy.
4 minutes. Just take 2 bounty paper towel and roll it into a ball and soak it in veggie oil (use alot but not so much that its drenched) and leave it for 2 hrs to overnight and then light it ( it lasts around 8-12 min for me)
@@easyprepper101 u can also make one that lasts one hour. Cut a piece of cardboard in long strip then roll into circular piece and put it in a aluminium can like soda can (cut out the bottom part of it and place in that) or make a cup using tin foil and put it in that and make sure the cardboard is secured (add hot glue to hold it in one piece) then put it in the container (tin foil cup or soda can) then melt candle and pour the hot wax on the rolled cardboard and let it sit for 24-48 hrs then light it on fire ( this lasts easily for 1 hour) its pretty good and even strong winds dont easily blow it out.

Very true.
The wax paper makes it water proof in case it rains when camping and this is all about recycling.

Great idea!
My OCD was triggered by the little piece of lint that flew out, until you put it in the tube, lol. Thanks for that, ; )
Haha! It happens!

Yes, you can use the smaller toilet paper rolls so make it easier for you to carry
I'm making these for my daughter for a Christmas present!
That is such a great idea!
I kept seeing versions with wax and I want an option that won’t melt if kept in an RV or trunk and this is PERFECT!! Thank you so much!!
vaseline, just mix it into your dryer lint.
@@sirKhO can’t just do like the video and not add anything to the lint?
@@kristibunny1620 the purpose of the wax and vaseline is for a slow burn. You could use the lint alone but it'd just burn faster.

Mind blown!!!!!! never thought of this great idea!!!!! Locked in brain .. Now .. Thanks 👌

Nice idea!! I love repurpose, upcycle and reuse....and BUDGET! 👍😉👍
Seems like the wax papers works kind of like a wick. What happens if u twist the wax paper & feed it thru the tube then shove the lint in there?
I will have to try that and see what happens
easyprepper101 let me know how it turns out. Still saving up my dryer lint..
Experiment time! Sounds like a good idea
Great idea. That lint is definitely quick to start.
I’ve not heard “EDC kit” before? That like a bug out bag or what?
I’m going camping this weekend and this really helped

When I use them just to get the fire going. Once the fire is red hot and been burning for a bit, I do not worry about it

Could you melt some wax and pour it on each end of the tube?
You could.
Will it 🔥 longer if you add some cooking oil inside with the lint?
I would a petroleum jelly
@@easyprepper101 I've used cotton balls and petroleum jelly as a fire starter. But, I'm making these this weekend! Thank you!!
what about wrapping them in used news paper
You can do that as well.
How about adding an accelerant like candle wax?
You can do that too if you want
Pretty easy to make and they work really well!!

Thank you for your video:) Wax paper or parchment paper? Looked like parchment🤔
I have used both in the past
Those are nice! I gotta make some of those! Thanks for sharing!
Superb idea my friend...Never thought of using dryer lint. Thank you for sharing👍👍👍👍

Wax paper! I wouldn't have thought of that. I've been using melted wax. Thank you!
Nice idea. I have a lot of sawdust in my shop, maybe stuff them tubes with that and see what happenss.. Thumbs up my friend
Nice, big and cludgy though...
Also can drip wax into the lint or add a bit of paraffin
Is that wax or parchment paper?
Great video and demonstration
Mw and my friend are you doing overnight. I hope this will work very well. Thank you so much.
Did it work?
Trying these this month!

I use an old University physics workbook. Tear out pages as needed, easy storage, no mess or fuss.
That will work too…

Three years ago, before grocery bags (plastic) were banned in Vermont. Just use a big can to store the lint until you use it.
Good to know even if you do have or use other fire starters. 🔥 👍

Isn't the lighter the fire starter? The lint and wax paper are just a fuel to help the "fire starter" (aka lighter ) flame get bigger
I saw another version of this where the guy soaked it in melted candle wax and cut it into slices after it hardens.
I’ll have to look into that because I’m gonna be getting ready to make another batch
The wax Paper was great, to add to a great idea.
Great idea !! Subbed
I sub you back.
Looks like only the wax paper burned
Great idea.
Thank you.
I made a couple things like this myself but not like the ones you had made

I add bees wax to mine and tested it lasted 42 min
Put some jute insideit it last longer
Like Kaylynn below I just di mine in wax, makes a great fire starter! Your system would definitely getcha one going!
That helped so much
Add some crisco to your lint starter it will burn longer crisco firer starter look up RUclips

Ty for talking me along
It is not going to last I've tried it 100s of times
