I just replaced the thermostat this weekend and it was a lot of work! Unplugged the multiple hoses and removed the bolts. I detected a small leak and had to repeat the procedure to make sure the thermostat housing to make existing gaskets looked fine and was properly seated. They did and I ensured no cracks or damage. Still see a leak. Wasn't leaking before I did this. My guess is I'll need to remove a third time and swap out the gaskets. I miss my old Ford that only used one hose and 2 bolts to remove the housing 🙄🙄
Aye boss I have a 2015 Sentra and my issue is that whenever I turn off my AC the fan still blows air into the cabin at full speed pretty much. Now it doesn't turn off or change speeds(it does turn off when i turn the car off). Do you think that's an issue with the thermostat or a fuse ?
thats a new one on me, I doubt it has anything to do with the thermostat since the thermostat controls engine temperature. could be something within the relay. but check this video out. ruclips.net/video/tbrByqsfr5E/видео.html
It has to be just tight enough like to make a seal, otherwise you will squash and destroy your gasket. Tighten just as if you were using little bitty screws into plastic or you will easily squash and destroy your gasket.
I wonder if the 2015 Altima is around the same area. I'm 100% sure I have this issue. Rough idle and the engine doesn't get at proper temperature, always running slightly cooler.
it all depends on the size of the motor. For the most part, if the engines are the same liter in different cars that the motors might be the exact same.
Hi, Thanks for the video. Can you please tell me where to find the radiator fan relay on this model? my one is overheating but fan not coming on. it works for Air con. change the temp sensor but didnt change anything. Thanks!
Is this the same procecure for a 2016 Nissan Sentra SL? The fact that Nissan added TWO thermostats + made it this difficult to change it out, makes me very pissed I even bought a Sentra.
Thank you for the reply! I did this last night and it leaked all of the coolant through the housing itself when I checked this morning. I’m a DIYer and was thinking I might need new gaskets but was having a hard time knowing which one to change.
@@chemicalspore currently have a 1217 as well and changed both thermostats still overheat also the water pump and the radiator and the heater core...currently no loss in cylinder pressure all the way across no coolant shown on plugs or inside the cylinder nor gasses showing on the block tester.. still a slight overheat issue....just crazyness

Make sure the engine is cold when you fill the coolant. Constantly squeeze all the hoses to get help the coolant push through. It will also help to get the air out. But run the engine cold while doing this to prevent over heating. Also using coolant purposed funnels also help. But also keep squeezing the hoses so you longer see air bubbles coming out of the coolant fill.

behind the radiator under the engine block. you should see a hose down there with another thermostat housing

I whish to know where is the other thermostat located?
in the front, in-between the radiator and the engine block.
Question, the thermostat u were changing throughout the video, is that part 64780 or 15112?
64780 is the one I used

I did not

It came with gaskets. Never not use gaskets

The housing doesn’t come with a gasket, only the thermostat itself.

I liked them better when they were Datsun. 240 Fairlady Z

How many gaskets did you change for this replacement? Was it only for the thermostat itself?
just the thermostat. The other gasket was rubber and in good shape for the thermostat housing.
