@@steviebee2455 no, the video was made in 2020, it just has a VHS filter applied and is made in an old style (check description). The audio is from an IBM demonstration of an early speech synthesis (text to speech) program from 1961.
This is genuinely wholesome, the very first computer to sing, it could have done something simple like Happy Birthday or some nursery rhyme, but it sang Daisy Bell, a story about a man who wants to make his wife happy with whatever he has, and is content. I don't see why TikTok thinks this is creepy. If anything, they are the creeps for shaming such a feat in technology.
I think it's just the fact that it's a computer singing (so it doesn't sound human, maybe the uncanny valley has to do with this) + the fact that love songs are just, easily turned creepy with a bit of imagination work. (the half crazy line doesn't help, is my guess). Tldr I agree the song is wholesome and I love the technological history behind it, but I don't see anything like... Morally wrong with a creepy interpretation. It's art, interpretation is what people do with art.
I personally really like the song too, though it's easy to see how they turned it creepy, especially when it goes from a human singer to a creepy one. Horror often stems from nice/innocent things being twisted, like little girls, dolls etc turned evil become really spooky. Gotta say though, the history of the song gives it a lot of conceptual power. Could even see it as the first step towards A.I. if you stretched the concept a bit. 2001 Space Odyssey did something with it.
Well for me i appreciate all of it the video the music and the lyrics because this was created in 1961 early days of technology the video filters using software.
@@user-vf4gf7le9e it’s creepy because a soulless thing is singing it. It’s just a reminder that artificial intelligence is cool but can also be a scary thing…

Insane to think this was done in 1961... imagine how the scientists felt the first time when it all just worked! I like the video, I feel it suits the tune well.
No, the song was actually made in the 1880's but the video models were made in 1961
@@steviebee2455 no, the video was made in 2020, it just has a VHS filter applied and is made in an old style (check description). The audio is from an IBM demonstration of an early speech synthesis (text to speech) program from 1961.
@@mandarin1257 thanks for explaining to the oliver guy

This is genuinely wholesome, the very first computer to sing, it could have done something simple like Happy Birthday or some nursery rhyme, but it sang Daisy Bell, a story about a man who wants to make his wife happy with whatever he has, and is content.
I don't see why TikTok thinks this is creepy. If anything, they are the creeps for shaming such a feat in technology.
bruh ikr, tik tokers are easily scared by this
tiktok is just easily scared
Yall know exactly that this song has an eerie feel to, youre just trying to find excuses to shit on tiktok
THIS IS SO CUTE AND WHOLESOME IT BRINGED ME TEARS
I feel bad for him not being able to buy a carriage for daisy..
How much does it cost...
45.99$ he doesn't have enough money
They might be in a diff country where it's more expensive, or maybe they're really poor. Not everyone has $45 you know
But hey..! At least she look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two
@@cool_josh593 45$ costs 2,281.95 php
@@cool_josh593 The song was made in 1892, so cars didn't exist yet, and a carriage was expensive

Everyone thinks this song is “creepy” but it’s really just about love despite the kind of person or how wealthy they are. It’s actually really sweet !
it's really cute to think that the scientists made a robot have a voice and the first demonstration of that was a song about love
Man is the music of level fun "The Backrooms-Level Fun" search that
@@alexchannel2810 someone just put this song in this level, daisy bell was used ot the first singing computer, do more research.
I know it is but you can’t fight back opinions peoples opinions changed and we can’t do nothing about it
Yee
This is the first robot ever
OK I DONT CARE HOW TIKTOK MAKES IT CREEPY AND SCARY BUT CANT WE JUST TALK ABOUT HOW CUTE THE LYRICS ARE
EXACTLY THO
Finally, there’s so many comments saying the same thing
yes but the music is creepy. The lyrics aren’t though
Well for me i appreciate all of it the video the music and the lyrics because this was created in 1961 early days of technology the video filters using software.

I'll never understand why TikTok turned such a sad, but sweet song into something creepy and unsettling - which it is not.
Shits creepy bro.
if used properly it can be creepy
@@Callisto8233 facts. It would make a good theme song for a horror film. Would it not?
It's probably creepy because of the distorted, nasally, radio-ish sound
@@user-vf4gf7le9e it’s creepy because a soulless thing is singing it. It’s just a reminder that artificial intelligence is cool but can also be a scary thing…
"Daisy daisy" 🗣📢🔊🔊🔊🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I think we should all appreciate the fact that this song was a very important in technology it started every thing like vocoloid etc this was the beginning of it all

Yes, I love it!

I know this isn't related to your comment or the video but that profile pic of yours is cute.
btw it’s the first computer to sing
@@claudiyuh9909 I looked at the vid of the computer singing waaaay before I listened to this one and it really blew my mind.
The reason why people find this creepy is simply lack of information. The lyrics are difficult to hear at first. However once the lyrics you find the song wholesome. People just need context.
For me it just sounds creepy but yeah it’s really wholesome
because the voice is unsettling (yes i know that this is the first voice synthesizer)
yah when i heard it in a tik tok it sounded like
"crazy, crazy, give me your as# for food, im mad!
yah i know it's weird, its just in the tiktok i heard it from some guy wanted to eat something from the refrigerator at 3am, and the refrigerator got angry
The way its singing scares me aswell as the music in the background but the lyrics are cute
When I heard it, it sounded like "it won't be a violent marriage" or something like that
I'm a little scared of this song
