Never thought much about the Samurai before now, but I might need to re-think his usefulness.

I will pretty much always use Katana Slice upgrades. Because IMHO, most of the time, you want to be sure to hit while not using your 3rd roll. And since you got 3 faces with katanas on each dice, you most likely get some after 2 rolls. If I'm not not close to activate another ability after my first roll, I will always try to get as many katanas as possible for the second roll to be sure that I won't lose an attack.

Thanks for your analysis. I find them very instructives and well driven. I didn't find a lot of serious stuff about DT on Ytbe, and I appreciate a lot your content :) Keep it up !

Nice video mate, here are some thoughts on the upgrades:
Katana Slice II and III: Sell
    Wakizashi II: Upgrade
Wakizashi III: I think this upgrade is CP dependent. If I have cash I will upgrade it, otherwise sell.
Solemnity II: I am 50/50 on this one, really think it is game state dependent.
Budo II: I think this is a great upgrade and should be one of the top priorities.
    Masamune II: Sell
Hagakure II: For me this is dependent on the cards I have in hand and my opponent's hero. If I am going offensive and want to craft and Ultimate, I will upgrade. If playing on the defensive side, I sell.
Stand Tall: Upgrade early to mid game if CP allows, sell late game or if CP poor.

Important note: If you already have two Honor tokens and you're about to get one, you can spend one of them to make room for the incoming token.
So for abilities like Budō and Hagakure, you can actually increase their damage by +4 because of the two Honor tokens (+3), and the one incoming (+1).

I'm not sure about that. The abilities say first get honor then deal dmg. Technically you can use your 2 tokens (dmg modify) not until you deal dmg. At this point you already wasted the one token you get from the ability because of the stack limit.

And don't forget you get the honor from your passive ability at the end of your turn, so you can't use it in the same turn.

@@DerSchaefrich False. You're allowed to use honor tokens to boost damage from abilities before you gain new ones. This is because status effects count as instant actions.

Samurai may not be a complex character but is one of the strongest. I always lose against him lol

Samurai is the most consistant character. The way you beat him is leaning into what your character does best. If you are noticeably losing more than winning against Samurai it may help to reassess how you are playing your character.
