You have very positive energy in your channel 😊 we all hope Rivian will make through 4 quarters. Happy holidays to everyone in the Rivian’s community 🎉😊
I ordered my Trimax at the beginning of June with a promise of delivery in October or November. At the end of November, they told me it was on its way and could be picked up anytime after Dec 20th. I then heard from them last week that my Trimax was in Oahu and could be picked up after Dec 27th. Trying to squeak pick up before the end of the year. Oh well, I can't ship it to Maui until Jan 12th because Young Brothers shipping shuts down for 4 weeks for the holidays. IT'S COMING! 8 days away from pick up. Thanks Mike for the update! Keep it up!
You will have to wait. Looks like a very nice car, but Rivian will have to nail production much better than they have so far or trying to make the R2 at mass market volume while losing lots of money on every car will be very bad for the company.
@@privettoli I like the R2 because it’s more affordable and still bigger than my current car, so it feels like a good upgrade for me. I also appreciate the culture at Rivian, the team seems genuinely passionate about their work, and it shows in their designs and customer interactions.
Positive gross margin would be nice, but just keep in mind you are looking for around a 25% positive gross margin for potential profitability. Tesla has had I think five quarters TOTAL with a gross margin of 17% or less, and still burnt money their first ten years of production. So positive gross margins are better than negative, but don’t start counting egg laying poultry and don’t put all your money in Rivian stock, they can still very easily go to zero.
Hollo, i am Korean who want to ride Rivian...always thank you for uploaded your all Rivian videos, i can listen about rivian news well even i am not in the US because of you
Thought there wasn’t much difference between Gen1 and Gen2 until I received a Gen1 loaner. Feels drastically different and the cameras are pretty horrible in Gen1.
4:30 yes I saw a review from a prominent tesla owner who took a long road trip with the gen 2 rivian and the audio was TERRIBLE .. in the comments rivian owners noted this was a known issue and does not affect many gen 2 vehicles and that he likely was given a dud to test drive .. but how many negative impressions on tesla owners looking to ditch Elon did that make? DON’T GIVE TEST VEHICLES WITH FAULTY ANYTHING INCLUDING AUDIO .. DO GIVE TEST VEHICLES WITH WORKING EVERYTHING INCLUDING AUDIO
I do, by no means do I advise anyone to purchase any stock, I review my truck and report weekly news. You do with your money what you will. Rivian makes an awesome product, let's hope they keep making it awesome.
@ Yeah, a bunch. Unfortunately I’ve spent more time in a gen1 loaner than I have in my gen2. Mine was dead on arrival and had to have all four suspension modules replaced. It shudders when at 100% SOC and has a noticeable air gap around the passenger door. The lidar sensors continually turn off & I’ve had the regen braking fail more than once. As a consumer I understand, early adopters need to deal with the growing pains, but as an investor I was & still am absolutely livid.
Why is that? Technically they are the only way to get a quad motor, also they have more parts then Gen 2 and are just as good in my opinion. A mild price drop seems appropriate for a Gen 1
Can someone explain how Rivian can possibly have a 4Q24 Gross profit? It appears Rivian is going to recognize a year's worth of tax credits in 4Q24. And that's how Rivian plans on reporting a gross profit in 4Q24. But isn't this a violation of GAAP? Shouldn't the tax credits be recognized in the quarter earned? Specifically, per 3Q24 earnings call... "We expect to have a modest GAAP gross profit in the fourth quarter of 2024. This is supported by three key drivers. First, revenue per unit is expected to increase driven by an increase in non-vehicle revenues such as regulatory credits, service, remarketing, software, and other services. We now expect to have a total of approximately $300 million of regulatory credit sales in 2024."

Thank you! I honestly can't wait for you to get that absolute beauty onto Maui. The road to Hana has no idea what is coming 🤙
@@MikeKantorskiTech LOL! I gave up my Trackhawk for this beauty. I think Drift Mode is going to come in handy. Hang on!
YK I'll have to experiment between Drift Rally and Sport. Chw.
Hope to see more Rivians next time I'm in Maui! 😅
@@privettoli I saw one for rent on Turo.👍
Can't wait for the R2!!
I’m so excited for R2 as well! We are so close, just a year out

@@tribalypredisposed Worth the wait.
What do you like about R2? It's much smaller, I personally wish they made a bigger truck with bigger battery.

The lease deals are really good! I see more Rivians on the roads here in VA. Hope they can improve sales.
Another stellar video to end 2024! Thanks Mike!

Cameras are definitely not the best. Gen 2 seems to be much more refined. I need to get more time in a Gen 2
Rivian needs to open the configurator already so they can see how many R2 orders are going to be higher end or lower end configurations.
I agree, I want to see all the money I'm about to burn, happily burn!
If they open the configurator now they will have less freedom changing options.
True, they won’t open it until they have everything set in stone
Rear wheel steering in gen 3!!
Could happen!
The cheapest lease is still over $10k a year total with taxes, fees, downpayment averaged over the 36 months. That is insane about of money to burn.
You could have 5 ionic 5 leases for the price of one of these
The average car lease costs $487 per month. Cars are expensive in general
There are cheap EV options on the market, Rivian is definitely not in that category.
I would ask for a $250 credit on purchase not points ❤
Ohh that could be a good negotiation
@ the guides are so good I’m sure they can finagle something

Ohh damn, I’m surprised, but also understand there’s going to be growing pains
Be great if they actually leased to the whole country and not just the select 38 states...
I hope by the end of 2025 that becomes a reality
Did I miss the gross profit discussion!??
Earning report early January, projected to hit by management, time will tell
100k for a rivian 1st gen is INSANE
