Villa had some special players. Paul McGrath and Steve Staunton to world class Irish defenders at the time. Dalian Atkinson was gifted as was dean Saunders. And Tony Daley was rapid.
Stops a guaranteed goal by handballing it. Ref: Red Card Commentator: "crazy piece of legislation." LMAO I'm glad we've moved passed that sort of thinking.
Yes, daft that some people (rightly) considered a deliberate foul outside the box when a player was through on goal as a justified red card whereas a deliberate hand ball to stop a goal being scored wasn't one!
There complaining about kanchelskis getting sent off but he deliberately handled the ball to deny a certain goal that's about as plain a rule as one can get
I was there with my 14 year old daughter. Both Villa season ticket holders. She eventually married a Villa fans. Clever girl. The chant that day was " Where's your treble gone" Under Unai, glory days are back 🎉🎉
Mad to think that Ron Atkinson was Man Utd manager for five years and didn't win the League Cup then beat them twice in the final with different clubs after he left!
Brilliant you stopped them rags doing the domestic treble!!!Villa were brilliant that day!!!My uncle had a bet when he lived in Walton, Liverpool, that villa would win and he's neighbours didn't think so,come payday my uncle was the one laughing and them crying when they had too pay up!!!
Man United’s season almost crumbled after this, Oldham nearly beat them in the FA Cup and Blackburn nearly caught them in the league before they ran out of steam,
I am was at this game and I've NEVER seen so many pissed people at a match, I there were blokes unconscious on the floor that you had to step over. I missed Dalians goal as I was having a piss but what a day out we had UTV
Ya should have given your ticket to someone who deserved it and not be fluting around in a final at Wembley shish drink alcohol after the game not before
Remember me an my brother had the muller shirts then because we'd won the cup new shirts had cup winners on the top of the villa crest .. we wanted those shirts bad ... there was a shop in Bournemouth that had one hanging in the window... I had the idea of taping wire coat hangers together and about 3 in the morning with my younger brother (I was 14 him 12 ) we sneeked out and ran to high street and fished it out the window and through the letter box , true story 👌
@@jimmypopt.v.3037 hate lies there's no point , everyone has stories to tell and life's far stranger than fiction ... but bullshitters are a plague on society and a curse we have to live with...its especially rampant in Bournemouth believe me

RIP atkinson
And Les Sealey.
Brian Moore was a legendary commentator
About time for Villa to get back to winning trophies again, been too long. #UTV
This was the first proper game of football I ever watched!
Stops a guaranteed goal by handballing it.

Commentator: "crazy piece of legislation." LMAO
I'm glad we've moved passed that sort of thinking.
It’s laughable to hear that commentary
ITV sucking United's dick even back then - Sky Sports suck it now.
Just the way he says 'legislation', like he's trying to blame the government for the football rule.
Yes, daft that some people (rightly) considered a deliberate foul outside the box when a player was through on goal as a justified red card whereas a deliberate hand ball to stop a goal being scored wasn't one!
Two of the best kits ever in the Premier League....
you had some crazy designs back then
I liked Villa's '92-93 kit. My first one.
Not so sure about Man Utd’ kit it Villa’s is a beauty
@@AshesHereos have a retro shirt of that season. Love it! Mita Copiers ,classic
Better than the crappie polyester of today, polyester is rubbish.
That yellow and green Man Utd kit made me wish I supported them. Amazing kits from that time.
30 years ago today ❤
a day to forget for les sealey (RIP)
Villa were fantastic that day, just meant to be
Lol at them griping about the red card. Couldn’t have been any clearer!
Who’s griping?
Back in the days when football was good
There complaining about kanchelskis getting sent off but he deliberately handled the ball to deny a certain goal that's about as plain a rule as one can get
I love the simpering commentary not really coping with the fact that Villa bossed the game and Big Ron out foxed Sirrallex.
Kevin Keagan? I love that Villa clapped his mouth shut in this game.
Yeah Keegan loved United 😂 embarrassing
Handballing a ball off the line is crazy lol. Funny to see the Man Utd bias was alive and well all the way back then too.
Just a time when people weren't dying for someone sent off every single game like nowadays.
Manure bias for the last 30 years
Fergie looking at his watch. Praying for 15 minutes fergie time which was normal those days..so the officials can get them back in the game
An embarrassing comment and you should know better.
@no1wasgeorgiebest not as embarrassing as supporting manure thats for sure.
I was like 7 years old when I watched this...Great times...utv
i was at this game..the atmosphere was even better than it sounds in the footage. UTV.

Under Unai, glory days are back 🎉🎉
My first ever trip to Wembley so it was always gonna be a memorable occasion.Disappointing result but Villa deserved it.

Beautiful Aston VILLA beats the most hated club in Britain.
Hated over bearing fans SUPPORTERS.
Cry more

@tmckboston417 so someone won a bet on a football match? Great story.
At least United fans didn't have far to travel home since most of them at that time lived in London.
'Oh! Don't send him off, don't send him off'. Typical sycophantic commentary.
Man United’s season almost crumbled after this, Oldham nearly beat them in the FA Cup and Blackburn nearly caught them in the league before they ran out of steam,
That first villa goal was slick...like a Wenger arsenal goal
I was there what a great day that was .

Had Utd not lost could have even won Domestic Treble
VAR would have ruled the first goal out, clear offside!
Sarcasm?
Villa smashed a good manure side that day..sorry Norwich
😤😤
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Murdocke89 ruined the whole year for me lol
Well done Villa. The best team won
