  • Since 1975, the IAAF has accepted separate automatically electronically timed records for events up to 400 metres. Starting on January 1, 1977, the IAAF has required fully automatic timing to the hundredth of a second for these events. Jim Hines' 1968 Olympic gold medal run was the fastest recorded fully electronic 100 metre race up to that date, at 9.95 seconds.

We don't talk enough about how fast was Asafa, and how he dominated some of his race from the first meters. 🐐👑

Indeed. You need to be consistently running sub 9.75 to even have a chance at breaking the record.

    それまで100分の1秒単位,一番大きい更新幅で0.05秒だったのを、一回で一気に0.11秒も更新したボルトは人類史の想定を凌駕する大バグだった説

And they've regained dominance since 2017. The majority of medals won in the 100 meters in the World Championship and Olympics(gold, silver or bronze) were won by Native Black Americans: Christian Coleman, Fred Kerley, Travon Bromell, Justin Gatlin, Marvin Bracy, and Noah Lyles.
