I am so incredibly proud of you, I know how hard this story is for you tell and relive. You inspire me everyday as you are the most positive person I have ever met, thank you for being vulnerable and being you. You amaze me every single day, you find hope even in the worst situations and I am so grateful to have you. Proud of you for sharing your story.

I'm terrified of what happened to you. It's actually so so bad, that you, that people need to go through this. But it's very good, that you still have your leg and that you're happy.❤

Hi Millie, Not sure if you remember me, but we went to school many years ago, and I just wanted to send a message to you to say that I am so sorry to hear about what you went through. You are such an inspiration though in not only sharing your story, but also in finding positives in anything in life. Since my experience of being bullied at school for being different (due to being autistic and having epilepsy) it has also encouraged me to write a book on my experiences and share my story with people, and I was wondering if you would like to reconnect with each other as it seems like we have now had experiences of trauma that we could share. Like I said, I am inspired by your story and hope you continue to reach your dreams in life. Send me a reply if you would like to

I am so glad I found your account. I am a 5X right leg surgical patient. My last surgery was a broken femur repair that had been broken for 6 months and wouldn’t heal. Thank you for posting your story. It’s been really hard to find anyone with similar circumstances. It’s a complicated world. My next surgery is a straight rod OR amputation. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m an equestrian. And I have been for ten and a half years. Mind you I’m almost 16, so that’s been my whole life ever since I was around 5-6. I’ve never sustained an injury this bad. And I hope not too, it’s so incredible how you’ve recovered and gone through the mental difficulties of an injury like this. I’m so incredibly inspired. ❤

i always knew the full idea of hospital, my dad being a doctor. It is truly awful what some people have to go through, and arguably even more impressive is the courage some people, like you, to get through this. Well done, and thanks for educating others on the realism and experience of serious injuries. 👏

The exact same thing happened to me(up until the falling part) when I was 10 and I was with my 12 year old cousin(i’m not going to say how long ago for obvious reasons) anyway I was very young and they were running towards a very very busy road. I was with an instructor but obviously if ur horse is galloping there’s not much a lone person on the ground can do. To be fair it was our fault but we were young meaning I was so panicked I just froze and screamed. Luckily no one was injured apart from my confidence and somehow I stayed on. You are so brave amd I’m so proud horses r hard animals to ride so well done for keeping going I fell a while back and injured my back it was so heartbreaking not to be able to ride but we’ll done and keep going your doing amazing❤❤❤❤

I broke my ankle while hiking, so many people had been injured on that same trail because it was extremely muddy. I literally thought i sprained it, i had never broken a bone before so i totally underestimated the experience i would have. I too was trying to walk on my broken bone thinking it wasnt that bad, i literally was thinking "wow im so weak for crying over a pulled muscle" like girl no it was CRACKED. I thought the cracking i heard was the tearing of my ligaments but no that was all my ligaments tearing AND my bones cracking.
Nobody warned me how much of a mental health impact that an injury could have. Im eternally grateful that this isnt permanent. I havent done well adjusting to this, but im so grateful i dont have to accept this as my normal forever.

I had a similar situation last august but it didn’t end nearly as badly. I was riding bareback down to my horses pasture and a bunch of horses spooked at something so he bolted. I was riding with a snaffle dressage bridle so I couldn’t stop him. He didn’t stop until he feel which was basically right after I fell. I think he fell because I hit his legs on my way down and I feel like I remember hearing him fall. He was fine but I landed pretty badly but got out of the situation with a strained tendon in my rotator cuff

When you said about the sprained ankle I felt so bad because I've sprained both my ankles and I have experienced that pain, so if I multiply that by 2000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000, then we had the same exact pain level!

Incredible story of survival, perseverance and strength! I was in a major car accident where I blacked out on a hill and the car hit over 100km into a road barrier and flipped through a fence and field. The 5-star rated car saved my puppy and my life and a man (I call the angel) found me and he was the one who saved my life, he called the ambulance and rescue helicopter, he held my hand as they cut me out of the car and he looked after my beautiful red heeler Aussie dog by putting him in his car so Aussie was safe. My femur had smashed through my pelvis and I remember feeling high as a kite but I thought I had "lost my legs" as I could not move them. It was weird as instead of being upset I felt at peace. They later told me this was what "shock" feels like. The paramedics thought I had a spinal injury and had to cut me out of the car and fly me as the crash happened rurally. It was only when they moved me that I realised I was in pain on my right side, it was such a deep guttural pain. It was a surreal experience and same as you when they flew me in a helicopter to emergency I remember thinking oh its not that serious. When the surgeons came to tell me about the break I thought "oh I will be walking in a week or so" and they said no, try three months and a year of no running or impact sport. It was an 8 hr surgery and I was lucky to have the best acetabulum surgeon arrive in rural nz the next day. The hardest part was my family were all in Australia and couldn't get to NZ to be with me due to covid lockdowns. It was the man who found me (my angel) that stayed by my side through the whole ordeal. I had to learn to walk again, the rehab was extensive and the mental challenge you go through "facing the realities" of your healing and physical limits is unbelievable! You find a self within that feels so alone yet so strong. Powerful experience going through major injuries so your story has had a profound impact, thank you for sharing. I always say too that the worse pain is finding out who is really there for you and who is not, people you thought were friends fall away when you go through something like this. Big aroha (love) from Aotearoa (NZ) to you Millie!

I had surgery on my broken leg last month (not nearly as serious as yours) and watching this was oddly therapeutic. You're incredibly strong to have been stuck in the hospital for weeks; I was having anxiety attacks just going in for day surgery. I found it funny that in the beginning of the video you were saying that you didn't want to make a fuss over your accident because maybe it was just a sprain...hahaha, I did the exact same thing. Us women never want to make a fuss even when our legs are broken 😂

I can relate to the overdose on morphine/painkillers story. My sister was in hospice and they over-medicated her one night and all she did was stare straight up at the ceiling fan spinning; she could no longer see me. She was completely unresponsive for hours and I thought this was going to be her last night on this earth. I burst into tears and when I kissed her goodbye I thought it was going to be the last time I'd ever see her. But she came out of it the next day (I didn't know she was over-medicated at the time) and we got to spend several more months with her. I can only imagine what it must have felt like from her perspective... and yours.
