It's amazing how they all cover themselves in armor, but always forget the helmet.
Yeah that's a movie thing. But at this stage Morions were coming into fashion and armets were becoming passe.
This movie had so much potential, but it was tarnished by overuse of quick-cut camerawork and focusing too much on the fictional fiance instead of the historical war hero Jan Zizka.
Seriously, the camera work is obnoxious
@@TheDrunkHamster I nearly got motion sickness just watching this
The gore is pretty good tho
The quick cut to the practical fx of people faces absolutely smashed is the best part wtf are you talking about
@@justinyoung8815 just makes those quick cuts more entertaining innit
Not the fucking sniper crossbow. 💀
lol
From Wikipedia: "People in the 15th century fought in Conan the Barbarian armour and used small squads of elite ninja snipers to rassle in swimming pools. Also shoot horse in bum = make horse go fast."
Comment of the Year 2024
Watched this movie for the first time last night. The political side of the plot was a little hard to follow but I'm a sucker for non fantasy medieval movies. Absolutely lived it
It's not a GREAT film but it is... interesting. There's a good dynamic with Jan's group but the plot tried for the historical epic. And it just didn't have the right flow and focus on the right events for that to be satisfying. Contrast Kingdom Of Heaven, dunno how you may feel about the film but it does a good job of identifying the right plot points to emphasise and draw out, to give it the epic scope. This could've been the best Robin Hood movie. It's still very enjoyable for anyone fond of gritty medieval fiction but just makes me want more.
ben foster has become such a great actor
Look out for him in the upcoming movie ‘Emancipation’ with will smith

I don’t care if this movie is good or bad I literally enjoy that right alongside other movies, including the last duel, and Northman including. And even the selected theaters of Conan the barbarian
All these movies were such a waste of a theme. Even the movie Legion with such a badass presentation of heaven and angels. I loved the theme but hated the waste of an opportunity.
The last duel was the most ''realistic'' of them and the most well made. Here they obviously show Jan Zizka as a hero and a good man. He is considered a hero but the bad things he did are not shown + of course the combat tactics, armor, it's really not realistic. But I agree, even though it's not really realistic it's still a cool movie.
I remember thinking who was that guy drinking, he looked both manly and very savage. Then I realised it was Magnus Samuelsson 😅
Didn't expect this movie to be this brutal and exciting XD
i am from czech kingdoms and in this age - NO TOO MANY IRON armory ! here fought in light armor, only leader and they used criminal expeditions have heavy armor
Interesting.
Ona je to stejně dobrá komedie.
až na to, že je to Itálie a jedná se pravděpodobně o najaté žoldnéře...
Wow, this movie is a crime. Hus and Zizka are a little known story that had huge repercussions on morality, religion, warfare, human rights, geography and politics. They had a budget that led to landing Michael frickin Caine as well as other very talented actors. The production is exceptional but after all that they boiled the story down and cut scenes so we could get Braveheart meets Game of Thrones in Czechia. What happened here??
Hollywood happened, mate
Why isn't Foster wearing a helmet? His melon looks ripe for the splitting
Me watching the camera work
😵 🤢 🤮
Also peep how stiff the horse is at 1:34
One of best medieval movies
Watch The King and outlaw king then see if you feel the same
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
RIP movies' industry. Medieval movies used to be epic and unique two decades ago. Now it's just another Justice League or Marvel based team of unbeatable, dynamic and depressing characters.
Watch "Outlaw King" (2018)
@@warstoriesinkino thanks for the suggestion! I will check it.
This is based on a true story lol
Watch The Last Duel and The King too. Black Death and Pilgrimmage are two other small scale medieval action films that are much more grounded and realistic. If you want small scale but slightly fantastical medieval films then The Green Knight and The Northman are great aswell.
I will say… the use of a mace is much more better than a sword in armour combat. +1 for that inclusion
Im so disapointd by this movie. Even just this scene is such bullcrap. Yea sure...They just push a horse...Yea sure...They use crossbow as sniper rifle...Yea sure...Armor dont stop a dart...Yea sure...Žižka wasnt extremely inteligent general, he was just action hero.
The more I look into things, the more the 1400s keep coming up as the most non stop period of warfare and carnage everywhere.
Why do folks always separate in films about medieval battles?
If I was facing off against another group of melee equipped men I'd get my group to stand together and fight.
Lines break. Always do and it’s every man for their self at that point. They always form lines at first and one or the other advance..eventually it spreads and breaks, to make matters worst one or the other, or both have cavalry (horses) to bust through all lines and create massive chaos and confusion.
This scene here looks like an ambush so not much you can do at that point.
When you see cavalry on horses that’s the most utmost fear a man in that time can witness
It was an ambush. The cavalry got there first and got rekt. The footmen were far behind to change the outcome.
Lemme just YEET this horse, fellas.
People underestimate the effectiveness of the mace let alone it's common usage
There's like 9 cuts In 5 seconds I can't even watch this shit lol
this is the amount of cuts in one scene.!? It’s no wonder I haven’t seen the full movie.
Jan Zizka needs a hidden blade
No man can push a horse like that
I suggest you look up Magnus Samuelson
I knew Ben Foster was going to be big when I saw Alpha Dog when I was a teenager
This mission in Kingdom Come Deliverance was not .... :-)
This takes place one year before KDC. The capturing of king Wenceslaus is in this movie.
@@RadekCrazy1 i saw the movie but this scene is not about the capture of the king.
@@agentw4b I wrote "in this movie" not in this scene
Where can I watch this movie?
Medieval, a war movie starring Ben Foster, Sophie Lowe, and Til Schweiger is available to stream now. Watch it on ROW8, Prime Video, Apple TV, Vudu or Redbox.

This was actually cool. But the only thing bad is the camera shots and movement….
This looks like a B movie from 2005.
Jesus are the costumes bad.
cant take this seriously. All the enemies are just idiots
Oh trust me. This was something that happened a lot irl with armies and their leaders doing thr most idiotic things. So this doesn't surprise me lol.
Now the atrocious camerawork howevee
Boring gengre blueprint - always the same characters, settings, gestures, big bad guys. Looks like a fairground show.
chivalry 2
4/10. 🎥
Watched it last night. Was impressed with it for many reasons, including the fact that the filmmakers didn't bend the knee to the woke and kept the cast ethnically accurate (ie white). Enjoyed seeing the range of weapons employed, especially Zizka's mace. However, I couldn't help but cringe at the fact that Zizka's men wore no helmets into battle. 4/5. Recommended.
LMFAO
This is terrible.
