Big love to Fabrice for sharing your story with the HH fam. The world is a better place with Fab in it! Proper lovely bloke. Who fancies a fourth Fab clip tomorrow...?! 🇳🇺
Oh go on then!
We need more fab
Yesss defo!
Cmon maynnn
Massive inspiration ❤️👑🙌
Fabrice is such an inspiration and seems like an absolutely lovely fella, really enjoyed this episode
He's a beautiful soul!
U have a lovely head
I’m a Bolton fan and I remember watching the Liverpool game the following day on sky and all game they were singing muambas name
Adrian is in goal today he's gonna be grand, he won't be conceding 6 unlike the other lot 😂
@@HappyHourPodcast get Craig lad on the show !
it’s crazy how before fabrice collapsed, there weren’t any cardiologists or specified heart doctors at pitchside. This man might’ve been the reason that Erikson survived his cardiac arrest as he had the proper medical care🤷♂️
Even more shocking is that it happened to other players around that period and also that some people didn't learn from it. Nouri got awful treatment and he was not so fortunate as muamba. Also shoutout to the cardiologist who was in the stands who saved Muamba.
wait, so, there are heart-specific doctors pitch side at games today?
Aidan Elve there are more specified doctors now but only at bigger games
European football in the big leagues and internationally got a lot more serious with Ned responses after Muamba.
A Tottenham fan was a heart doctor or something and ran onto the pitch and helped a lot
I was diagnosed with cancer on my birthday 5 years ago. I’m saying this because I just felt like the most unlucky person in the world when I found out, just like Muamba. It took me some time but I realized I was very lucky even though it wasn’t good luck. When I was sitting there truly just looking at my own mortality I realized in my specific situation I’m very lucky to be alive. I realized that we aren’t guaranteed tomorrow’s. That’s how I try to live everyday now. I’ve been cancer free for 4 years now and I’m blessed to be typing this. If you are reading this just know that you are loved by someone and you belong in this world.❤️
Big up you 🙏👊
Glad you got better man, that's awesome
you’re a legend mate, i hope you live a fantastic life
Congrats. That’s what we love to hear 🎉❤️
Glad you're doing good now mate!
Wow, what a story and what a lovely guy! ❤
Hi RUclips big fan 😂
Edit:idk why but RUclips gave this a like
Hey RUclips
one of the most random comments I've ever seen.
Well, I didn't see this comment coming

Its absolutely fantastic that you got a great guy like this on. I remember the game very well. Those paramedics are legends!
The man that saved him was a spurs fan who was a cardiologist and he ran on the pitch to save him
@@fdc2367 yeah what a legend🙌
It was the Spurs team doctor and the Bolton medical team and that cardiologist told the ambulance to take him to a specialist hospital
Seriously lads, this pod is getting better with every clip. Jack, you’re incredible at talking to people. You’ve got a way with ye. Great stuff.
need to stay off that phone during. very disrespectful to his guests.
@@every2464 shut up 🤦🏼♂️
Fabrice is an absolute inspiration. Probably in my top 5 episodes. Still remember everything about that moment. St Patrick's Day, evening kick off, I had just come in from playing a match. 15 year old me had just sat down, dinner in hand, when it happened. Literally just sat there in shock. Had no affiliation to either team but had tears streaming down my face when "Fabrice Muamba" rung out around White Hart Lane. The man is a walking miracle.
Brilliant episode lads fair play, what a great guest to have!
Tht
So many young lives saved off the back of this ❤️ So thankful Fabrice survived that, and so grateful of the increased awareness and research into similar heart conditions since 🇳🇺
Such an inspiring human. Great guy, glad to see him healthy and doing well!!❤️
I was the same age as Muamba was when I had my cardiac arrest back in 2014. The bloody doctors showed me Van Loo, who had a internal defibulator installed in 2008 and went down (and back up) in 2009. Now you have Daley Blind, and of course Eriksen who isn't back to playing yet but was an absolute champ.
A pro football pitch is a relatively fantastic place to have a cardiac arrest. I really appreciate the efforts of Muamba to spread AEDs and promote CPR training so that people anywhere and everywhere have a chance. In my case, if my mother didn't know what she was doing, I'd be dead or too much of a carrot to be typing here.
Go learn CPR, folks.
Glad you survived brother! Imo learning CPR is so important.
Yes learn CPR. Glad youre ok
I was 16 when I was sat in the Paxton Road stand for that game. Was never so scared or felt more helpless in my life. Fabrice has a special place in Spurs hearts for his amazing recovery! I’m sure that incident must have had some influence on me now I’ve gone on to become a nurse ☺️
Fair play to you 👏🏼👍🏼
@@millwall9938 thank you 🙏
Salute to you sir! 👏
“That was the last time I played football” …
Que the intro music
I’m 23 and it’s such a sobering reminder that life can change so quick, what an inspiration this man is
How can you not love this guy? Such a pure and genuine guy. Jack - its a talent you have to make people feel so comfortable and be so open. Appreciate these kind of interviews pal!
I spoke to this guy at a wedding in 2017. I was pretty drunk so I wasn’t speaking fluently but the general gist was that I told him that I remember him being a really solid player for Bolton and that I was glad to see him so healthy now. He was really humble and polite the whole time and even took a selfie with me. A true gentleman
"Tugged at the nations heart strings" not a great pun to use
Just shows how important it is for defibrillators to be at all football stadiums.
A defibrillator would not have worked in this case. A defibrillator is there if the heart fibrillates, where the hearts pulse is erratic/off. If your heart stops, chest compressions and CPR is the only thing that can help. A good to know tip.
@@vamppro1778 Funnily enough Muambas heart didn't actually stop. It was in Ventricular Fibrillation which is a shockable rhythm.
@@hmaster3313 then a defibrillator would have worked, learn something new everyday
I'm an American and a Spurs fan. My future wife and I went to the UK for the first time in March of 2012 to go to this game at old White Heart Lane. It was a beautiful night and the weather was perfect but then Muamba collapsed and it was terrifying. They were frantically doing CPR on the pitch and the whole place went quiet which is surreal at a Premier League match. Tottenham handled it with class. I kept up on his story and was shocked to learn his heart stopped for over an hour. I was so happy he made it through ok. Such a good dude. Go Spurs.
As a Bolton fan this is a difficult watch. Thankful that he is alive and well now. He is such an amazing soul
He was 2 years above me at school. We played teachers v students and I was left mid and he was next to be in cm.. up close it looked like Iniesta, you don't realise how good he was and how good these mid table prem players are.
Wow
“It tugged at the nations heart strings… excuse the pun” was such a partridge comment loool
ikr ffs jack lol
Really tragic stuff
I remember this as i was in the south stand, park lane. I remember it going completely silent and then both sets of fans chanting together, then some guy running across the pitch who'd obviously recognised what had happened.
He seems like the most humble bloke as well. Just someone you could sit down and have a beer with and just chat for hours on end. Respect to him for pulling through his accident as well
As a Bolton fan I remember this so clearly! Game was broadcasted on espn, never been so upset about a football match. He was such a talent at Bolton such a shame his career was cut short.
Absolutely legend, he is one of those people where you can just tell ‘what a nice person he is even without knowing him personally’. Stay healthy bro 🙏🏽
Just watched this after the Tottenham Newcastle game, its scary that we've had two high profile incidents of cardiac arrest in the sport.
Incredible for Muamba to open up about this
Pretty sure he's been doing it for years now
Been waiting for this one since the first clip
Fabrice Muamba ,Fabrice Muamba Bolton Legend what a player ⚪🔵
My dad was at that game he still remembers it to this day.
Fascinating episode. Great to see Muamba again and to listen to him speak about that tragic night is so eye opening. Top dude
Scary moment always remember hearing it on the radio and it was before social media really started and it was just breaking news on all the news stations! Great that he’s had a great life after this moment!
Truly truly unbelievable! Every time I hear him speak about it, it blows my mind! BLOWS MY MIND! What a player, what a man!
What an inspiration to everyone we Bolton fans love you and we thank you for your time and dedication and effort at Bolton ❤️
I had a similar heart condition as Fabrice, but was fortunate enough to have it operated on before anything bad happened. I was 16 when I had open heart surgery, around a year before Fabrice's accident. Seeing what happened to him, and following his life afterwards has been a constant inspiration to me. Fabrice, I know it's a really shitty thing you went through, but you've always been my hero. Keep up the grind ❤❤❤
So crazy to hear his side of what happened. Words cannot describe it. Shout out to the medical personnel and cardiologist who came to the pitch. So wholesome how they were invited to the wedding as well. God bless you Muamba! 🙏🏾
One of the most best and one of the most seemingly genuine people ever you've had on the pod
It's a miracle that he's here talking to us now. Wow.
I remember every exact detail of that day.
I was 8 years old and my team (West Brom) were away at Wigan in a Premier league game and we drew 1-1, most boring 1-1 draw there's ever been.
On the 2 & half hour journey back to Walsall, we were on the M6 motorway and the weather just turned completely. Thunder and lightning and it was pitch black. Rain coming down quite heavily aswell, I've seen bad weather before but that experience was particularly eerie. We didn't even know anything bad had happened. We got back home at around ten to 8 in the evening.
We turned on sky and they just said "Tottenham vs Bolton abandoned" and we thought it was to do with the bad weather, then they went live to the hospital and we still just thought "ok maybe it was just a bad leg break" but then it obviously clicked that this was much worse than just a bad leg injury.
I remember when he walked out onto the pitch at the Reebok against Tottenham in May and seeing that on tv was genuinely emotional, we played them a few days later at the Reebok and I remember when they went 1 & 2-0 up, all Albion fans were actually cheering their goals because the whole nation just wanted Bolton to stay up after what the club had been through but unfortunately we ruined that, made it 2-2 and sent them down.
I'll never ever forget where I was and every little detail of that day! Impossible to forget
Honestly such an incredible guy and glad he still with us 💪
Muamba: literally dies and luckily survives
Jack: bet got voided , nice one mate 🤣
thats an unfortunate surname😂🙌
@@revileshadxw8813 tell me about it 😂
@@revileshadxw8813 tbf if it was one ‘n’ it would be worse but Bonner ain’t too suggestive to the maturer person😂
Gives me chills whenever I come across the clip of it happening. All the fans cheering him on to pull through.
The full episode is amazing, what a guy 🐐
Huge respect to this man 🙏
Still remember watching this game, thank goodness for the medical teams that got there instantly.
Medical professionals like them are the best of us
Spurs fan, was sat in my living room watching and was such a scary moment and the silence in the stadium added to it. Its so good though to hear these stories because you hope it makes businesses around the world get defibs. Fab is such an inspiration! Hopefully one day you can get Eriksen on as well.
what a lovely guy. seems so friendly and down to earth, glad he's still with us.
Best story you've had on here so far. Massive Respect to Fabrice
Me and my mate went to that game he was a Tottenham fan and we were shit scared. Thankfully Fabrice is alive to tell the story ❤️
Even as someone not mad into football this sticks in my mind, what a legend
I was there with my dad in the Park Lane South Lower, probably thirty yards away from it. It was very surreal being witness to near death in such an environment. I was shaken for a couple of days after. Amazed he pulled through.
I remember being on holiday & seeing the news of what happened with Fabrice. Never seen anything like it before. Then you'd the Erikson situation last year & even before that my Sunday League captain passed away at 26 from the same situation they'd been in. Marathon runner, work for the army, fittest lad you'd meet in your life. Just gone like that. Young people take for granted the time they're given. You're not guaranteed anything. When your time is done, it's done.
That’s just so depressing and terrifying, might as well get it over with quickly then instead of just waiting around to drop dead. Young people could die any moment, what can we even do
This is just brilliant. It puts a lot of things into perspective. Thanks guys for this!
Absolutely love this man.
Impossible to dislike this guy
Big up Fabrice
I remember watching this game on the tv and being too young to really know what was going on, but I still knew something bad was happening. all the best to Fabrice, he’s such a hero
I have always wanted to know his story! Jack seriously dominating the podcast game recently well done mate!
Remember this like yesterday
I remember watching this live on ESPN. I believed it was Tottenham vs Bolton at White Hart Lane. I was so happy hear that he recovered from the incident and is in good health still 🙏
One of those moments I’ll never forget
Fabrice came to my school last week
I missed it
☹️
I still don’t understand how he is still alive. This is incredible
Remember watching the game as a kid & it made me realise that football is more than a game
Was watching the match live on ITV. Such a surreal experience to witness. Was so glad he was ok. Seeing him return to White Hart lane for the replay brought a tear to my eye seeing every fan clapping for him.
I still remember when that day happend ok was only little and was watching the game with my grandad and my dad on TV the day we will never forget so so glad he is still with us 🤍🤍
I was 14 when I watched this live at White Heart Lane, I can tell you now that no one in the stadium that night saw him hit the floor. I’ll never forget the silence that fell around the ground as the realisation of what was happening hit.
The memory of Spurs and Bolton fans joining together to scream his name together as he was carried from the pitch still gives me chills.
Truly a game that I will never forget.
As a Bolton fan I was watching the game in my local pub, maybe 100/150 people in watching it and I remember the pub just fell completely silent you could literally hear a mouse fart, the good thing that came out of this is the increase in cardiac technology/responses at matches, he was a great player for us, always put a shift in and was gutted he couldn’t come back to play
I was there watching it at the stadium that day. My god how scary was that moment , so glad to have heard he was Ok later on.
Once a gunner always a gunner. Big up Fabrice ❤️
I'm glad this awful event meant changing a lot not only for football but all across the country. Because of Fabrice all schools have defibrillators now which has probably saved a lot of young people's lives.
i was 9 years old when this happened and i still remember it happening
Fabrice is such a nice man, story terrorise me, he’s a lucky guy ❤️
I was at this game in the Bolton end you could here spurs doctor screaming to get on the pitch you could hear a pin drop, could see Owen Coyle nearly crying eventually the whole stadium started to sing His name. fab was a great player and could have progressed to a bigger club if he continued to play what a guy
first spurs game i ever went too it was so sad what a lovely guy
This touched me when this happened because my cat died a week later coz he had a heart problem, I think I was 7 or 8 at the time, what an inspiration fabrice is
I remember watching this game on TV, and as a neutral, the result didn’t bother me. But seeing Muamba collapse like that, it brought a tear to my eye, as I thought he was going to pass.
This podcast is the best in the uk fr💖
15 years old Bolton fan I’m still shocked and don’t know who it happened poor man
As a Tottenham fan I can remember watching the game and was so young I barely understood what was going on
BWFC !!!!!! Fabrice is an absolute legend and gentleman !!!!
Humble man fabrice muamba.. 🙌
True what they say I remember clearly watching the game and the moment as a young kid
He went from being a hero surviving a cardiac arrest to exposing Jeremy lynch what an absolute legend
Thank god that he survived ❤
I absolutely love the podcast Jack and don’t want to bite the hand that feeds me free content but the volume on the pod (only on RUclips) is so quiet.
Obviously I know that I can just turn the TV or phone up but in comparison to other videos it’s almost inaudible.
Might just be compressed too much or lacking gain.
Jack is made for this, this was my fave episode so far and I think I have said that a fair few times.
I was living in My local village at the time dropping merchandise off. As soon as my pal answered the door ya heard about fabrice muamba to the day
mad that i’ve been watching jack since 2009 and now he’s here, still miss the old vlogs, would love to know what happened to that old mates you used t hang out with,
Who
I remember it. It was unsettling.
What happend to him is so scary. Same as what happened to Ericsson for Denmark at the Euros.
Fabrice seems like such a great guy
Damn right about remembering where they were when it happened. I was 11, at home and not watching the game because it was on ESPN, which I didn’t have. Then on Sky sports news it says that the game has been suspended because of a serious injury, initially I assumed a broken leg, until I found out how horrific the incident actually was, so glad he’s alive and well now.
Fabz is a g
I had a cardiac arrest 7 months ago, was dead for 20 minutes and was saved by the amazing Ambulance paramedics and air ambulance crew.
Then spent 10 days in a coma and 5 weeks in hospital.. Unlike Fabrice, I lost my memory from the entire 3 years leading upto the event including the day of.
When I came round, watching videos of Fabrice talking about it made it much easier for me to comprehend and deal with.
And to clarify, cardiac arrest is nothing like a heart attack. They ar every different, a cardiac arrest is literally instant death and has a 7% survival rate, a heart attack has an 85% survival rate.
A cardiac arrest is most often caused by the electrical signals in your heart failing whereas a heart attack is caused by a blockage in an artery that leads to the heart.
He said he was the most unluckiest guy for it to happen to when he is the most luckiest man that’s ever happened to he survived.
Why is this the first video I see while watching the Newcastle match
I was at the game. When/after it happened was so surreal. When the game got called off at HT everyone left and was just sort of somber.
That must have felt very strange to experience in person. I remember on the TV seeing the whole crowd chant his name after he collapsed. Supported by both sides. Emotional stuff.
No say this was TEN YEARS AGO!!!??? I thought it was like half that. F**k me time flies!!
Anyone else watch the incident again after watching this?
