I grew up with 70's heavy rock and 80's hard rock. Nowdays rock is not mainstream anymore but music for old geezers. Veteran rock bands rarely put out anyting interesting. Found the Maids a year ago and completely agree with you Dec. They are a perfect band. I get so much energy and joy from their music. It feels almost like being alive again. Which is nice..

Great stuff Dec. Band Maid is a rock gem, and needs more exposure to Western audiences. So glad to see the effort you put into this excellent vid. (The snafu with Akane/Mincho's image was pretty funny.)

I have to have a Band-Maid fix everyday! Every member is gifted, amazing and relentless! My favorite band at the moment, and I have been listening to rock music since the early 60's! No one compares to these amazing ladies!

I could be wrong here, but I'm sure with the 1st 2 albums it was more a case of the record company saying, here's a song now play it.
The Slipknott cover they did was part of the YT live they did, when they should have been playing Knottfest, so they did there set live on an iPhone, as they didn't want to let the fans down that were going to see them there.

I like and listen to many very good bands from Japan. Across a few different genres. And l have seen both Babymetal and Band-Maid in concert just two weeks apart last year. Babymetal was fine. Great show that l would pay to see again. Band-Maid was and is an entirely different animal. I walked out of the Echoplex after the show talking out loud to myself. It was a quasi religious experience. So, for me and many of us, Band-Maid is in a league all their own. Regards.

Yes I thank the gods of old for whatever magic brought them into my life a few months ago. I love music, MUSIC, played by musicians. Band-Maid have somehow taken over my brain, and my wallet. Everything they have done is good and unique and it is making me happy every day. Also, new single out on December 2nd called "Different"" and new album out January 2021 wtf?!?!?!

yeah don't let me down lyrics are a tad weird. still i like the song though as a song. but in all fairness the entire first cd 'maid in japan' was written by akutsu kentaro and i just love the cd although it's definitely poppier than the later stuff. the song 'key' is a killer tune that has that distinct band maid sound. akutsu still contributes now and then to newer songs and is a great songwriter . glad he didn't write don't let me down.

MISA is mysterious indeed. I once read that MISA is not even her real name. Many performers all around the world use stage names. Miku Kobato is actually Mika Noguchi.
Yeh Japanese idols usually change their name. It actually stems from the adult video industry believe it or not. It works to make people more "kawaii" especially if their kanji looks too 'aggressive' or what not.
I did discover MISA's real name once, and it turns out that it matches the name of a Japanese idol singer, so if you google it, that's who you'll find instead. I don't know if that's why she changed it, or if there were other reasons. Akane and Kanami use their real first names with different last names (I think Kanami may use different kanji to turn her name into "song wave"). Saiki actually uses her true first and last names.
@@SLKRR Somebody said (no idea if it's true) that Misa's family is a big deal (meaning "old money" I guess) in Japan and it would be considered inappropriate if the family name was associated with the entertainment industry.

I HAVE to get to Japan to see them. It drives me nuts seeing a band in the US. Everyone has their phones up recording. What the hell point is there to that? People missing the full impact of the show to record Bad sound and shakey unclear video?! WTF?
