Celine's description of America in Journey- essentially that love is the only authentic thing a person could have in such a place, to weather that automated storm. What a guy.

Celine saw the dark side of Judaism-the unabridged greed at any cost.
Now the whole world is seeing it for themselves.

What a great discussion of a great writer. And thoughtful discussion of his irredeemable antisemitism without handwringing. Looking forward to reading his new work.

He knew their role in financing the Great War, of which he was a veteran.

A greater focus on his artistic contributions would be preferable.

    “Virulent” antisemitism!
Two words that never seem to be far away from each other. I think if any other notion were described as virulent, then antisemitism would be rather jealous!

The constant caveating to reassure the audience that Céline was wrong and that you’re on the right side of history gets really tiresome

      Victors write History. Tiresome indeed

When you've been kicked out of over 100 countries and the ethnostate founded in your name is currently carrying out geno cide, yeah, perhaps it's not always the gentiles' fault...

There's a collective pathological narcissism of the tribe. Thinking that everyone else is always at fault and that you've never done anything wrong is mental illness.

Anti-Semitism is disgusting -- true. And also boring. Now what about the great novels, the reason we are actually interested in Celine.

You can make many legitimate points about these people, now and throughout history for bad behaviour and it’s hailed as anti Semitic. Throwing Holocaust around to excuse morally repugnant behaviour and sneaky behaviour is quite frankly more disgusting. I we suppose to see them as superior. Because they awfully act as if we should. Just remember who made then culturally viable. Gods chosen people and all!!
