Does jewelry mean anything? Should we spend money on it?

My take in Jewelry is explained in this video. At one time I believed it to be useless and just for ornamental purposes. Upon deeper study, insight into metallurgy, forging, melting, and all other aspects of the creating process…..I have come to have a profound (to me at least) appreciation for biblical references of gold, silver, and refining.
