For me it was on the job training. I did have a background in machining and metal work.
My bf does it for fun, anyone can do it!
What happened to the guy’s hands if he was wearing the ring and it got so much slag on it? Does he have prosthetic hands now?

If you are pouring into a cylinder then use a funnel, or something to keep it from spilling off to the side, and if you are pouring on their side, just anchor all sides to keep them from moving around
Sound advice!
put them in a bowl into a kiln. the bowl sides taller then the noodles. the kiln should keep the metal liquid which would hopefully mean is can drip into the crevasse of the noodle. if not then less noodles meaning not as cool design
I don’t have a kiln…..so I will have to find another approach.

If you want to anneal (soften) it, why are you quenching it (making it brittle)?
It doesn’t not make it brittle. The way to anneal non-ferrous metals. (Silver, gold, copper, etc …… is heat and hold that dull red temp for a min, then quench or air cool. It’s the opposite as annealing anything with iron in it.
Quenching hardened it. Annealing is slow cooling.

Beautiful. My brother used to be a Goldsmith, made some beautiful jewellery and then enlisted in the army ! Once he’d done his 22yrs he tried to take goldsmithing back up as a hobby unfortunately his fingers and sense of touch is damaged after too many years weapon training etc. It’s his biggest regret that he didn’t keep it up, now it’s too late. It’s a joy to watch a jeweller at work , although he can get quite vocal about techniques used. There’s always another way😂

I love aquamarines, but they are too soft for everyday wear in a ring. A light blue sapphire is a much better choice.
The customer requested the gem. It really depends on the person wearing the ring.
