That is amazing, what did you use to bend it? Mandrel? Etc?
Round nose pliers if I remember correctly.
As a designer I agree
Indeed! Perspective is everything.
You are right but it’s not all meaningless. I have jewelry that was my great grandmothers and her mother before her. She used to let me hold it as a child. When I wear a piece it makes me feel connected to her in a very personal way. She passed about 30 years ago. If those pieces were gone tomorrow I’d still remember her but the memories I shared with her with those pieces are special almost imbued with that connection. It’s not the jewelry itself but what it symbolizes. Interesting topic.
You nailed it! That’s what I’ve realized after almost 20 years as a jeweler. The memories associated with the pieces of jewelry are what gives them the sentimental value….. and in many ways, that is far more valuable than the metals and gemstones used in the piece.
I stumbled across this video today and I am so glad that I did. I am also a jewelry maker who's struggled with these same issues. Thank you for "ranting + babbling" about your thoughts and processes, and for saying that jewelry making matters. For me, it is one of my God-given talents...and I feel deeply connected to Him whenever I create. So, thanks again. This was a great video.
Thank you for the amazing comment! I never know if people even watch the videos or get anything out of it. Where are you located? Do you have a store? Sell online? Wholesale? I love making connections with others in the industry. Especially God fearing men and women!
Jesus loves you bro🙌🏻❤️
You got that right! And you too!
Seems like it was made to be a more traditional tapered shape and filled in to be a tube ring afterwards
I’m not certain of what it looked like originally, but I’m pleased with how it turned out after fusing.
Preach it brother.
Thanks brother. “Chasing after the wind”, it’s a fools errand.
What are you like 4 an found your daddys tools.......show some kool shit that makes an individual wanna be interactive an intrigued in your lil projects
Rofl never mind your a damn jeweler😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Indeed
I never watch this type of video, so why it was in my algorithm, i don't know but im glad it was. You have multiple gifts and talents my brother and repairing a ring was my 2nd favorite part of this video.

Cool idea! Very dynamic!
@@boomjewelrydesigns thanks brother! Just cranking out the projects and trying to document the journey.
I love your videos. I'm 65, live in Maine and I am starting to make the same sort of jewelry. I love learning new techniques and seeing how others do things. It will never be a business but it is a great hobby. Blessings brother I also am a Christian and in the process of planting a church with another brother.
Wow! Planting a church is incredible. Thank you for watching and I really appreciate the positive comment. Maine looks so beautiful, I’d love to visit someday. Many blessings on the church plant.
Beautiful work man. Keep it going

That is so awesome I would have done it the hard way
I’ve done it “the hard way” plenty of times before 😂
Thanks for the video just subscribed to you and looking forward to see your journey
Thanks man! Much appreciated.
Happened to me a few times. I really work hard to avoid that. I also dont use bandaids... for a variety of reasons as well. Different foil hat video! Stay sharp!
Precisely, I’m always sporting my “foil” hat.
Hey!!! I look forward to watching more!

Anneal the metal first then stamp it on a piece of wood.
That’s one way to do it. The material was Annealed first. The wood may cause the piece to become deformed. It would also create a tough stamping surface being so soft.
I managed to repair a much finer chain with a regular soldering gun. The links could just barely be held with the corner of tweezers.
@@Convolutedtubules well done!
@@adamthefirstman1127 I'm really happy with the result, because it was my first time. I used regular lead solder, just because it's what I had.
@ if it’s a repair for yourself, then whatever works. If it is for a customer, definitely match the material with the solder. When learning and practicing, use whatever is at hand. Keep at it and you will get more and more proficient.
Enjoyed watching!
It’s cool your religious n all , my issue is the earth is 14.5billion years old humans were genetically modified 200k years ago and your religion is only 2000 years old. Nice ring good work
That’s an extremely big topic to tackle in a RUclips video comment. But thanks for watching!
Nice Video, New subscriber :)
@@x8_sohail hey thanks!

Watched til the end! Really interesting story. I just started working in a jewellers and I'm really enjoying it. They don't do repairs in house though and I'd like to learn how to do this as I know it's a valuable skill. Do you have any recommendations?
Watch RUclips videos, ask a store that does repair is you can apprentice, read books. All of my skills have been acquired “on the job”.
Not a ring. That is a pos

Wow final product looks beauty
@@MuhammadNiz007 Hey, thanks! I really appreciate it.

Yeah, I’m not sure what to think 🤔
Yikes, that’s gonna take a while to heal in that spot
It’s actually healing very well.
did that with a circular saw. Got all four of my fingers. Fortunately it was just a slight brush of the blade and it did not cut all of my fingers off. But yes. lots of blood. Just like this.
Dang! That sounds very painful. I’m glad you still have all Of your fingers!
How’s that thumb ? You were leakin like a stuck hog . Lol
It’s healing quickly and nicely!

I watched a vid yesterday where someone got their entire eyeball surgically removed and I didn't have to click any warnings, I would say this video is pretty tame for the educational side of yt
