Come to think of it, the only games I can recall that do this are FC2, Stalker 2, Tarkov, and Metro Exodus. Fallout 3 and NV kinda count with the malfunctions, but it's only after reloads. Highly underrated feature because it's a good realistic way to increase the challenge and keep you on your toes
Now. We have all guns in far cry 2 that they have jamming animations. Bo4 also did it in just one gun only. The gun named cordite. It would only work if we used a unlimited mag attachment. So. In this game. Stalker 2 finally brought it back. Factually.
Durability is overtuned! After 60+ hours ive had it and installed a durability mod. It was after the illusion section! It happened in my head yet i used all my bullets and my guns were in shamble
I have a series x, so I thought I could maybe hop on this game's bandwagon. I was wrong. The game is borderline unplayable. Stealth is NOT and option as enemies see/hear you from many meters away and through objects, as well as your player character dying withing 3-6 bullets. I'm not sure if the faster time to kill is normal for the series, which I would be ok with, if I could have a second to breath by sneaking past enemies
It's basically the vibe of the Stalker games that they tend to have an inverse difficulty curve: Incredibly punishing at the start and gets way easier as you go because of the access to much better gear. You still die very, very quickly, but have ways to mitigate it better and much better weapons and equipment. However yes, stealth feels functionally useless at the moment because enemies spot you instantly while they're basically just pixels on your screen, and have incredible accuracy and also the world's best grenade tossing skills. I'm hoping they tweak this in a major patch.
@ And I'm on PC, so it's not just something from the console version in case you were wondering. It's just like that. Your best bet is using suppressed weapons on single targets, and then if you get the drop on a group just lay into them immediately. Use grenades often, they're as common as bandages, practically every enemy will have one on them.
I love how the animations feel very natural and organic.
Developers had some dignity to do that.
I haven't seen jamming animations for a long time since FC2 and EFT.
And that one gun with special mag attachment in bo4
That's because most newer games don't bother to add in a weapon condition system. The last time I remember seeing one was in Fallout: NV.

fc2 jamming animations were so good. that FAL reload tho
@@NamelocTheBard "increase the challenge"
There's your reasons why. Challenge is translated to "bad game design" by most modern gamers.
What a great animation...
You mean "what great animations"
@TheShapeSlayer-u4jNo need to correct someone’s grammar.
Fr. Animations looks gallantly realistic nowadays. After the new innovation in 2024 & during 2025 evolvements

Fallout 3 too
Hod do you unjam a revolver in real life ? I never see a case of a revolver jamming.
I guess it not actual jamming, the dirt and stuff maybe causing the cylinder not being able to rotate so you have to manually push it
Better known as what you'll be dealing with every five seconds because all the firearms in the game are seemingly made out of toy plastic and paper.
Except when held in the hands of a bandit loaded with nothing but 3 spare bullets and an old sausage. Then it'll work flawlessly forever.

Love these jamming animations beside to DayZ
Should players of metro come over to this game?
Me after my weapon jamming in mid battle and i have to pull 1080p 120FPS animation

@trouty606 gotcha. I thought that was the case. I really hope they do tweak stealth bc this is unreasonable

The animations are good, but lack urgency.
