Just fyi, the dawi-drop chaos warrior breakpoint can be hit much easier than made out to be. All that is needed is +30% chaos/armored and Smiter, and as mentioned, you don’t need skull splitter.
This is a breakpoint for a One shot BODY-shot as well, unlike the headshot mentioned in the vid.
How does one get 30% vs chaos? 10% charm/10% in pickaxe and...? trinket or passive stacks maybe? I dont know

The build I currently run for my slayer, by no means is meta or viable, but I take all the movement speed buffs, including one on my trinket, a bunch of attack speed buffs with the dual axes and the throwing axe. The adrenaline of playing as a dwarf that can simply walk faster than your enemies swings, and circling a hoard as you turn into a hurricane blender dwarf hybrid is insane.
and using leap with a speed potion is the highlight of the build. I recommend all slayer players to try it once.

One of the best Vermintide 2 guides I've seen yet, well flushed out covering many options and possible player experience levels. wonderfully done.
Thanks! I've gotten much better at both talking to my microphone and editing since I made this guide, so the next installment in the series should be even better once I actually start working on it. There's a couple of videos I'm gonna have to make before that happens, but the Engineer guide is still something that I want to work on.
I find the great axe heavy attacks work really well on hoards - decent cleave, stagger, and linesman modifiers. I run my slayer with two great axes - one with power Vs chaos and one Vs skaven.
Love your use of DRG music in this guide too
I didn't even consider using the same weapon but with different modifiers.

About the guide itself, you didn't disappoint! You have opened my eyes on some Slayer build that I didn't really think about, I really should stop metaslaving, seeing as I only play on Legend anyway.

Finally, I want to see your take on the Ironbreaker. I don't seem to have much trouble playing OE, so it only leaves Ironbreaker.

Lovely video right here. Slayer’s the career I have the most hours on and it’s great to see a guide like this one. I didn’t really learn anything new, but I appreciate the builds you suggested. I think dawi drop is very underrated and a high skill option as being able to frequently one shot elites adds up a lot over the course of a match, and of course nuking monsters/patrols (with concoction+bomb) is very fun. Less safe though. Great video, keep it up!

I wouldn't hold your hopes up when it comes to me finishing this series, as unfortunately I've completely burned out on the tide series and youtube after my time with Darktide. I did try to make an Engineer guide multiple times and scrapped the project every time due to how much I hated working on that video.
I'm currently in the middle of a long break from playing those games and making content in general. I've talked about it more in one of my community posts on the channel, so if you want to know the details then most of it is there. Anyways, hope you have a great day!

I must say, I've been enjoying Slayer more than when I was grinding out the every map with every career on Legend portrait. Probably because the lack of range. Little did I know, I AM the bomb/danger that Leaps.

Imo, always take High Tally when using the great hammer.
Trophy Hunter stacks get applied on hit, not on attack, resulting in 4 stacks after one swing of the hammer into a horde.

I lot of very good advice for a very average drengi like myself, thanks! I really like using the 1H axe on all the dwarf classes, but I had a friend argue that the slayer could use it as a horde clear and the double axes as monster mashers, which was interesting to watch, but I'm not sold. What are your thoughts on the matter, fellow dawi enthusiasts?
The 1h axe kills most horde units in one strike with all Trophy Hunter stacks, and combined with lots and lots of attack speed it can wipe a horde fairly quickly. Thing is, with no crowd control or cleave this weapon will struggle a lot against high density hordes ESPECIALLY in closed spaces. This is the main reason why I can't recommend using it as your main anti horde weapon.
Also, the THP regen from hordes sucks with this weapon no matter which level 5 talent you pick.
As for the dual axes, they're the best anti monster weapon that you can pair with A Thousand Cuts. You can't make a monster shredding build for them like you can with the great axe because you can't pair them with Skull-Splitter. They're still probably the best anti monster one handed weapon competing a bit with the 1h axe.
1H axe can work but with high density it struggles. 1H hammer or dual hammers are better for purely dealing with dense hordes and gaining temp, but AFAIK worse at killing stuff.
Throwing axe with the +25% damage if you crit with the 5% crit is nice right? also some bosses really are needing an axe thrown at the face. also the Thor Hammer call back is really cool! =D

Great guide. They must have changed the throwing axe since I last played. It didn’t count as a single handed weapon before. The throwing axe is still a bit of a sore spot for me. Kerillians javelins we’re awesome to melee with.
They have indeed changed that in the recent QoL update, very soon after sister got nerfed
Tbh dwarfs rang-less is not as bad your gonna have 2 weapons so a very survivable horde clear and elite/monster and have great freedom from them so you have better then most horde control and you can with that make sure you deal with any special specialty with the ult with stagger qucik play wise i can’t rember the last time i was the weak link on specials and can many a times where i was the main special killer

I only ever used war pick with veteran since I realised I could one hit melee kill all elites except chaos warriors, and destroy any patrol with the smoke screen, if teammates don't drag them too far from the smoke

1h axe vs dual axes for monsters ? who is better ? idk to play with dual hammers and dual axes for monsters and specials , or play dual hammers with 1h axes for monsters and specials ..
Isnt the great Hammer better against Armor but the great Axe better against everything without

As for some context, the song that I originally used for that part of the video (which worked WAY better btw) unfortunately caused some copyright issues with my video and I had to replace it with one of the music tracks suggested to me by youtube in their editor weeks after the guide has been published. By then I was on a burnout break from both playing Vermintide and making videos which made me completely neglect updating the description, which I then forgot about. Sorry for the confusion.
I struggle with weapons which make you use heavy attacks against hordes. I don't know how to mitigate being open to wounds while charging up the attack. I was wondering how you use such weapons effectively
It's mostly a matter of positioning, paying attention to if you're about to get hit or not, and if you are, reacting accordingly with a push / push attack. You need to make sure that you don't get surrounded and that nothing will hit you in the back after you start swinging. It's really easy to fall out of the heavy attack rythm when a single rat can just run up to you and ruin your day, but if you manage to keep it going you'll melt hordes in seconds.
Be prepared to dodge or to stop your combo in order to block if you see that you're about to get stabbed, and don't let your enemies flank you. There's only so much advice I can give you on this, you'll mostly learn how to use such weapons through experience, so keep using them until it clicks.
1h axe also has tons of extra crit on it's attacks and with the already fast attack speed on it I think it would be acceptable to take it if you want a 1h and a 2h combo with the 5% crit talent, pairing it with the cog hammer or something for hords, using the 1h axe to deal with anything ells using it's speed and spamming lights. I know crit is not exactly well liked but it does provide simplicity. The 5 % talent and the Axe alone grants a 20% crit chance and with it's already fast attack speed you just add in the "Crits grant akt speed" trait and you are good to go. Maybe you dare to grab some crit power and dive into the whole math of "why it's shit"... bit of brain gymnastics is always fun :D
I really prefere the 5% crit for dual axes. with swift slaying on them.

what build is best for chaos wastes?
I've been using the Troll Slayer build the most in Chaos Wastes back when I was working on this video, but I think that the Beast Slayer build could work reasonably well too depending on if you wanna focus more on clearing hordes or killing elites.
Frankly I don't usually bring Slayer into Chaos Wastes as I feel like other Bardin careers have much more flexibility in that gamemode. Slayer excells in Campaign and it's custom difficulties like Twitch Mode and Onslaught, but I tend to struggle with him in Wastes because of the low power level and the lack of perks that you have to deal with when you embark on a pilgrimage (and also the lack of a ranged weapon which makes you rely on your teammates a lot, which can be a lot to ask for in pubs).

Sad to say this but only thing what really should be mentioned in this Guide: Is do not play Slayer AT ALL rather play Warrior Priest or Grail Knight. Grail Knight can outdamage Slayer and adds a nice Support for the Team with Quests or Pots while Warrior Priest is tankier and can support the team with Shields or resurrection. Slayer on the other Hand adds nothing to the Team he can kill things ... thats it. The thing is: everything Slayer can do Warrior Priest or Grail Knight can do better plus adding value to the Team. Vermintide 2 is a Team Game.
Fatshark definitly need to rework Slayer but right now .... sorry there is no point in playing Slayer
