- After hearing that his missing wife Claire has returned, Frank rushes back to Scotland to see her. Claire seems unable to fully let go of her love for Jamie though.

I can feel both sides. Frank suddenly lost his wife, had no idea what happened to her and then she appears again but she's not the woman he knew anymore.
Claire was forced to leave the love of her life knowing that he'll die while she's pregnant with his child. This is pure pain.
They are both heartbroken. And if you don't want to be together there is no coming back from that place.
Spending 3 years in the quietness of the 18th century Scottish Highlands and coming back here must be so tough for Claire. I feel that "so much noise here"

It's fault of Jack Black Randall, who indirectly broke up Claire and Franck Randall's first love marriage. However, there will be Claire and Jamie's daughter who will bring some comfort to this struggling couple.

I always feel for Frank. He was a kind man who was unfortunately the descendant of Jack Randall. It must have been a gut punch to have your wife recoil from you and have no idea of what happened to her.
I feel sorry for Claire too. How could you pick up from where you left, especially being pregnant with another man in those days.
With all the extra noise in the 20th century, compared to what she had in the 18th. More modern doesn't necessarily mean better.
Except he's not. A descendant that is, not directly.
Frank was a descendant of Jack Randall’s nephew. He was gay he married Mary at his dying brothers death bed so that Mary and her child could have a better life than being an unmarried woman with child.

Dur pour Franck après ces années d'absence Claire qu'il n'esperait plus est la mais complètement changé dur de savoir ce qu'il y a bien pu lui arriver...
En effet, une partie des événements vient qu'un de ses ignobles ancêtres (pas directement) a causé. Néanmoins, Jamie en veut en partie à Frank, mais le remercie également pour avoir sauver la vie de son enfant à naître et aussi de s'occuper de son éducation pour le 18ème siècle, afin que cette dernière puisse survivre aux épreuves de la vie.
I feel so sorry for Frank, he is way too good for Claire😢
