Hi,
Domain to client and client to domain ping successfully but still showing same error pls help.
Thank you KJohnson. You're de BEST!! It has taken me almost 1.4 hours to find out why I couldn't connect to my local domain server. I had to use the local domain's IP address as a "PREFERRED DNS SERVER" and the Alternate DNS Server IP as the router's IP. Thank you so very much, sir!
Thank you very much for watching my video and the comment. I appreciate it.

@@Kelvglobal same issue as before domain cannot be contacted -_-
thank you for the video but is there any configuration that can be done at a router level to redirect any query to the DC to avoid having fixed settings on Wifi Ethernet of client machines ? I faced the same issue and I use your recommendation to fix it unfortunately if I change back on the client the ethernet config to automatic settings (IP assigned by DHCP), I will not have access to the local drives on my LAN.
This tutorial just resolved the issue I've been having. Thanks and more blessings.
Kelvin thanks a lot, I was suffering to connect my clients. But I have one problem, on my Cisco router I’ve configured DNS as 8.8.8.8 , so do I’ve to go back to that router to change the DNS to my server IP? Because I will not be going from one computer to another to add that ip address . Hope you understand my point please.

Thank you!!!!! Im sitting alone in a computer lab and got this problem and it worked by setting the preffered DNS to the domain contollers ip. First it did not work and i got frustrated but then remembered this is windows and restarted the server and it worked.

I am studying computer science at college and my assignment was to mass add users. We've tried ADDS 2 or 3 times at this point, never had a problem with it till now. I checked if my IP range and DNS were right, if IP itself was right, domain names, if machines could ping each other etc. Everything seems right, yet nothing worked. Couple of restarts and sanity checks later it works. I have legitimately no idea, what was wrong. Thanks for different point of view though!

Hi Kev, great tutorial! It's helped me get a step closer to getting this configuration working, however, I've still been running into a wall for the past 6 hours!
Once I add the Windows VM to the domain (as a member) and receive a confirmation when trying to Manage the newly added computer (via Active Directory Users and Computers). I keep getting "Computer cannot be connected. Verify that the network path is correct, the computer is available on the network.... To enable the appropriate rules Windows Firewall rules on the remote computer, open the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security snap-in and enable the following inbound rules: COM+ Network Access (DCOM-In)". I've tried everything but still now luck!

What if the PINGING to the Domain controller "couldn't find the host"?
Hi, if the pinging could not find the host, these could be cause be two different things.
1. probably your company have configured a firewall policy to prevent pinging
2. Check the configuration of your windows operating system if it is properly configured.
This is very helpful,
thanks man.

hey kelvin
can u help me?
I'm not able to ping from server to client
i couldn't get my primary DNS suffix name as u got in the video
and
when i assign static ip I couldnt get domain name
Hello Kalyan,
Is this a test environment?
I think the problem is with your dns configuration.
First, you want to take the ip address of your primary domain controller and assign it
as a static IP address to your secondary device or workstation. That is if you are doing
this statically and it will work.
thanks a lot man... u helped me alot... god bless u man

Hello, can you configure a separate PC (real computer) as a client to a domain controller (which is a VM)?
Yes you can, you just need to make sure the network adapter is. “Bridged” in tge vm settings for the vm server.
@@michaeljimenez239 Thanks. Btw do you know if this is a service that will be used in the workforce or is it outdated?
@@zfrocc6327 i eprsonally would say it is good to understand the concept and how to apply it. you may not need to do it in the field but if you ever need to it is best to know it than not.
Hi, what if the gateway IP is unreachable but can be pinged from a different server which is using the same gateway IP?
Also, net adapter has unidentified network status, tried reenabling and diagnose but same issue
Are the IP addresses configured to be obtained automatically from a DHCP server? You should asked your network admin to check where the error is coming from
It work for me thank you man

Great but in an enterprise environment will you go to every office and change the dns to the controller’s IP? It’s Herculean
Hi Joe, This was a test environment that is why I changed it manually. But if this should be an Enterprise environment, your DHCP Server will be doing this for you.

Hi I did exactly as shown in your tutorial, however I am still getting the same error. I can ping my DC from my workstation no problem but can't ping my workstation from my DC. I disabled the firewall for the private network on the client and I can successfully ping the client from the DC. However I still can't join the domain. Why would this be? Any help would be much appreciated
Turn off the IPv6 address on the network adapter that you are using
@@TechQuent thanks for the suggestion
@@TechQuent I did as you suggested and turned off IPv6, I'm still unable to ping the VM from the host. I am using NAT Network. Ping works in both direction if I switch to bridged adapter because the devices are in the same subnet I guess. But when I go back to NAT I can only ping the host from the VM. I noticed a bunch of different subnets listen on the VM, when I do ipconfig /all. I still don't get why it only ping one way. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

what if the domain controller is not able to ping the client to be added even though they are in same network.
Sometimes, pinging may blocked by your security team. But you can still add the device to the domain.

the server machine can not ping to the client machine (both are vmware machine) and they are connected to same network (bridged.)....what is the problem of that?????
