For people interested. The 9x8 was designed around a square tyre setup 31F 31R, the rest are 29F 34R. So the new joker car with the rear wing is pretty much desinged around a 29F 34R car like the rest of the manufacturers. The weight distribution is much more neutral with the square set up, so its not as simple as just chucking a wing on it. The weight distribution needs to be transferred more to the rear, for the new off set tyre set up. We should see the new joker 9x8 at Imola for Rnd 2.

You are right. Actually in LMH regs. But, there is an issue; noise regulation of 100db, but I don't know if it for LMH or GT3, but I see it on reg which will be enforce in next season.
Is the WEC rule still that teams can apply changes to their Aeros only between seasons and not mid-season? Because otherwise Peugeot might need another year or two of testing with the wing.
I believe it’s between seasons they can change things, although sometimes cars get those upgrades late. Like the Peugeot 9x8 updates won’t come till Imola.
Great update. I'm a little sad to see the Peugeot adding a wing but it makes sense. That design was radical and was interesting to watch! I hope BMW does well in WEC but their IMSA performances can't meet their expectations.
As of right now there hasn’t been a lot of of talk about a Hyundai Hypercar. That last section was just my opinion on who I could see join soon. Alfa Romeo and McLaren are at the top of my list. I could see Hyundai in the future though, it would be great to see them or one of their brands enter!
They're "evaluating if it makes since". C'mon they finished 3rd at Daytona with all of that weight. They still have one of the fastest Lmdh car without BOP.
I believe they can, it’s just a matter of if Honda / Acura wants to do that, and has the resources. Currently the team most likely to do WEC would be WTR Andretti, but I don’t think they are ready for that just yet. 😉 For 2024 at least, I think they are focusing on their two Acura ARX-06 in IMSA. It will be interesting to see what HRC decides with the WEC considering Honda’s involvement in F1.

@Formula Jonah could you speculate how much would Alfa Romeo's WEC project cost IF they share the platform and tech with Peugeot ( just the exterior is entirely Alfa and Italian ). My German buddy claims it would be around 80 million euros then compared to 250 million building car solo plus 3 years running the team and car. 80 million budget would mean massive savings for Alfa Romeo.
There is technically no Hypercar in IMSA. Hypercar is part of WEC regulation, replacing the previous LMP1 class. GTP is the top class for IMSA, which replaced previous DPI class. Hypercar/GTP classes share similar design and performance, so it is a convergence, the main difference seems to be how the BOP or balance of performance are regulated by FIA or IMSA. Hypercar teams should be able to race in IMSA just fine with just some small change to meet IMSA regulation and to be classified as GTP. At the end of the day, I think it's simply down what market each individual manufacturer want to present the brand to. They race in IMSA if they want to market to US audiences, and in WEC for the international audiences. Le Mans 24 Hours is a property of the French ACO. Le Mans is a race in itself, but it also take part in the WEC series which is owned and regulated by the FIA. Where as Daytona 24 is part of the IMSA series. The Daytona speedway is owned by International Speedway Corporation (the Nascar' France family), so I think that includes the endurance track as well. Both the IMSA series and Daytona are basically owned by the France's family or their associated organizations, so obviously they want to keep Daytona 24 within their own series. Also Daytona probably won't be allowed to be in WEC anyway due to a big conflict. Le mans 24 is the top race for edurance racing, they would not want to have another big 24 hours race competing it in the same series, it would challenge the prestige of Le Mans.

I have one Question about one manufacturer that you brought up in recent videos that really make people get goose bumps Aston Martin with the prototype car that will race in America for IMSA is there a possibility FJ that car can run the World Endurance championship by any means.
Aston Martin will run the Valkryie in both WEC & IMSA with 1 car each, its confirmed from the first reveal... Also their engine will use the V12 that alrdy in their road car....

GTD is GT3 or is it vice versa and of course there is GTD Pro, but the cars are the same. Then there is hypercar, LMD, LMDH, Europe is different than America, I can't even keep it straight enough to complain about it. WEC cars are different than the similar classes than in America depending on hybrid, what nonsense and over complication. I love sports car racing, but at least F1 is relatively simple. I almost forgot GTP and LMP2 and 3. This mess can't be made understandable in a 20 minute video. I was watching the Daytona 24 with a friend and gave up trying to explain that. I was explaining that GTD manufacturers tried to build the fastest cars to the specs but I then included BOP and he said, "Forget it, it is bullshit." I has to agree. Then, to make things even worse the initials change every year or two.

Hopefully Ferrari wins this year with the 499P the Championchip
