Stunning, More strength to the enthusiasts who continue to “huff ‘n puff” through our magnificent countryside ( not seen on any motorway) Doreen

I was at Maclear in 1982 in the last month of steam operation. Your shots are wonderful. The small train, in the distance, dwarfed by the vast landscapes of the Eastern Cape.

These scenes with the two class 7s and the 14CRB+GEA on Montagu are great.
I have seen the class 7s in action in person during my 1994 visit of SA, no. 4023 was still at Vryheid, albeit not in service anymore, I was enabled to see the loco in the depot.

I was hoping Elliot would be fully shown in video😢my grandfather was working the railstation in mid 70s before his retirement soon after. I have little memory of their house close or in the turn triangle. Hope any1 can help me with photos or video of the station from that time as i would like to make a model layout based on it.

We travelled at leasure and peacefully. All this modern stuff, and speed has killed train travel.
