The dishwasher filter is something many renters do not realize it can come out which is why it usually looks like that after each residents. However the property should have cleaned both the washer and dishwasher prior to you moving in.

Love when we get to see Benny 🥰 Also I will say this from professional experience. I worked for a major maid cleaning service. We would do a lot of move out/in cleanings for apartment complexes. We would hardly ever do a deep clean for things like the washer/dishwasher/garbage disposal. Most apartments complex’s would say just clean the floors and wipe down surfaces. If the bathtubs/showers were moldy then we would scrub it but most of the time they too would get a basic wipe down. So from a professional, ALWAYS deep clean your plan before actually moving in.

I love Benny so much, he’s just so stinking cute ❤Also for your garbage disposal, they make a product you can use to clean them out. It’ll go down into the disposal and push out this blue foam stuff, but it should be safe to use. Another good trick is to put lemon peel/orange peels in there and run it and it’ll help with any lingering smells. Obviously still use the cleaner to get a deep clean but the citrus is a good trick if you ever have something smelly coming from there
Yes, I've done the lemon peel trick before and I love that! I'll look into that foaming cleaner, but I've also seen people do vinegar with baking soda. I usually do that to clear the drain in my shower. Have you tried that or do you think the cleaner is better?

Omg Benny so cute when he popped into the picture when you called him 🥰 just a suggestion for you, if you ordered another one of the same dresser you just got and put them side by side it would fill up the wall space and you will have extra drawer space for when your boyfriend comes for his stuff. Loving the moving vlogs! & I think you should let the rental company know what you've cleaned because honestly, it sounds like whoever did the cleaning, did not do a thorough job.
Sam!!! Move the bed to the left on the wall its on. Like center the bed. & then put your big dresser infront the window. & then a chest dresser on the wall across from the bed that doesnt fit your current dresser!! My room is same layout & thats how I have mine so you dont have to get rid of your big dresser
But then the bed would be really close to the entrance of the room and block off the main door. I tried every arrangement, but the dresser doesn't work :/ It's fine though. I've had it for a long time, and I can either sell it or keep it in the guest bedroom. I really like the small one I got :)

I just saw your other comment from last vid. lol idk I feel like guests can have that private bathroom but you’d have so much more room for dressers and nightstands, rug, bennys crate- I instantly thought master when you showed the guest bedroom lol
Lol girl, no. For so many reasons, mostly for the lighting, but also because the master bathroom would rarely get used, and that's such a waste. And according to the floor plan, they're the same size, just laid out differently.
I clean for work and I had to clean a house that the woman was told the previous owners and real estate company cleaned and we both came to find, that was a lie. It was a surface clean.
Yup, makes sense. It seems like that’s what most places do, if they even clean at all. :/

It's just gross to even think that someone was using this stuff the way it was. It's one thing to not deep clean it for the next person, but wouldn't you want to clean it for yourself?!

Thank you! No lol :) My hair has been growing relatively fast these days, so I know when/if the time comes that I miss the long hair, I can just grow it back.
Peroxide is great for killing mold, Ill put a bottle of it all around and where you detergent, softener, & bleach and let it sit and the I use a lemon drop or 2 tans for dishwasher, & washer tabs, smells amazing.
I think you should put the bed in the corner of the room to your left as you walk in & your dresser against the window wall
That would block the main doorway to the room then. I tried every arrangement and nothing works with the big dresser. Either way, I already have the small one now and I really like how I have the room set up :) These vlogs are a little delayed, so you'll see the update soon!

Oh sam. The water on a at home carpet machine will never come back clear. Those machines have such poor suction that all you're doing is over wetting the carpet and since there isn't much time between cleanings the chance for mold in the carpet padding is high. Everything else you can pretty much deep clean yourself but when it comes to carpets hiring a professional is key. And since it is a complex the company should pay for a professional cleaning.
Good to know! I only did it a couple of times and then gave up, because I figured it wasn't going to get much better.

Lol I never did in the past, but the more I've learned about cleaning, I cannot imagine moving in somewhere without doing a thorough cleaning myself first.

once we got our house we bought higher-end furniture/expensive and i regret it. our taste changes and i no longer like it. and selling it right now for what its worth, no one is buying or willing to pay. sharing as a cautionary tale.

They used fabric softener and way to much of it, that's the gunk that was built up.
Fabric softener would get brown like that though? It literally looked like mud. Either way, gross, but I'm glad I got it completely clean!

I can’t remember if you said this, but is your bf moving in with you or are you staying long distance?
He still has almost a year left of school, so yes, the plan is for him to move down here once he graduates. But by the time he gets here, the lease on this place will almost be up, and I don't know if we will stay here or not. So it will mostly just be me living here, at least for now :)
