- We install some Moog UCA's today. It's mind-blowing that the ball joints separated so easily by jacking up the suspension just a 1/4" inch after having the truck lifted. This is never before seen in my days of turning wrenches.
Thanks for hanging out with us on this one. Tried to keep it straight forward but I hope there's something in this that will help someone. It's such an easy job... The ball joints are usually the hardest part on ALL cars/trucks.
If you have any issues PLEASE comment below so we can all help you.
Here is the kit I use: www.amazon.com/OrionMotorTech... - Хобби
I wasn’t looking for this video but it came up to my feed and my Frontier has the same issue lol i will replace them.
Well thanks for watching and happy wrenching.

Thanks for the video.
You are welcome 👍🏽.
Great Video
Very glad you enjoyed it.
God job and god video
Was there more clearance between the coil bucket and the new UCA than there was with the old UCA?
No unfortunately. It’s the same profile for both.
I’ve got some good squeaks coming from my frontier, not sure it just needs grease or it’s time to start changing stuff
Need to Jack it up and take a pry bar to it. See which part it is.
Le faltó agregar un poco de grasa todo lo que tiene movimiento tiene fricción
Gracias por ver, guey. 😄
Did you use the same trick for the Lower control arms
Actually I just had a shop do those couple years ago. I was too busy at the time to do that myself. Thanks for watching 👍🏽
On the drivers side, do you remember being able to pull the bolt out that is super close to the steering rod? Mine won’t even come out on that side bc of that
My guess is someone has been under there before you bought your truck. No idea how the heck you could put a bolt or remove a bolt from that side. If you’re looking at the upper control arm it should go in that side from the right. The nut should screw on on the left side where that steering rod is.
@@TheAdamConners I agree. Had to pry out the steering column with a crowbar and barley wedged it out just now. Will put it back in the way you described. Doing this job right now and watching your vid helped a lot. Thanks!
That’s ridiculous lol. So glad you were able to make it work. Thanks for sharing the struggle! Someone else may run into the same problem.
Having the same problem now. Trying to figure out how I’m gonna get this damn bolt out
@@deeo2417 it’s definitely a pain. I had to get a leverage bar (fat piece of conduit that I usually use to put over my socket wrenches) and use the top metal piece of the mount as leverage to pry the hell out of the steering boot enough to squeeze that bolt through. Only problem now is, steering wheel is titled a bit. Not sure if it was from me doing that or just because I also changed the lower arms and steering rods. Either way I’m sure prying the steering column is not the best option, but I didn’t see another way. Worked for me.
Damn you are lucky I had to take a torch heat it up and wack it hard with a hammer took almost an hour to get mine off 2017 must be that 4x4 life water dirt rust lol replaced mine with a Z1 UCA 😊
Do you like the Z1 product? Highly considering that for the D41 chassis
@@TheAdamConners I can't give an accurate review answer on that just yet as I literally installed it last night 😅 and needed a few walk through videos to see what I had to. I have Z1 6x114.3 to 6x139.7 1.5' adapter spacers been rocking them since August with 275 65 R18 Rocky Mountain LT AT only issue was needed new lugs got them from autozone on sale. Thought about there cat back but I really like the AFE exhaust plus my name is Adam perfect for Adam's F**king Excellent lmfao 😆 🤣 😄
@@neoskater420 hell yeah 😄
Oh no! Nissan Frontier have weak suspension. Oh Well, hopefully it's not too expensive to replace.
Not expensive at all. The parts are pretty affordable in my opinion. That’s what makes them great trucks.
👍💪🙏
I ordered the same from rockauto
Cool man. Let’s us know if you have any feedback.
did it fix the squeak??
Yes, and then I discovered the pop hahaha. I think I need lower control arms now. It’s gotta be the other ball joint.
What were the symptoms to make you do the uca
How do you remove the driver's side of the upper arm? I see the steering column obstruct its bolt
Yes, the driver side is very difficult. I had to go from the top to reach the bolt and the nut that is near the steering column.
Sounds like a nice fart
