Xiaomi 12 vs Xiaomi 12 Pro Camera Test | 50MP cameras + different sensors = same result?

Howzit everyone, welcome to this mini camera comparison with the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro. Both have a standard rear triple camera setup with 50MP main sensors. The 12 Pro uses the new Sony IMX707 and the standard 12 uses the proven Sony IMX766. The 12 Pro also has a 50MP ultra wide and telephoto lenses, while the 12 has a 13MP ultra wide and 5MP macro sensor (no telephoto). Do these differences really matter? I show you photos and videos in both auto and pro mode, so you can see for yourself.
You might be wondering what is a MINI camera comparison. Well, I’m trying out this new concept with the goal of bringing you more camera comparisons that I otherwise would not have the time to get to if I had to do my normal FULL comparisons. These mini comparisons will not have fullscreen photos or videos, just side-by-side views. There also will not be any cropped images or all the styles and scenarios I share in my full comparisons. This is meant to cutdown on the time I normally take to shoot all the photos and videos, and especially cuts down on my video editing time. This is not to say these phones don’t deserve a full comparison, it’s just that there are so many that I would like to get to but there’s just not enough time for me to get to them all. So, this is my attempt to bring you as many comparisons as possible. Hopefully you understand, but feel free to comment and give me your feedback.

Main camera day and low light seems to make similar foto results.

Great review.I had both ,Chinese variant.Got many updates and camera performance and screen refresh rate bugs improved a lot.IMX707 albeit slightly better in low light ,takes a second less to take a shot, but daytime felt almost same.Kept xiaomi 12, sold 12 pro(battery life was worse than the XM12)

Can't say I saw huge differences in most shots. Maybe slightly more saturation in the 12 Pro, maybe slightly better in ultra-wide, zoom, and low light. Xiaomi 12 held its own against the 12 Pro in my opinion though, even winning some.

Agree, I have cheapest model 12x, and I really like how natural images look, especially compared with overprocessed images from Samsungs and Google phones. There is still lot of processing hapenning, but you can always shoot in RAW if it bothers you ;)

My Xiaomi 12 Pro also experience lens fogging. When i was using data outside the mall the phone gets warm and by the time when i got inside, was about to take a picture and suddenly noticed that it was sooo blurry i thougth i only smudge the lens when eventually it was inside the camera lens. I cooled down the phone and not using it for almost half an hour and it turned back to normal. I Hope Xiaomi needs to address this issue. I am afraid that if it continue to have this kind of problem the moisture build inside the camera lens wont get away.

They do looks so similar to each other. 12pro may win a bit on zoom but the resolution is almost equal. But the fogging issues on 12 pro is unsettling

We are using a lot the ultra wide rear camera for videos of vacations, weekends and vlogging, is the most flexible lens.
But there are many diferences of quality and sharpeness betwen smartphones
Please make a comparison to discover wich one is the best UW for videos

I have a 12 and the colors literally sucks, I had the 8pro and was way better in terms of colors
