    I decided to put God first, but truly first. No regrets. I wish everyone could feel what it's like to live in that peace. I cry often from pure gratitude for what He has done in my life since I fully surrendered it to Him and His service in my work and at my Parish. It's worth every apparent sacrifice.

    God gave us a brain to use and reason with. We all have to follow our conscience instead of just blindly following dogmas that we don't believe in or don't make sense. There is nothing wrong with being a good person or with being happy. I am sure that God wants that. May the peace of the Lord be with all of you. (I don't want to argue with anyone.) All the best.

    Choosing more moralistic types of choices in the constitution of our freedom is a CHOICE; Those who are doing so for various reasons, look at all the attacks upon them then ask yourselves why they are attacked: the DEVIL DOES NOT EXIST? I was a fornicator and when so I had all sorts of health issues. After having made the choice to fully live for God along with the truthful discussion about the attitude and conduct from males in general as yet still being solo in my mid 50's I have no female GYN issues any longer; What did God tell Mary Magdalene who was a prostitute? "Where are all your accusers now Mary (as God shared a statement to those who were going to condemn her to death with stones); Go and sin no more".

    • @AranelEruvyreth

      @@mikeryan7213 Honestly I think it was prudent because the people who most needed to hear this message are the same people who hear the name Jordan Peterson and will immediately discredit everything that comes after on that basis alone. These are also the same people who don’t actually know what Jordan Peterson says or believes, therefore are leas likely to make the connection. The ones who can pin this quote to Jordan Peterson with ease are typically ones who would have listened to the message either way and taken it to heart. He’s trying not to distract from the main message of the sermon and while you may not agree with it, knowing a lot of Catholics who are in the former category as I do, I think he made the prudent decision here. If a member of the congregation was really curious later about who this psychologist is, they could ask him after mass, but drawing attention to his name would not have enhanced the sermon any and could have led to many who needed to hear the message disregarding it before it was even heard.
      This is, unfortunately, the kind of psychology we have to battle against. It was not cowardice that kept him from naming the name, but prudence.

    • @mikeryan7213
      @mikeryan7213 11 месяцев назад

      @AranelEruvyreth I'm afraid referencing that dude immediately loses the priest his credibility. Because if you research the things that dude has come out with, then you wouldn't touch his stuff with a barge pole

    • @AranelEruvyreth
      @AranelEruvyreth 11 месяцев назад

      @@mikeryan7213 I suppose that’s a fair opinion. I don’t watch or listen to Peterson, personally. He occasionally says some good things, but a broken clock is also right twice a day as the saying goes. His surface assertions to young men to clean their rooms, take personal responsibility, and get their life in order are very good ones, but many of them view him in almost a deistic sense and hang on every one of his words and he has plenty of kookier ideas, many of which stem from the fact that he is very much not a Christian. This is the thing, though - you can reference a quote from someone whose philosophy and psychology you think is bad, if that quote has truth. Martin Luther King Jr is an example of someone who had an objectively terrible personal life, but still got a lot of things right in another sense. The fact that he was an adulterer doesn’t lend any less credibility to the things he says that are true and a person who quotes him doesn’t lose credibility because the person they quoted was a hypocrite. I feel the same way when people quote Peterson and others of his ilk. Because the point is a good one, even if the man behind it doesn’t have a worldview based on the truth of Christ and scripture and is therefore flawed.

    • @mikeryan7213
      @mikeryan7213 11 месяцев назад

      @AranelEruvyreth big difference between someone being messy in their personal life, and someone who is avowedly not Christian, and who associates with the alt right on occasion. I think the priest is mistaken, there are less controversial thinkers he could quote. The impression is given that perhaps the priest is a fan of that dude, and this of course puts an entirely different complexion on things.
