Anyone else watching this and wanting to join. DO IT! Im scared too, but the excitement of my future success overrides it
The same thing is happening to me. My mom told me that this was an option that I should look into, so I looked into it and found these videos. Now hopefully if everything goes well, I should leave near the end of this month!
lol aperently BEAST has changed a lot. When my dad was there in 2000, it was called “Warrior week”. My cousin just graduated BMT today and went through PACER FORGE, which is just a shorter version of BEAST. I’m excited to enlist once i finish high school and college.
26:34 i've gone down a rabbit hole of watching military documentaries and i always enjoy moments like this where the tension is broken and the trainees can laugh
I'm an Army Veteran and I went to BCT at Fort Knox in 2004 (when it was still a BCT base). I have a lot of respect for all the military branches. We have our jokes, but at the end of the day, we're a team. I especially have respect for the ones who enlisted at ages 18,19 and 20. That's very young and still "babies." I enlisted in the Army "late" at 26 years old. I wasn't that mature at 18 and 19, and that to me deserves a lot of respect for the teenagers who enlist in the military. For the ones who want to enlist, don't take the yelling personally. It's to make you stronger mentally and physically with the rest of the training. We've all gotten yelled at and get treated badly. Everyone you see wearing a uniform was once in the same place as you. I know that in the Army Drill Sergeant School, they get yelled at and get treated badly, like in BCT. Also, schools like RANGER, Airborne, Air Assault, Special Forces; ext. get yelled at and get treated badly and even if you are an NCO and officer. It's part of the military way of special schools to "break" them again. But once you go to your unit, you won't be getting yelled at get treated with respect. Except of course if you do or say something stupid you will get in trouble. Take the training very seriously. The DS are passing the skills to you and giving you the torch. Have high respect for them. They get up very early too and away for long hours away from their families. I deployed to Iraq in 2005 - 2006, and that was one heck of an experience. And at times it feels surreal. Now as a civilian, I'm like "Wow, and did all that!" Don't get in trouble while in the military either. It's not worth losing your benefits when you become a civilian. All that hard work you put in, and not getting those VA benefits is not worth getting in trouble. Do what you are supposed to do, and do your best. And you will be good to go. I hope the trainees, trainers, and cadre can do a follow-up and see how are they doing.

I was in BEAST for the 4th of July 2017. Being on tent guard duty that night and watching fireworks on the horizon was one of the few peaceful moments…but Mopp Level 4 in Texas July heat was BRUTAL.
I remember being a TDL, getting sunburnt to hell and running around getting attacked all day. Finally got some time to rest in my battle rattle when the camp got night raided! That carried me straight into my ECP guard shift watching over the camp.. not to mention an EC shift the night prior. I basically didn't sleep for like 2 days.. ahh memories 😂
There was NO TALKING during our obstacle course. No Laughing. The TI's were rough. One instance a TI yelled... "Female, why can't you get your sad sack self over that obstacle?" and then "Female, tell me no man is going to help you do your damn job in the Air Force." She replied, "No man will help me, sir. I can do it all by myself." Her second try, she made it over the wall! Do you think he motivated her or did she have it in her? Proud of all the females here.
Why do you address women as females? I just kinda wanna know the purpose why some men do so. Ive never ran into anyone calling men “males” and recently have been seeing men addressing women as “females” its just kinda odd. Sounds more dehumanizing almost like a robot or a science project. Idk me and other women like always wonder why some men do that, often times the men who address women as females also show to have underlining resentment for them so it sometimes comes off condescending. Idk almost like when you see a baby and call it a neonate. People will look at you weird😂. Then again I also dont know where your from.
37:16 that’s me on the right who falls in and screams when I hit the water. This was filmed December of 2019 and the only reason I remember that is because I went to beast on my birthday and it was cut slightly short because of Christmas :)
@@DemonLord_D they just lifted a lot of the covid rules. I went through a few months ago and we had to do a bunch of stuff that you won’t have to do. You’ll still need to wear a mask though, I think.
I remember coming down with pneumonia the day we were heading back to the dorms from BEAST week. It hit me fast and it hit me hard. I was recycled about 10 days because of it and that's only because I brute forced my way into clearing myself by doing a 15 minute treadmill run while I'm still coughing up gunk. I really had to pester them to let me test out of the med flight (what a depression shithole that was). It was really hard seeing my original flight around the dorms and graduating before me. I did manage to strategically meet up with a bunch of them at the chapel one last time and passed on a note to be read by the whole flight. The MTI from my new flight told me to go to the dorm of my original flight on orders of my original MTI. I show up and they're all in the day room and presented me with the flight shirt. I got to say my proper goodbyes and left. Felt like a bit of my heart was left behind that night, but it was a moment I'd never forget. 323 FLT 100 2010-2011
Wow. I got very sick in basic, as well. Fought through it. Got to tech school (Sheppard) and went to sick call day 1. Was immediately admitted to the hospital and spent two weeks there. Luckily my tech school didn't start for 3 weeks. Amazing what the body can overcome when you set your mind to it. That was 30 years ago. If I get the sniffles now I feel like I am going to die. LOL.
This brought back memories of my Air Force basic and training days. So pleased to see them transition and become great Airman and then off to infamous tech schools!!! Great vids
Yeah, when I went thru boot camp in 2000/2001 it was 6 weeks. I actually was in boot camp for 8 weeks because I failed my wall locker twice :(. I don't remember what the failures where I think strings and maybe some folded clothes. But after the second time my nose was in that locker, and I passed finally and graduated lol. Oh, the memories. I also had problems with my final fitness test almost as well. I barely did enough sit-ups to pass. My advice to folks is make sure you check your wall locker all the time and for fitness issues, make sure if you are weak on something, get that strength up in that area.
What did you get from your Air Force experience? 1 Bachelors Degree (Human Resources), 2 Associate Degrees (Criminal Justice and HR), a permanent retirement, Tricare medical coverage ($25 a month), and this is with 7 tours to the desert. Take the good with the bad and YOU will have to make sacrifices to make the Air Force a career. Best wishes and of course, "Air Power!"
I love how they're like "We're praying for all religions, whoever your God is, that's who we're praying to" and then immediately opens the prayer with "Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus-"
Agreed. It definitely has evolved into current real-world scenarios with matching deployments. And, M-16 range was not a part of it. The "Weaver" I remember it going at an upward angle and some of the obstacles were over water, like the dual rope side step. Ahh, the memories!

I’m listening to this as background noise at work while wearing my 326th Bulldogs flight 743 shirt from my days in basic. I loved basic, it was a absolute blast, met someone lifelong friends, had some good laughs and cries. But their flight is no where near where our flight was as far as closeness. They seem so individualized that it blows my mind that this flight made it to graduation.
Went through back in March of 2017!!! A lot has changed. FEST week was Week 4 and we went through the gas chambers that week. BEAST Week was Week 5 and we were there from Monday morning through Friday Afternoon. We wore our blues Week 6 and had our final PT Test, BMTSG Test and Evaluations and practiced for Parade!! Week 7 was Graduation week where we saw our families. Week 8 was Airman’s Week where they took all the graduating Airmen from each training squadron and moved them to the 326th TRS. There at Airman’s Week, you were in a new flight and had new MTIs. They didn’t yell much, but they were strict as well. You broke up into groups and were given real world scenarios of situations that happened to Airmen as soon as they got to tech school.
I think you’re nitpicking by saying “A LOT has changed” bro. I went through Dec 2016 - Feb 2017 (320th TRS) and imo the experience was exactly as showcased in this documentary. Especially Disneyland. Beast, Fest (I don’t even remember what that is), etc. don’t really matter - they are small parts of a curriculum in a big picture. Airman’s Week was so short, it’s pretty irrelevant although the “What Now Airman?” videos were pretty funny lol
@@FlyingMonet how am I nitpicking??? That’s exactly what happened when I went through BMT!!! The curriculum always changes. Different airmen have different experiences. I was just stating my experience. 💯
I went to BMT during the winter, Christmas time. Because it was so cold, we didn't get to get the whole BEAST experience. Instead of doing EC walking around the tent, we stayed inside. And we didn't get to do the rope swing over water because the water was frozen
Trainee Montgomery-Conley shows he can do anything, just still see some attitude, hard to describe. Believe some time in the regular Air Force may smooth out those rough edges. Thought from last week - if Trainee Montgomery-Conley is that tight on money, why have his wife come down for graduation? That money's going to be needed during tech school. He'd likely want to have his wife with him then. Trainee Bayless looked to be in his element, hope he made all the way through his pipeline training. Trainee Lollar adapted well, moved right on through. Believe she's a real asset to her unit. Hate to say this, but gut feeling is Trainee Rodriguez-Oliveros (sp?) is heading for the wrong AFSC. Doesn't seem to be a good fit for Security Forces, would say better for Law Enforcement, don't know if they are still two different things in today's AF. If not, then something else.
hey!! just seeing this comment now! i’m MC’s wife, and thankfully i was still working while he was in bmt and i was able to save enough money up to go down to see him graduate, plus his grandmother came with me as well! i also was able to go with him to tech school. things were a little tight back then but now at the end of 2021 we’re doing really well! he does still have a bit of attitude to him (but i love him for it lol)!

Loved BEAST. Should be longer. More opportunities to redo and perfect armed combat scenarios and perhaps some squad vs squad stuff (Vigilant vs Reaper) like capture the flag or sumn with more practical tactical stuff
When I moved over to the security forces and we had to hit the range a lot more often. I kept failing on the M16. The instructors thought that I didn't add a shoot. One of the instructors took that rifle himself and tried to zero it and shoot it. He was way off just like I was. They pulled that rifle off the line and it turns out it was bent to the left. They gave me a different rifle was dead on with every shot.

If you have been diagnosed by a doctor as having ADD/ADHD, you must meet the following requirements in order to apply: - Must be off medication for a minimum of 15 months. (You must be removed off of the medication by a doctor and it is written in your medical records. An applicant cannot just stop taking prescribed medications on their own.) - You must have a current note from primary care provider validating stable status with condition, must summarize the diagnosis, history of treatment, and should rule out any residual of ADD/ADHD - Show evidence of successful academic and work endeavors while off medication - Show evidence that applicant was not provided classroom aids such as private study area, special tutors, additional time to complete assignments or tests. There's a phrase called becky eating crackers where if someone does even the slightest thing you get extremely annoyed at it even if it's relatively innocuous. Montgomery is my Becky.
The only thing that really surprised me was the summer camp atmosphere at the obstacle course. When I went through it in 1969, all you heard was yelling and screaming from the TI's. Trainees had to be completely silent. Laughing and joking wouldn't have been tolerated. On the other hand, basic was only six weeks long at that time!
At this time, I was at Camp Bliss about 40 mins away for Security Forces tech school. We hadn't been issued cold weather gear other a single fleece since basic was in the extreme heat of summer. We were allowed to wear whatever we could to stay warm underneath our uniforms. Plus though we weren't allowed to put on MOP gear for beast week. It was literally 105-110 everyday we were there. 78 degrees in our tent at night at beast.
I think you mean Camp Bullis. I was there in AP Tech School in Jan 67. No cold weather gear at all, just the lightweight OD green jacket. No hearing protection at the firing range. My ears hurt and rang for three days. Went back to Lackland with strept throat. Went to the dispensary and got some liquid antibiotics. Even though I was really sick with chills and fever, I managed to make it through the next week. Fortunately, the next week was classroom training. At that point, I sure didn't want to start Tech School all over again.
I was out there watching the Cadre build those obstacles in 2014 when I was on EA recruiting duty. We had a day in the dedicated day in the Recruiting School House where we went down to watch see what they do all over again and watched a parade. Pretty cool to see what all the people we put in went through as opposed to me doing the 6 1/2 week course with Warrior Week instead of BEAST week lol.
I'm sure you're Airman will excel! My son leaves Tuesday for BMT. I went through in 2001 and am so excited for him. I enjoyed BMT and I bet your airman will as well!
How did 10 people fail that test like we had half our flight barely look at the book and passed, those people had to have been just not paying any attention in the classes.
@@arsenals781 I was actually in this video and they conveniently changed out the tests a few weeks before my week group took it. There were 2 tests. The A test and the B test. A test being the original “easy” test, and the B test being the more difficult test. Needless to say we only had one honor graduate in my flight because she couldn’t make the original test date so she had to do the make up test and the make up test was the original easy one and that’s how she got honor graduate.

WW was fun. There was one night we had to go back to the dorm because of a tornado warning. In the tent, there was a scorpion and the girls freaked out. We didn't do gas chamber for some reason. We did wear the gear and mask up. The following week, 9/11 happened and that's when everything changed.

If they want to have some fun, try MOPP 4 during a NATO TacEval in Turkey during the summer on the flight line. As a Security Police, it was not unusual to have to remain in that condition for an extended time in that brutal summer heat. Especially with the rubber gas mask hoods attached to the M17A1 mask.
When I went through BMT in March of 1990, the gas chamber was 'down'. Whatever that meant. Our test was some banana scented oil they rubbed on their finger. Put it in front of our masks to see if we could smell it. That was it. We lucked out, but part of me wish I would have experienced it the correct way.

At 37.33 why was the instructor shorting the trainee on the rope? The trainee looked like she was serious about trying to swing on the rope but the instructor swung the rope way short and then told her to go in the water.
on what planet are those things called pushups? 1 of my additional specialty courses was 5 months. 300 new soldiers and over 50 NCOs in addition to the Drill Sgts. lol aperently BEAST has changed a lot.
Where are you watching these documentaries? Please recommend!

I only failed the EOC once and passed it the second time with a 88( they give ya 3 shots at it before they wash you )
What did you get from your Air Force experience? 1 Bachelors Degree (Human Resources), 2 Associate Degrees (Criminal Justice and HR), a permanent retirement, Tricare medical coverage ($25 a month), and this is with 7 tours to the desert.
When I was in basic y’all’s squadron was where all the graduates went for airmen’s week which was like a mix of bmt and tech school imo

Right, we went thru hell compared to this, lol 😆 I was in another branch.
Montgomery was for sure that ROTC kid
At this time, I was at Camp Bliss about 40 mins away for Security Forces tech school. We hadn't been issued cold weather gear other a single fleece since basic was in the extreme heat of summer. We were allowed to wear whatever we could to stay warm underneath our uniforms. Plus though we weren't allowed to put on MOP gear for beast week. It was literally 105-110 everyday we were there. 78 degrees in our tent at night at beast.
I was there on an august and we still had to wear mopp gear
I think you mean Camp Bullis. I was there in AP Tech School in Jan 67. No cold weather gear at all, just the lightweight OD green jacket. No hearing protection at the firing range. My ears hurt and rang for three days. Went back to Lackland with strept throat. Went to the dispensary and got some liquid antibiotics. Even though I was really sick with chills and fever, I managed to make it through the next week. Fortunately, the next week was classroom training. At that point, I sure didn't want to start Tech School all over again.
I remember those tents. i honestly had the best night of sleep in those. the AC was freezin and i was right next to it.

Not paying attention is an understatement… those tests are EXTREMELY easy..
@@arsenals781 I was actually in this video and they conveniently changed out the tests a few weeks before my week group took it. There were 2 tests. The A test and the B test. A test being the original “easy” test, and the B test being the more difficult test. T Minus 11 Days until I follow these Airman’s footsteps and acquire the title of “AIRMAN” let’s go AIR FORCE! FLIGH HIGH!
Hey man! It’s Reid from the D&TF at Peterson. Thanks for recommending this series it’s awesome. See you on the other side.
You got this Dylan. I went through in May 2020 so idk what's changed, but give it everything you got and make sure you know what your goals are. Come back and update us on how it went :)
@@JD_Main is 25 a weird/old age to join??
@@OscarOffTheCuff nope 😀 I went in at 25. You'll get a lot of newly graduated kids but my flight had a few "older" guys.
@@JD_Main i turned 25 2 weeks after BMT. I was the "old man" in the flight & turned out i was a couple years older than 2 of my TI's, lol.
It was great to watch these and relive my basic experience. Granted alot has changed in 22 years.
How about some JFIRE MOPP gear on a nice hot summer day in Texas lol.
Try Mopp 4 for 4 days of continuous flight ops in the summer
@@ethanhiggins4887 yep been there done that at Kunsan AB, Korea.
@@ipune I did also at Osan AB and K2.
Been there, done that!
throws up= that's weakness leaving the body
If you get anything below an 80 on the EOC you may qualify for the Marines
When I went through BMT in March of 1990, the gas chamber was 'down'. Whatever that meant. Our test was some banana scented oil they rubbed on their finger. Put it in front of our masks to see if we could smell it. That was it. We lucked out, but part of me wish I would have experienced it the correct way.
Seriously, a banana scent in front on the gas mask?!!!🤣
@@peterodriscoll2645 I know, right? And, we didn't even go in the 'chamber'. We stood outside and did it. 😂
You know you have had a rough life when you find a MRE tasty.
the ham slab was the only edible MRE, hot or cold. i don't know what the options are now, but i'm sure there's still a ham slab
Apple jelly
It’s a trip watching these females go through basic. We never prayed in basic, except when we went to church on Sunday.
27:50 Not gunna lie i would fail that & i am ex army. & did do SF training. But monkey bars i don't have the grip strength & never have even when i benched over 300 lbs as a normal rep. Guess i didn't use my hands the way everyone else did the majority of my life. You know i heard alot of AF soldiers say basic is more about mental than physical, but it sure seems physical to me.
27:53
It’s all fun and games, till they make you do those obstacle courses in full gear. At PACERFORGE, we had to do them in full gear, with: Your canteen belt and canteens, battle rattle (helmet for you civilians), and flak vest 😂
BMTS 3723/FLT035 Jan-Feb ‘83..Been there done that!!!
They complained about going through the gas chamber but those of us leaving for basic this year don’t get the chamber and it kinda sucks.
WHY?
@@lghths want the full experience
Basic training in 1979 was nothing like it is today.
easier or harder?
@@alade.eunice It was much easier back then, and it was only 6 weeks long.
Way easier, we didn't have to do that airman creed or sing the a.f song on cue, way easier but I suspect 9-11 changed it all.
Back in the late 90s, we didn't have gas chamber training (don't remember why) and I never went into the gas chamber until three months before I got out in 2007 at Shaw. It is still burned into my memory to this day.
Ship out March 26 for BMT

At 37.33 why was the instructor shorting the trainee on the rope? The trainee looked like she was serious about trying to swing on the rope but the instructor swung the rope way short and then told her to go in the water.
on what planet are those things called pushups? 1 of my additional specialty courses was 5 months. 300 new soldiers and over 50 NCOs in addition to the Drill Sgts. They are not trained properly; being trained to TIME vs STANDARD. I don't know why the recruiters are not doing their jobs. Perfected pushups slanted against a desktop would have helped them. They were shrugs against the ground.
6:29 Those are the sorriest excuses for push-ups that I have Ever Seen in my Entire Life!! And why are the Cadre not grading the End of Cycle PT Test?! I served 12 years in the Army, 2003-2015, including serving as a Drill Sergeant 2012-2013 at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. I’m very sad to say that over half of these kids would have Never made it through 14 weeks with myself and my Battle Buddies, during 12B/12C One Station Unit Training (OSUT)…We Crushed Hopes and Dreams 😂 But better That, than to send a bunch of Mushy Turds….Downrange!! After watching these videos Alcatraz was way different lmaoo
Gad Bless América. USA USA
I just left BMT about 2 weeks ago the pool is now overgrown and we didn’t get to do it. Bummer
do they soften bmt on camera or is it like this
1:30 if he loves wearing blues, he prob went to honor guard once he got to his assign base tbh
1:09 I've gotta poop and change bro😂😂
Dang, I remember standing in the chamber and having to wait there with the mask off while everyone had to say their reporting statement before they could walk out the door.......
I just held my breath the entire time, well tried to anyways lol. Cant breathe in to hold your breath if you breathe in the gas at the same time lol 😂
Adapt and overcome Airmen Montgomery.
Is this during Covid times ? I ship in February , i wonder if it’s exactly going to be like this.
no, this was back in 2019, pre-covid. I remember seeing the film crew for these flights during my time in bmt.
I graduated November 12 2020 and my BMT experience was a lot different. CovidBMT sucked as alot more things were limited and activities had to be amended to fit the safety measures at the time.
What day in February? I will probably see you there
@@kellenrobotics can confirm this was filmed 2 years ago. I was the girl that jumped for the rope and screamed the water was cold :,)
Filming of this project began in filming in October 2019 in each trainee’s hometown and wrapped with their completion of basic training in January 2020.

“Aye just walk! It’s 4 feet.” LMAO 😭
4 yrs isn't that far off but I think I can do it and I will join at any cost because I'm already pushing alot of things aside to do What I always wanted to do I'm extremely stoked to see if I will be in a team in the airforce
In navy, I got CS gas blown in my face, they used a fan and I was dead center in front. I was dying.
18:00 this man took a deep breath in his mask first. Then mouthed his reporting statement and held his breath the whole time with his eyes closed. sheesh
Sounds as though whoever did the music for this was a fan of HBO's "Chernobyl", based on the music used in the gas attack practice bit.
4:50 "Just think of it as your god!"
5:05 "Heavenly father lord Jesus"
Lfmaaao I thought the same thing 😂😂😂😂
No jumping jacks or singing of the AF Song in the gas???
My MTI was in BMT 6 years ago and said they did jumping jacks in the gas chamber. We just had to give a reporting statement and stay between the yellow lines.
That was so funny!! it remind me of major pain with the Wayans brother
