I love all the beautiful crystals, but after the masters touch on the wheel the are amazing. I like the trillion the best. Thanks for sharing a look at you beautiful hand full of treasures . Keep the goodness coming. Be happy, safe and stay healthy 😷⚒
They are all gorgeous, but it has to be the trillion if i had to pick a favorite! They are all fabulous though! That quartz really does look like a diamond!
My favorites are the triangle cut - I have never see that cut before (2:46); The cut at 2:55; Finally the cut at 3:09. Now I know why you go crystal hunting. Until I saw a video on peridot I didn't know that semi-precious stone are tumbled to define clarity before cutting. Very informative and fun. Thank you. ~Dan
Actually, few gems are tumbled prior to faceting. It would be nice if all facet rough were pre-tumbled. It would certainly make finding inclusions much easier but the vast majority of facet rough on the market, is simply a rough stone right out of the ground. Some are "cobbed" to remove the lousy and included parts. The cleaner the rough, the easier it is to see it's inclusion-free, the more expensive it is. And that's before you begin faceting when anything can happen (not always good). BTW - the cuts you refer to with the time-stamps, are "Alien Outpost", standard Step-Cut often referred to as an "Emerald Cut" and the last one is a "Combination Cut" which utilizes a "Brilliant" cut Pavilion and a "Step Cut" Crown. The latter provides the best outcome of the two options. A brilliant is bright and sparkly while a step cut maintains carat weight but is not necessary very brilliant. One of them shown is basically a rectangular Brilliant with brilliant cut Pavilion and Crown. Thanks for your comments.
Hiya Greg, dude! That's so awesome and very beautiful! Shoot they're almost as hard as a diamond, really close to it, they will make beautiful rings. I don't think I can choose one......😉 they're just too beautiful. I didn't get to start on making those silver cabs yet, I have 30 cabs to finish first, and I'm still picking through all my stones to send too you. I hope you have a awesome blessed day. Cya! 😺🐟 out!
Da heck with diamonds.... these are beautiful 😍, 1st choice trillion cut, but ooh the emerald cut or whatever you called them, nice😎. Thanks for sharing the video!
He Meminer, I like the brilliant cut, the best out of the three. However the trillion cut piece is what I would go for if I had a piece as clear as yours to cut. Beautiful clear quartz and very nicely cut. Those pieces turned out awesome. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin
Oh man! Those are gorgeous quartz crystals! 😍. What a cool display in a glass. Looks like ice! 😃 The facets are so beautiful! The cuts are perfect! What a great job you did! 🥰 Would I ever love to find some of those in the wild. Maybe one day eh? 😉
WOW, meMiner! Just gorgeous, I like the round, the Alien, the Step Cut, the Brilliant - I assume they are nowhere near as hard-wearing as the 'real thing', but I love them 'cos they are naturally stunning, so would probably prefer one of those impressive stones over a cubic zirconia - if there was a choice! Thanks for showing us... keep safe - glad to see you looking fine.
On the contrary. While Quartz is only 7 on Moh's Scale of Hardness, Quartz is pretty resilient and won't scratch nearly as quickly or as badly as many other gemstones. You'd have to be doing some heavy work to scratch one of these puppies. However, CZ is most certainly much harder and much more sparkly (having a much higher Refractive Index).
@@SnowTiger45 Good to know - but is this commonly used in jewellery or other uses? I s'pose it looked better than perhaps I expected, but maybe if we compared CZ, diamonds & quartz side by side we'd spot the difference & why a Diamond would be worth so much more. But then, I guess, not all quartz or diamonds are created =?? Thanks for explaining.
Very nice, was this from the quartz you collected last year? I think I remember we talked about the possibility of cutting some of the cleat material, glad it worked out nicely. I live the trilian cut the most out of all of them.
Ha ha ha… in the very beginning when you were holding up the quartz Crystal it sounded like it was you that started breathing heavily. It had me cracking up. It was your dog.
Still got that time machine I see, can it be used on anything else or just tumblers. Some nice clear crystals you have there, not many are perfectly clear. Each gem is cut so it will reflect the light back in the best way, each facet is cut then polished, it is a very complex process requiring extreme lapidary hygene so avoiding cross contamination, patients and concentration, continue the number of passes made when grinding so they are all cut the same, changing over once the underside is cut must be done with the same care as each facet is cut, one mistake can ruin a stone completely. My favourite here was Chris, for the blinding job he did cutting those stones. Kudos.
Heading up to Temagami for 7 weeks June 24th- August 9th. Would love to explore the old Temagami mine with ya for a few days. I'll pick ya up from the end of the mine road.
Thanks again for the opportunity to collaborate with you. I enjoyed it. I'm happy that you are happy with your cut stones. Chris PS> My favorite is likely "Alien Outpost" but the Trilliant is hard to beat for sparkles.
Really cool! Those look great! The trillion mix is my favorite cut aside from baguette or marquis. I can’t facet my own yet. You going to make the settings yourself?
meMiner provided the Quartz that he collected and I asked to cut some (mainly because there are few Facet Grade Minerals/Crystals found in Canada). So that's me, Chris cutting the stones. He sent me a quite a pile of material to work with and I agreed to cut several for him in return. Thanks for the compliment.
Beautiful, but my favorite favorite is opposed bar cut - at least i think that is a name of that cut. I once saw a video with topaz or turmaline cut in that spwcific way for it to look like it was censored or pixelated. I hope some day I will buy a nice gem with opposed bar cut. And if you get more clear quartz in future try ordering one with opposed bar cut.
@@meMiner No, I'll start with flat surfaces. Also I don't know if this machine will be capable of doing cabs - it don't have diamond wheel, but steel where you can speinkle soms grit.

I like the alien outpost :)
That was really Cool! They all turned out great! I wonder what a red garnet It would look like if it was cut like that?
Wow... absolutely stunning~
I want to go mining w/yal some day!!
I like the trillium cut! (At least that’s what I thought you said.) If so, it seems appropriate for an Ontario sourced crystal.
It's actually called a "Trilliant" but trillium also sounds nice and would be appropriate for Ontario Quartz. :)
Wow! I would wear any of those!
I like the step cut and the, as you call it, alien outpost but all are very nice. 😃
Hope u and family are doing well.
