Collecting Fossils at Mounds Reef, Utah!

  • Spent a day in the desert of Central Utah to collect fossils at a relatively well known spot, Mounds Reef near Wellington, Utah. Found a few ammonites as well as a variety of other fossil shells!

    Mounds Reef is huge, can you give approximate directions to the fossil area or maybe even coordinates please? Just an old retired couple that would like a couple specimens to admire. Thanks

    Wow. Been in the area a couple of times to look at the large concretion balls out there, but didn’t know about all the fossils.
