    Hi Hayley, another great video from you and your team. Well done. To all those who commented here, my wife and I applied for the Elite visa a year ago and we are living in Chiangmai. During this year we have travelled quite extensively to Singapore, Hong Kong and domestically. Between us we have 48 airport limousine services, completely free of charge. Do the maths on what it will cost you for taxis to your home or hotel and you will see how useful this service is. For checking out and checking in back to Thailand, you will also be met with an Elite Visa personnel who will guide and assist you through the immigration process.
    In terms of service from both Hailey’s and the Elite Visa team, they are faultless. Full of enthusiasm, courteous, very very helpful and will go out of their way to assist you. We have absolutely no complaints about their services.
    The only issue we have with Thailand is the 90 day reporting. I think they should do away with this if we hold long term visa and just make it an annual reporting service. However, having said that, Hailey and her Angels will remind us at least a week before our 90 day reporting is due and they will manage and take care of the reporting.
    So, if you are seriously considering retiring in Thailand, I would not hesitate to recommend Hailey and her Angels and the Elite Visa. Good luck.

    While researching the possibilities of living in Thailand, I learned from Bloomberg News: “The baht is emerging as Southeast Asia's worst-performing currency in the second half, losing 7% during the period and hitting a 16-year low.”
    One video showed that if a retired person put 800,000 bhat into a Thai bank account in 2021, they would have lost nearly $3,000 of value by 2022.

    • @martypoll
      @martypoll 2 года назад +2

      The 800,000 baht is an immigration requirement not an investment opportunity. You bring money into Thailand to spend in Thailand. The exchange rate in early 2021 was 30 baht to the US dollar and increased to as high as 38 baht to the dollar in December 2022. 2022 was a great year to bring money into Thailand to spend in Thailand. I brought money into Thailand this year to build a house. I saved a considerable amount of money due to the favorable exchange rate.

    • @ThailandEliteSpecialist
      @ThailandEliteSpecialist  2 года назад +4

      Right, the money is primarily used for the financial requirement. It’s also possible to hold funds in a foreign currency account, and meet the financial requirement holding USD in a Thai bank account.

    • @awakening80
      @awakening80 9 месяцев назад

      It's a mute point. IS dollars & other currencies are experiencing inflation that equates to about the same . The value of consumer goods in Thailand is much cheaper than the US. Or you can stay in your home country w o the benefits of the land of smiles.

  • @edwardsimpson8257

    At the Thai embassy site it says that you have to have $800,000 or 65,000 in a monthly income. I don't ever see anybody when they talk about getting a Thai Visa. They always mentioned the 800,000 and not the 65,000 monthly income.

    • @maximusextreme3725
      @maximusextreme3725 2 года назад

      A 5 year elite visa is 600,000 baht and there's no monthly income minimum.

    • @martypoll
      @martypoll 2 года назад +2

      To use the monthly income method you must show one year of monthly deposits of a minimum of 65,000 baht from a foreign source at the time of application. Typically people don’t have a full year of deposits when they first apply for the O visa so they are required to use the 800,000 baht deposit method. Once you have a year of deposits you can switch to the monthly method at your next yearly extension. They also don’t mention that the financial requirements are lower if you are married to a Thai, 400,000 baht deposit or 40,000 baht/month.

    • @ThailandEliteSpecialist
      @ThailandEliteSpecialist  2 года назад

      Martin provided an excellent explanation about the monthly income method. It is not usually an option for Non O applicants when they first arrive in Thailand.

    How long is the process for the Retirement visa? As I understood, you have to have 800,000 baht security deposit or if you don’t have it another option is a 65,000 income. Am I correct?

    • @ThailandEliteSpecialist
      @ThailandEliteSpecialist  Год назад

      It typically takes about 3 months to change from a tourist visa to the Non O (3 month) visa + 1 year extension.
      Varying by country, it *may* be possible to meet the financial requirement using the monthly income method of 65K thb, but many Embassies no longer issue the Affadavit verifying pension.

    I'm so glad I found you! It was super generous of you to give so much detailed info, instead of the usual mystical video just saying to schedule a consult. And you answered most of my other questions in the comments. Sometimes, giving information results in more business. You will have mine, for sure! I have watched tons of videos and read countless websites and none made the Elite look worth the money before. Not having to pay for health insurance is HUGE.
    One question, (even though I'll be making an appointment with you), which others may also have, is what happens if you get the 20 year visa and you're still alive and kicking? Can you get another 5 or 10 year elite visa extension then? And, I guess I have one more question...would there be any issues staying in Thailand if you want or need to go into a Thai care home while on the elite visa? Would you be good to stay on it?
    I wanted to let you know, by the way, that there is a problem with your website link. I tried it in both Safari and Firefox and got an error that the site isn't secure and couldn't be connected to. Might just be down this evening (Saturday night March 4th), but thought I'd give you a heads-up. The scheduling site appears to be working fine, though.
    Thanks for the great info. You're a real pro.

Also, when applying for 1year extension, do I still use my home country (Canada Vancouver) financial document to prove it or do I have to deposit to a Thai bank?

    • @ThailandEliteSpecialist

      The Elite visa does not have any medical insurance requirement. The Non OA retirement visa requires health insurance from a Thai health insurance provider, which is challenging for expats over 70 or 75 years old since few insurers will allow you to register for insurance at that age.

    hi Hayley thank you for the information. We are considering retiring in Thailand in a few years. I saw elsewhere that the elite visa requires proof of a $40,000 USD annual income and it covers spouses. I'm wondering does nonOA cover spouses also? If the couple is a same sex couple does the visa still cover the spouses?
    Thank you

    • @ThailandEliteSpecialist
      @ThailandEliteSpecialist  Год назад +1

      Hi Maike,
      Good questions!
      1. There is absolutely no financial requirement for the Elite visa proving 40K USD income. You may be thinking of the LTR, which is a completely different visa.
      2. Non OA is an individual visa, but your spouse can apply for a Non O Dependency visa to piggyback off the Non OA.
      3. Non O and Non OA visas are issued directly under Immigration, which does not recognize same sex marriage. The Elite visa, however, is issued under the Tourism Authority of Thailand, and they recognize same sex marriage. We have helped numerous same sex couples with Elite visas :)

    • @ThailandEliteSpecialist
      @ThailandEliteSpecialist  2 года назад +1

      Regardless of the agent you work with, payment should be made directly to Thailand Elite (Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd.). Thailand Elite is a private company and state enterprise, with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (government department) the sole owner. You can read more here: thailandelite.com/aboutus/?info=whoWeAre

    • @ThailandEliteSpecialist
      @ThailandEliteSpecialist  2 года назад +1

      Also - You do not work with the Thai Embassy during the application process. The only reason why you would work with them is after you complete the application process, you can get the visa placed in your passport from the Thai Embassy closest to you, however I wouldn't recommend this. You will save time, energy, and paperwork by getting the visa in your passport upon arrival at the airport in Thailand.

    When they check for overstays, is that any overstay, or just one resulting in removal or a ban? If you get a fine at the airport, but no ban, would that preclude you from successful application?
