India should have operated its Air Force first, instead of sending its ground soldiers to capture the Area, where Air Force had to face difficulty in ascertaining the difference between its own and enemy soldiers. Once the area was cleared by the Air Force, the ground forces could occupy the area vacated by the enemy.

Kargil was a huge failure on our part, lost far too many soldiers. Sad part is people still have not learned anything yet and still cry about being friends with Pakistan.
Farooq Moin ex-Chief Editor Pakistan Press International PPI News Agency I was only Pakistani journalist with foreign newsmen who crossed Line of Control LoC in Kargil on 1 July 1999, saw ground reality - A Total Failure of Indian Intelligence - Mujahideen occupied Totulok, Tiger Hills, etc., peaks, mountains, Srinagar to Siachen road for supplies to Indian Army in firing range of Mujahideen who shot down Indian Air Force jets, helicopters.
It is understood that Indian Govt. has passed clear instructions that in no case Army or Air Force will cross LoC. Where as your opponent country Pakistan crossed LoC and made their bunkers on the hills top 10 Kms inside the LoC. Their Army's chief by cunningness occupied our vacant posts. It is also our intelligence failures. If Tashi's sheep not lost than our Army would be in the normal state of security.
Kargil war is an epitome of Shame and incompetence of Indian Army Generals and its border security and intelligence 🤦😭 when junior officers were warning of possible intrusion a year before the actual event these generals were busy moving troops out of LoC to build zoo in Leh, and guess what no general till date faced any trial or court of enquiry and all the blame were placed on Brig Surjit Singh, Brig Davinder singh and Major Manish Bhatnagar who actually were the real heroes warning these generals of action all year long!! Shame on such Army Hierarchy for so incompetence on delivery justice or even writing a true report of lapses by top officials so that it won’t be forgotten
