  • See the effect of a major earthquake in Southern California. The Tera-Shake project uses a multitude of visualizations to interpret simulation output based on the Southern San Andreas Fault.
A video supplement to IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications magazine's "Visual Insights into High-Resolution Earthquake Simulations," by Amit Chourasia, Steve Cutchin, Yifeng Cui, Reagan W. Wish he would have included the magnitude as the video played out to get a sense of how it affects the ground shaking throughout the quake.

From what I just watched, San Diego county will not feel the worst of it but indeed we will still feel something down here regardless. I feel bad for LA county though. Especially Palm Springs. We will have to send assistance to our neighbors up north and work together to the best of our ability to save as many lives as possible. It's too scary to think about but right now all we have to do is be ready for it. Educate everyone on what to do, how to react and just PRAY🙏

Yeah, that's something I've noticed. No one else seems to be mentioning that San Diego will be the place for refuge. It's gonna be crazy.

Massimo Bottura mentioned: "The street moved like a wave" when describing an Earthquake he witnessed, this recording can be found on the Netflix Film "Chef's Table" . This could prove very accurate from these two completely independent sources and about the new found relationship between waves and earthquakes.

All I saw was mountains 20 miles high forming with a gaping gash in the center deeper than the grand canyon. What kind of simulation is that.

So from this simulation, San Diego won't get hit too hard then

Why does every southern San Andreas rupture scenario always place as a Salton Sea ‘unilateral’ epicentre, the fault could brake in two directions (bilateral) with a possible epicentre in Riverside County, not all faults brake in accordance to mathematical principle, even Japan’s 2011 M9.0 Tohoku earthquake ruptured on a curvy section of fault and broke in two directions, it even had three epicentres too, when faults brake over large surface areas, it’s common that they can have more than one epicentre and can even barrel on to neighbouring faults too! 😯

From this Simulation it seems like The Imperial County won't get hit that hard like San Diego

The warnings are almost completely ignored by millions of people in LA. What the Kardashians are doing seems to be occupying their interests. It is very sad that this will be a horrific wake up call for most of them.
