      Food banks in my area are useless. They pay NO ATTENTION to beneficiaries needs. For example, diabetics are given items that include lots of sugar! If you tell them you can't cook because you don't have an oven, they will give you frozen chicken you can't prepare. Just not worth going miles away for their so-called "assistance."

    Milk 4.60 a gallon
    Eggs 2.99 4.50 a dz
    Ground beef lb 3.69 to 5.00 dollars
    Dish soap 5-10 dollars
    Laundry soap 15 to 25 dollars
    Trash bags 15 dollars a box
    Everything has gone up 33% to 200% percent and cutting back on how much is in the package less ounces but higher price tag.
    Gas is 4.00 dollars cheap

      @@sr2291 No, SNAP does not, no one is charged to pay for SNAP Benefits,your weren’t paying attention! SNAP Food Assistance is a Program that provides Food Assistance for the low and fixed income, that is through the Federal Government and, State Governors pay into, which is way the amounts vary by state, they also pay into Medicaid and the TANF cash Assistance Program which is for single mothers and, her kiddos that are under the age of 18, this is temporary till they can get court issued child support! When, they started the cards in the early 2000s, single parents could receive their child support payments registered to their cards, if their attorney does it that way and, that’s why they can use that cash for anything they need to take care of! TANF is also Cash Assistance that immigrants can receive the minute they step on U.S. soil, they are broke when, they come over here and, they aren’t going to give them all that food and, little cash assistance and, then, turn around and, have to pay for it, that makes no sense,what- so- ever! Just like the SSA does A COLA almost every year, so, does the SNAP Program but, they do not administer their COLA out till October! That’s a raise on your SNAP Benefits! Then, come the first of the year when, The Social Security Benefits starts handing out the new COLA Raise for the New Year, you then, lose a majority of the SNAP COLA! Go back and, listen to what he was saying and, do your research! I myself know what, I am talking about, I been disabled close to 30 yrs and, I have never, not once paid into or had a fee taken out of my monthly disability check to pay for my SNAP Benefits and,Neither Has Anyone Else and, you aren’t neither! 9:49 So, you shouldn’t be putting untruthful information in your comments! The DFC/ The Department Of Family And Child Services has never done such a thing and, All of us never give them over half our income and, none of us never gave them permission to dip into our bank accounts to ever be able to take a certain amount of money a month neither, nor does no one give them permission to take over half our money! Again we’re on low and fixed income and, they know we have to use our money to pay our bills, rent and, to take care of our personal needs!

    SNAP benefits are meant to be supplemental.

    • @sonyafox3271
      @sonyafox3271 Месяц назад

      No, one needs you to tell us that but, you wouldn’t say that if you are on fixed income that’s also supposed to be supplemental but, yet, you got to be physically or mentally disabled in order to get all these supplemental benefits and, you for the most part not be able to practically work in order to receive all these benefits! That’s like a lot of people on these channels like to say, SSI is a form of Welfare but, SSI does not even come through the DFC/ The Department Of Family And Child Services, SSI Benefits comes through the Social Security Administration and, it is not a form of Welfare, it’s simply a form of a disability benefit that comes through the SSA Office and, people don’t just get it, they have to prove their case! I never got a disability benefit check from the DFC! People like to assume things that they have no knowledge of, the only type of cash assistance that comes through the DFC is TANF Benefits, which is temporary assistance to single parents who have kiddos under the age 18, once they start receiving court ordered issued child support they no longer receive TANF - Cash Assistance! Which with the having a card that’s one way they can receive that child support! TANF Cash Assistance is also what immigrants also get and, they can get all these benefits that the DFC offers the minute they step on U.S. soil! However, people wonder why immigrants get a ton of money, the government isn’t handing out them a ton, people forget to realize they aren’t actually considered U.S. citizens and, therefore, they come over here to work and, they can work under the table without having to pay taxes, that’s how they have all this money! If you aren’t a U.S. citizen they can not file for any type of Social Security Benefits because, they aren’t Eligible since, they aren’t U.S. Citizens! 9:49

    Food inflation is out of control, just ask the fast food industry where it's over 100%. The $281/month is much higher than the $191/month pre-pandemic, but there was a $95/month premium for awhile on top of the $281 and that would actually increase Food Stamp balances so they wouldn't run out. Food inflation has since kicked in further and the premium is gone. The premium needs to come back at $170/month, or just raise the whole allotment to $15/day as a basic rate for mid-2024, or $450/month, a 60% COLA.

    Yeah, snap benefits are supposed to be supplemental, you're expected to use 30% of your monthly income for food. Between continually rising rent, utilities and gas, plus food inflation there's no 30% of monthly income for food. People are forced to rely solely on the small amount of food stamps for food, which doesn't really buy "meals", people are living on ramen noodles, bologna sandwiches or whatever is available that will stretch farther throughout the month. Then they assume that people on snap are just using it to load up on junk.. in certain situations, yes, I've seen it myself. That's because some people get more per month for certain reasons, and it's absurd! I think most of us prefer healthier , actual meals, over just rice or just ramens! Healthier food is far more expensive and with shrinkflation, it makes things even harder!
    The colas don't even come close to keeping up, by the time they're given they're already behind. One cancels out the other , and they've not passed the proposal for "colas don't count" that would keep that from happening. The whole system is flawed, it doesn't keep up with anything. They need to raise the max allowable income to qualify, if you're a dollar over it you don't get assistance. I believe the amount of subsidized rent should be increased so that the majority of people's monthly checks should not go towards rent alone. They need to make it so if people are on ssdi & such , they should automatically get full Medicaid coverage and the max amount of food stamps each month regardless of income. Obviously those who can not work, and are getting such low fixed amounts each month should not get anything less than that. Food stamps across the board need to be raised like 200% , at least, so people can actually eat healthier food and more than one or maybe 2 "meals" per day! This would solve a lot of health problems, ones they say are from snap beneficiaries spending their food stamps on nothing but junk food. People shouldn't get more based on ethnicity alone, it should be fair, based on need and income levels, for all who need the assistance.

    I had gotten 20 bucks more and with the COLA increase to my SSI in the following January they took 13 of the 20 away so yeah there ya go. I usually have spaghettios and the such alike simply because you can get 4 cans for 5 bucks not always and even that's expensive. A can of Vienna sausages is over a dollar now. VIENNA SAUSAGES . Beanie weenies, another example yes same for price. .
