This is the most interesting interview by far, from a member of KSA band. Tiamiyu is very self-satisfied. That is an important source of happiness, and the man is genuinely happy. May God continue to give him excellent health in longevity.
Baba is loaded with words and ready to explode. The interview was an avenue for him to explain what was on his mind. Kudos to the Producer and Presenter.

More Kudos to you Alhaji Timmy. I wish you are still a lead drummer for King Sunny Ade. Besides you and Tunde alade I have never see any other talented talking drummer for King Sunny Ade again. I really admire you in those days with King Sunny Ade. May God continue to bless you with good health and prosperity. Thank you for the memory.
Greeting to Baba Tiamiyu, I really love the interview, even Baba I adore him for recognizing and giving regards to all Band leaders. May God gives him long and prosperous live, I am a band leader, but I am in Kenya for now, anytime I am in Nigeria. I need to visit him.
Haji Timmy! The greatest Yoruba drummer of his generation. Very intellectually agile. Good interviewer. Now, we hope you'll aloo bring to us Juju Artiste Apostle Idowu Animashun.
Thanks for sharing the full interview. I ensure that I didn't miss any bit of it. Alhaji is a tough person and he never hides his feelings. I recall the day Ariya Night Club was being commissioned and NEPA struck as the band was about to start playing, he drove his Benz 230.4 to Shomolu office and disorganise the whole place and light was restored immediately. I thank God for his life!
This is very good. It is comprehensive, detailed, and informative. Thank you Baba Tiamiyu for the time you spent with King Sunny Ade and the poetic drum saburumo se o logbo ni. The oro to nlo version etc thank you Tiamiyu, thank you to the interviewer for the professional execution.
Baba you taught me talking drum at CCC babalola parish under evangelist Jerry, we met again at ikotun when you were opening your house I love your humility anytime anyday
Ah, the talking drum has a way of bringing people together, doesn't it? It's amazing how your paths crossed again at his house opening. We are glad you enjoyed his humble nature. Kindly susbcribe for similar contents.
Good program. On constructive side, the interview is long enough for at least 2 to 3 short breaks. This program is shedding lights onto many untold issues. Yoruba musicians are like one family who grew up together. Bless them.

I can confirm the Iya Ibeji drumming story. Iya Ibeji used to live at (Aderupoko’s House) no, 100 Agege Motor Road, Mushin! He’s a great Man. May the Almighty Allah continue to bless you.....Amin!

You have done an excellent job bringing Alhaji Timi. He is full of experience and sound memories. Are you able to ask him to compile documentary of his drumming careers?
Ejire, most of these icons deserver part two interview. You need to go to Bob Aladeniyi and Bob Ohiri. It is desirable to quickly upload Mathew Olojede's complete interview. Where is Tunde Alade, the first gangan drummer for KSA? You should also interview, Josy Ajiboye. Continue the good work and I know your future is bright and God will repay you handsomely.
Kola olootu should come and learn how to interview people here, this guy is a professional journalist. Kola will ask question and answer it by himself.
The interviewer did not know what the man was talking about when he talked about the president of a country that visited during Gowon's time..... He was talking about President of Ethiopia then, Haile Selassie (Ras Tafari)
I have to come back to this interview again after 2 years, i think a good number of other band members were not fair to KSA, without doubt he has his shortcomings but they too portrayed him in extreme bad light, thanks to Baba Tiamiyu, Sharafa Bello and Segun Awe that told us the other side of the story that others kept away from the public. You can't work with someone for many years and not get some benefits and you travelled the world over together,we must hear from KSA to balance the stories. They were fetish too.
I remember a certain Muslim cleric insulted baba when he was still fit during Fajr prayer baba landed him a slap though the Muslim clerics were wrong and baba stood his ground
I hope Alhaji will have his own peace afterwards.. Though half truth isn’t enough ! He weighs enormous influence on the KSA old band members no doubt At this point in time, his cockiness and staleness was becoming apparent. Aladokun was brought in; who then added other dynamism ; including faster, racy tempo into the mix . Subsequently, Aladokun ( now in Europe) would sometimes dubbed as the lead the talking drummer.( check albums credits).According to reports and interviews granted by KSA himself in 1984,the band refused to play over money as Alhaji Tiamiu tangentially referenced in this interview though without elaboration. It took much “begging and pleadings buy KSA and the Organizers of the show until the Boys decided perform including “refusing to attend a State banquet dinner in honor of the Band as the Cultural Ambassador representing Africa in a cultural exchange Program”. And while the “Japanese Head of State, amongst other dignitaries have to wait on end until the Boys decided to show up as some of them were “haggardly attired against their agreed dress codes” By the time he led the gang up and the great revolt against Sunny in Japan, KSA had no other recourse other than to disband the entire Band in London en-route to Lagos. KSA insisted that it was a “national disgrace” and added that he felt personally unsafe around people who would acted like that.. throwing National pride into the abyss” !.. Sunny made an apparent reference to late “Alhaji Omowura who encountered his untimely demise through the cold hand of one of his band Boys over money” ALHAJ Tiamiu remains the greatest talent ever to have played the talking drum. Gba bee ! This interview is much awaited and anticipated. It’s rich, in-depth and I’m more than satisfied. I remain his eternal fan. I also give credits to KSA for the exposure given because the King was never afraid to let his Boys shine
@@adeyemibadejo8822 well said sir. Clearly the mutiny in Japan was as regards the band boys wanting more. The rest as they say is history. Only few of the mutineers made it back into the band and KSA bounced back big time. Clearly, KSA lets band boys shine and did not take all the glory. KSA remains a visionary and a true leader of men.

The issues with band leaders and band boys in Nigeria context is that there's no legal contractual agreement between them, and as such, there bound to be money issues always. Can you imagine that band boys are paid as low as 15k-20k per play in modern day and the band leaders go home with hundreds of thousands naira. Hence, the band leaders take all and become so rich while the boys struggle to survive. In Europe and America, instrumentalists are professional and well paid.
I just love this man. His simplicity is just uncommon. Baba ki e pe fun wa ooo
