I can' t believe someone who makes such quality content doesn't have more subscribers or views. You are the only youtube rpg guy who actually shows rpg games I didn' t even know before and I'm interested to try out thanks to you bro! Keep up the good work! The subscribers/fans will come - they have to!
I appreciate the Magical Starsign background music xD I ADORED that game. It was so much fun, and it deserves to be so much more popular than it is. It would do great as a multi-game series.
I LOOOOVED Contact!! It was funny, unique, gameplay was great and the MUSIC.. the music was so good! There are many tracks I still listen to regularly even now. It’s honestly one of my favorite games on the ds.
I loved From The Abyss, sure it was a bit repetitive but it was in a good way. It wasn't too hard but wasn't too easy either. It's the perfect game for someone who wants a straightforward game that they don't have to put all their effort into understanding the complicated story line.
Nice nin shirt brah. I really appreciate when people talk about the DS, especially rpgs for it. It's one of my favorite systems and I like hearing about unknown games for it. Your english is a bit hard to understand sometimes but you got the heart for it. I have a tough time getting into rpgs these days unless its something tactical like Fire Emblem. The battles just really wear on me after a bit in normal rpgs. Can't wait to get the new fire emblem next year. Keep up the good work man! Show me the goods. :)
Solatorobo is super popular, it's not unknown at all. I played it because of how popular it was, and it was okay, but I didn't like it that much. (I never finished it) Everybody else seemed to love it though. From the abyss is the last NDS game I played. It's mediocre and easy, but not too bad. I really liked Master of the Monster Lair when I played it a long time ago, I recommended it to my friends, and sadly, none of them liked it. :( Still, building dungeons is a lot of fun. There aren't many games like that. I heard of My World, My Way because of it, since it's from the same developer, but I never got to play it. Hearing what you said, it doesn't make me want to play it though. lol
-Contact -Solatorobo -From the abyss -Hero's saga laevatein tactics -Away Shuffle Dungeon -Deep Labyrinth -My world, My way -Tao's adventure curse of demon seal -A witch tale -Master of monster lair
Solatorobo is actually pretty easy to pronounce. Note the way I typed it, though; it's not Sola To Robo. As such, it's just pronounced "Sola-toh-robo." As for Tao's Adventure, that gameplay style is very reminiscent of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. As such, while I've not played it, myself, I'm pretty sure someone who's used to Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, or possibly any of the games in the Mystery Dungeon series proper, would definitely be used to that game.
Can this sentient metal object ask a question? This might be a spoiler for others but is there any hidden end, after the game is finished? Thank you in advance.
2 things: - Nintendo doesn't really make shovelware, it's bad third parties flocking to a successful console ( Play Station also have plenty for the same reason). - This is only a guess but Solatorobo is probably just the name in Japanese unchanged, my guess is because "to" in Japanese means "and" so the title would be Sora(or Sola) and robo(robot)... Again, only a guess.
Actually great video dude. I'd just like to mention that the name Sola to Robo, while kinda weird, actually makes sense because it's simply japanese for Robo AND Sola. So yeah, there's that.
Contact is very strange. I played it last year. I have never played Earthbound (since it was not released over here) but i have seen some stuff of it. And i dont really see why would anyone compare those. The story of Contact was probably the strangest part of it. Maybe i missed some stuff but some parts seem to have no connection. Sola to Robo. I love this Game. I am so happy that the Game was released over here and is not that rare or expensive as the US Version. The US Version costs like 10x as much. I played it back when the DS Servers where still online. And its sad that now many cant play all the DLC Stages anymore. Those where some great Extra Content with some nice Story Elements that should have been in the main game. Away Shuffle Dungeon is awesome. It is very unique. It has a nice story and the Gameplay is just perfect for the DS. It was also the last Game i bought from Toys R Us XD Taos Adventure. I have the Game but didnt get to play it yet. It reminds me however a bit of Azure Dreams. Master of the Monster Lair is also a Good Game. But it is just to tempting to build a Dungeon that is a bit to easy. Also it can get repetative since you have to grind sometimes quite a bit. For the other Games. I dont have those yet unfortunatelly. But some day i hope i will^^ I love the DS. I love RPGs. And the DS has so many. I even try to get a Full Set :)
How I wish they made a better sequel to Azure Dreams. That game was more or less perfect but needed perhaps some more to its story which a sequel could remedy.
Whaaaaat? Azure Dreams has a DS sequel?! I don’t care if it’s lame-that’s an instant buy for me. As for Contact, I bought it based off the back of the case. It looked like a Earthbound-style game. I was only slightest disappointed, as the weirdness at the end of the game reaches Earthbound levels.
Azure dreams. -Was- is one of my favorite ps1 games.. i beaten it multiple times - i just loved it I never knew that theres a ripoff version for the ds , so time to check it out lol The drawing part sounds really really lame and i already can imagine the gameflow is very slow. I played this dungeon build game. I searched for dungeon crawler ds games awhile ago and kinda stumbled over it. It was interesting first but after like 2hrs in the game i got bored and ended up cheating my way through it 😂 A talking magic shovel is really a weird thing even for a jrpg, so i couldnt take the story any serious
if you are looking for a copy of solatorobo... unless you are a dedicated collector, dont buy the NTSC version... its expensive, instead import a PAL copy of the game instead... it will save you alot of money, and as for My World My Way... dont buy it, its expensive everywhere and the game isnt really documented very well. instead if you want to play it, emulate it. typically im against emulating but in this case, please do
I tried From the Abyss and it felt rather repetitive. It didn't feel quite as repetitive as Children of Mana, but that may have been because I didn't play it as long. I really haven't felt motivated to pick it back up. ALSO, it's not ironic that different Nintendo DS games overshadow others. I mean, different developers compete and that is to be expected, so it's the opposite of irony.
i would say: Ni no kuni! - discovered at premiere of ni no kuni 2 there was full game(not litle spin off) of 1 part (conversion from ps3) awsome animation and graphic for this system - reason is unknown there is no english version :( but i would play it anyway :D
Yeah, the thing is these videos include only games that were released outside Japan. That's why I didn't include many unknown titles, like the DS version of Ni No Kuni.
Erik.... My phone is messed up and I'm on my girlfriends email. Anyway... I recently started watching slot of your videos. I noticed in one video Lufia 1 was a most hated RPG. And that's fine. Your always talking about this being your own opinion. Also fine. I just wanted to point out that you talked about two gameboy lufias and one of the gameboy Lufia being sequel to Lufia 2. Not the case. Actually Lufia one is the sequel to Lufia 2. So gameboy titles are not. I take it you made a mistake because you didn't finish Lufia 1 because you hated it. Also I would like to inform you there are more than 4 Lufia titles. You left out Lufia for PSP. Other than that love your videos
Thank you, but I'm pretty sure that I knew everything that you just said. Maybe you're confused about what I said? If you watch some more of my videos, you'll see that I was always aware of those facts, despite not having beaten Lufia 1.
Nintendo doesnt do a lot of shovelware, thats a very dumb comment. if anything is third parties making shovelware for nintendo consoles, which is very different.

True. And he gets straight to the good stuff, no filler stuff.
I appreciate the Magical Starsign background music xD I ADORED that game. It was so much fun, and it deserves to be so much more popular than it is. It would do great as a multi-game series.
Really cool list of obscure games, thanks!
awesome stuff man! i highly recommend you play Lux Pain on the DS.
Solatorobo was a very good game with ALOT of extra content and a mini game. And there was more stuff if you went through the 2 parts again.
I LOOOOVED Contact!! It was funny, unique, gameplay was great and the MUSIC.. the music was so good! There are many tracks I still listen to regularly even now. It’s honestly one of my favorite games on the ds.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think that "Away: Shuffle Dungeon" might be partly inspired by the DLC bonus dungeon for Blue Dragon on the Xbox 360.
I think one of the most unknown is also Soma Bringer, i don't know if you already spoke about it but i really liked it
I loved From The Abyss, sure it was a bit repetitive but it was in a good way. It wasn't too hard but wasn't too easy either. It's the perfect game for someone who wants a straightforward game that they don't have to put all their effort into understanding the complicated story line.
Yeah, it was average, I liked it too.
I actually got both master of monster lair on the ds and both iterations of dungeon maker on psp. Love all of them.
I saw an ad of contact in Nintendo power idk why I liked the ad so much I went and got the game and it’s still one of my favorite games.

Well nothing inherently, I'm guessing it's a character's name.
Sola means sky in Japanese
Kartik Kakkar Nop, Sora means sky, only if is a bad translation ( in Japan, there's no "R" through... )
that's sola not sora there's not a r

Yes. It also came out for the PSP. It will be on my part 2 as well. :)
Erick Landon RPG The DS version is better as it uses the stylus
Which is exactly the reason why I hated that version, hahahaha. Sorry =/
Need some more people like him which makes real $hit instead of same $hit like everyone else.

"Sora Torobo" is actually japanese
it means "Sky Thief"
Thief in japanese is dorobo, not torobo. The title is sora to robo, sky and robot.
