My battery light came on yesterday. O’Reilly just tested the alternator and battery and they’re good. I’m going to check out this wire/connector now, thanks!

Thanks. Just saved me a few bucks and a headache. I would start my car and drive with the dash I. Test mode on battery Voltage and it was good. Hold down trip reset before tur jng the key. After turning the key on keep holding until test. Cycle through various tests until getting to battery.

Dude!!! You're a fucking god send!! I don't know how tf you figured this out. But I disconnected my cable, and the pins inside the plug were corroded right off and it was wet.
After disconnecting it. No more light.

Wow, I had my alternator and battery changed, and the light still on took the car to ford dealership for diagnostic spent anothe $190. on that, they told me it's the shutter grill. Good thing I can't afford it yet. Now I'm going to see if its the connector. Thank you. I have spent so much already. Hopefully this video is the answer to my problem. Thank you again

Thanks for this video. I just bought a 2013 focus and the battery light randomly came on twice while driving it. Alternator and battery were fine. Found this video in a search. Now I know what to do if it does it again. I had no idea it had little motorized flaps behind the grill. The sh@t they come up with ! sheesh. Thanks again!

I'm going to try this tomorrow. I replaced my alternator and battery and my battery light came back on. I'm not great at working on cars so its hurting my wallet bad! but I'm going to try this and I really hope it works!

I would suggest if it's getting wet to waterproof it and hook it back up if you want it to still work.
Does the food focus have a battery voltage reading on the display screen? I can't find it. Mine is a 2017 though
I have an issue on a ford focus 2016 with TMPS, when i go to retrain the sensors, i do the steps and the car honk and show on display to train left front sensor but when i go to let out the air from the tire, almost I took out all off the air and still didn't honk again, to move to the next tire, i tried 3 times and nothing, can you say what can i do ? Hello I had a bran new battery fitted on mine but it keeps going dead but battery light intermittent it's not all the time mainly on long journeys would this be the case great vid mate

I replaced the alternator, and battery light was still on. Unplugged the grill shutter plug and it was soaked in water. After this the battery light hasn’t come back.

Is it normal for the voltage to be between 12-14 volts? I saw that the charging systems on these cars are “smart” and can fluctuate

Hey man I have a 1980 Toyota hilux that makes a loud noise when deceleration but if I stay on the gas it goes away but if I’m under 5mph it’ll lock up
most older vehicles valves need to be adjusted from time to time ... that might be your issue..but not sure

Did you check the sensor at the bottom? The one from the video? Also did you reset the battery when it was replaced?

I have this issue but the battery light comes on intermittently. Switching the engine off and back on normally sorted it. Other day though it was on constantly and eventually lost all power to car. Left for 5 mins and managed to start the car again, no light. Had local garage check car and alternator/battery all good. Do you think unplugging this cable could resolve issue, or is it just for a constant battery light?

thank you for the video and i need your experience here... i have same car (2012 focus 1.6 Tİ-VCT powershift transmission and almost 75k miles) and i also have a battery warning light on and off occasionally... i am driving my car with the test mode on and i am tracking my batteries voltage value past a few weeks . The engine starts around 12,8 (sudden drop and rise during ignition) and rises up to 14,5 V in seconds... But after some miles it starts to decrease 0,1 by 0,1... on the highway it stays on around 13,3 V but in traffic jam it decreases a lot till 13,0 V... i get battery warning light last night and the value was 11,6 V.... after couple of miles voltage increased suddenly to 14,1 V again... now i would like to ask that do i have to renew my alternator or my 1 year old battery... and one important thing is here there was no shudder problem with my transmission when the battery voltage value more than 14,3 volts... smooth transmission and my car starts obvious shuddering when it decreases 13,6 volts... please give your feedbacks and thanks in advance...
so your thinking the voltage drop is causing your transmission issues?
@@FalconsGarage yes i think it may cause that problem... mechanics are suggesting to renew clutch, tcm or other mechanical parts but i am brainstorming that if i have problems with some wearable parts then it should shudder everytime (unless if there is no relation with thermal load of mechanical parts)... i am still tracking and i believe there is a relation with charging and shifting systems...
@@meteevrenberktas6988 could it be related “maybe”. But this cars are also known to have ALLOT of clutch issues. I once had for replaced 4 clutches and one tcm under warranty in only 2 years. And my gear sputtering was not consistent

hello i have a similar problem i changed the alternator but the battery is still on my dashboard and due to non-recharging my power steering came on you have any advice on how to fix it
so .. is it till not charging? or is it charging BUT the light is still on?

I was on diagnostics today but they told me that the problem would probably be somewhere in the connection but I don't know what to look for
that might be it .. check that the output of the alternator is whats suppose be .. and check from there on were you are loosing the power.
