@gregberry9122 That's what happens when you don't diagnose it correctly the first time. You know the customer walked away with a bad taste in their mouth.
I just recently replaced the Alternator and battery on my 2002 Escalade AWD 6.0, and now when I accelerate hard or spiritedly the volts drop to almost 8 and the battery light comes on for a brief second then disappears, but then I drive casually id doesn't happen. I had the new alternator tested too its reads 13.7 to 14.2 volts while the truck is on and my battery stays fully charged. So not sure why I'm getting low volt readings when I drive hard only.
thanks for the video. I changed my battery and alternator in honda accord, battery light stays on at idle but when turning headlight or ac on then battery light goes off. reving up engine over 2000 rpm makes battery light on off too. any idea what could be the cause? any help appreciated very much. many thanks
@lmauriceg92 It's the alternator. the regulator in the alternator is malfunctioning. connect a multimeter reading dc volt to your battery and while the engine is running it should reading about 14 volt with headlights on. then turn headlights off and if it starts dropping the voltage gradually then your regular in the alternator is not doing its job. my advice is that buy original honda alternator as the aftermarket ones use mostly Chinese regulators in the alternator and your battery will stay on even with a new alternator.
@lmauriceg92 also check the serpentine( auxiliary) belt tensioner and alternator clutch pulley before changing the alternator as that could contribute to it but it's a small chance that would be the issue
Had rough starts. Changed Batttery so that’s good, alternator is good, just replaced battery sensor , now the charge light is on, all the readings are good.. any suggestions what I should do next ??
Yessssss 😂 jerks ok im a woman not much of a mechanic I followed every wire al the way to my alternator bammmmmm found my alternator PIGTAIL was crack and fall apart had 20 men look at my car none could find the problem but yet charged me for there time ughhhh 😂 one dang plastic peace that holds the live wire from battery to alternator how did they miss this? Pigtail is 9 dam bucks unreal i hope this helps i got a new alternator now starter new battery well i didnt need any of them the man who fixed my car KNEW it was the pigtail but didn't want to repair it and save face oh well poor guy lost a finger trying to steal parts from the body shop next to his! 😮😮 Is that karma or just bad luck! Remember people karma is real 😂 i do feel bad for the man he is under paid and poor his boss is a complete jerk
i have a 2005 c lass 180 Mercedes just changed alternator and battery and i now have red warning lights on Mercedes screen warning about the battery or alternator any ideas ty mike
I have a 16 Odyessy, changed battery and alternator. Everything works great for 10 minutes then it stops charging. dash says check battery sensor so I replaced that also but no change. Charges for 10 minutes then stops charging, battery light comes on dash as soon as the altanator stops charging. any ideas?
Is there a part similar to this on domestic cars? I have a 2000 Buick Park Ave. The alternator stopped charging while driving, battery got so low after a while everything shut down. I changed the alternator and new battery is good..the alternator is charging but the battery light is still on.
Hi can this sensor fail intermittently and not cause a code? Can it also cause alternator output be lower than normal?Ive been having issues where I get engine surge my headlights are dimmer and sometimes flicker and engine seems like is low on power. Thanks
Yes, it can fail intermittently and not set a code. It can cause alternator output to be lower than normal. I would check to make sure all connections between alternator an battery are tight and free of corrosion. Make sure to disconnect the negative cable of the battery before tightening any connections or attempting to remove corrosion. You can do some serious damage if you leave your battery connected. After you're done cleaning off corrosion and tightening connections, reconnect negative battery cable, turn car on and do voltage drop tests on the positive and negative sides of alternator and battery circuit.
Wait, he said that “we” replaced the battery and alternator and that didn’t fix the problem, and then replaced the sensor which fixed the issue. Why did he put a video up about what not to do? He actually cost the poor car owner hundreds and hundreds of extra dollars by not troubleshooting the issue correctly. Maybe it’s intended to show the importance of troubleshooting issues before blindly replacing parts.

Parts cannon fail. You need an alternator.........No you need a battery.........Oh it was just a sensor..........That'll be $1,200 for a $110 repair.

@@PL-fc6hm What year is your car and why did you replace the battery and alternator?
Don't know if this helps but since I installed battery sensor got it online computer won't read it so battery light always on but works normal

is your car's engine losing power when it happens? or is it just the light that comes one and everything is still normally functioning?

I am having same issue with 03 honda civic si smh
Did you ever figure it out? I'm having same issue

Do I understand it correctly that you replaced the alternator and the battery, when actually it was the sensor issue?
It did fix the charging system problem initially, but the guest returned about 6 months later with a failed battery sensor
I have changed the radiator, hoses, front suspension on both sides, alternator, ecm, rear shocks, air conditioner itlp😢 is over heating again
Try your fuses 80***amp
Battery light is on in my 2011 Toyota Highlander but the alternator is good and just put a new battery in. Anyone know what the issue is?
Am getting the same thing in my toyota voxy 2011 don't know whats the problem 😞
@@ryemeevans4162 it was the alternator in my car. I put a new one in it and works like a charm now.

He replaced those 6 months BEFORE the battery sensor went bad
