If you're thinking of getting your ears pierced this is your sign to get it done, trust me it doesn't hurt as much as you think it does it goes by really fast and pain is temporary.
1.- "I don't pierce the tongue... I feel it's very negative in the mouth". As a soon to be dentist: mad respect dude. Piercing your tongue is dooming yourself to a loooot of dental and oral problems, not even taking into account some possible serious heart issues. 2.- "I'm not an artist". More respect. I wish I had done my ear piercings with him :(
mirrormimi I've had my tongue pierced since I was 18 I'm 26 now. I have incredible oral health according to my dentist. They've never made any mention about my piercing hurting my teeth. It's the crazy people who play with the piercing against their teeth that are the problem. My husband though? Drinks soda all day every day he comes home bleeding and near tears because he's wrecking his teeth and gums. His normal cleanings take like 2 hours whereas mine take at most 20 minutes.
Endocarditis! It's the infection of the inner lining of the heart. The mouth is dirty, diiiirty thing lol, when you pierce a tongue you introduce bacteria directly into the bloodstream via some relatively large blood vessels inside it. It's a lot more common in people with artificial valves or other corrective surgeries, but people with no heart problems are at risk too (albeit lower). Generally people with previous heart surgeries know that they have to be more careful, for example, whenever I treat someone I know has an artificial valve (or other heart conditions) I have to do a referral to their cardiologist first, but not all patients know the risks. A good piercer will ask clients for any medical problems, but not everyone is a responsible piercer, not all people know clearly their medical problems, even when taking premeds the risk is there, and sometimes you don't even need to have a previous heart problem to have a serious infection.
I can't believe that an eight year old went into his studio and asked for a navel piercing there's no way she would be able to take care of it properly. Just wait till you're older trust me it's worth it I love this guy so much he's such a bad ass wish I could go and get pierced by him.
I have my rook pierced and I absolutely love it! I was very hesitant to get one at first considering I have never had a cartilage piercing before, but I’m so glad I did it. I am very pleased with the healing process, I don’t believe it’s completely healed yet, but it’s been 6 months and it doesn’t hurt at all. The good thing about this piercing is that it will not get caught in your hair and you don’t have to worry about your earbud irritating it because it doesn’t touch it. Yes the piercing hurt, but the end result is worth it. If you really want a rook piercing, go for it!
NelleBelle meh, but the tattoo fades away over time. And the holes in your ears can also close. Oof don’t know why I said this but oh well, bored I guess
I think Body Electric is extremely professional and talented throughout! I got my industrial pierced there last year and the staff were so welcoming and professional. The piercing was practically painless and it healed up really well! I would recommend body electric to anyone who wants a piercing, they did an amazing job! All of BKT’s work looks amazing as well!
My conch piercing is my favorite ear piercing. Definitely the most painful out of all my piercings and the longest healing. It took two full years to heal completely.
Katherin Cisneros unfortunately not! I have gauged lobes and second lobe piercings, the conch, and an upper cartilage piercing. I want those ones as well though! With ear piercings I tell people to just go for it, you can just take them out if you don't like them.
Katherin Cisneros my conch was a little bit of an adjustment because you can't really sleep on it for a while. It's good to go now! I'd say the pain was a 7 out of 10, nothing too bad but it was pretty uncomfortable. Hope that helps a little!
Katherin Cisneros I have a double helix that I got in December. I think the fact that I got both done together affected the healing period. My friend got one done and was fine but my two still hurt today when I change jewelry. Definitely use an airplane pillow to help sleep! It doesn’t put pressure on the piercing. I also have a conch but for me, it didn’t hurt at all! Even when I first got it done it was barely a pinch. I got it done in May and I’ve been fine. I guess I’m just an anomaly because everyone swears it’s their worst piercing pain and healing wise. Don’t hesitate to ask more questions
Oh man, I got my daith pierced back in January 2017 and it still on its healing journey. It gets irritated and inflamed if I sleep on it, or touch it, but you should get one--the healing process is definitely worth it for such a beautiful piercing! :)
I love this. My piercer uses the same techniques and care directions. She's amazing and artistically mapped out my ears. Apparently, I have a unique ear shape. I let her play and have freedom. She did my Daith, conch, and helix recently. Love my piercer as much as I love my tattoo artist! I'm a hairstylist/makeup artist and appreciate the art that goes into it. I love when clients let me suggest what's best. Same goes for my piercer and tattoo artist!
one of the great mysteries of RUclips is Refinery29 refusing to get rid of the intense sound effects even though all the comments on videos with them are begging for them to be removed 😂
I and many friends have been pierced by Brian and he is a top notch professional dude that actually puts you as ease. Everyone should get pierced by him.
Though I could not watch the actual puncture of the skin the sound effects was effective enough to give me full body chills. Lol. I pierced my own cartilage and it hurt like hell but 11 years later I still have it and love it.
Aw, her ear is beautiful! They all complement her style perfectly :) I’d love to have a jewellery consultation. I have 14 ear piercings but I’m not in love with how they look. Great video Refinery. Watching the piercings in this video was actually scarier than getting my own!
Love the idea of a constellation piercing. Have to have something now to complement my daith piercing. Also, those close ups and sound effects were cool. Telling it like it is.
I need Brian in my life....... He takes his artistry very seriously. He even does earring placement makeovers. He also drops poetry; "A TATTOO IS A MARRIAGE....A PIERCING IS A MISTRESS." No one on here can say that their piercer offers all that on top of general piercing services..... I feel like booking a flight from Miami to wherever Brian is to get my piercings done in one day.
I got a rook piercing on my right ear, early this year & I love it! It barely hurt compared to my helix piercing that hurt quite a bit after. It looks amazing. Can't wait to get a conch piercing soon :)
Ive been addicted to ear piercing, i always look and searching for a nice piercings and from where i can get ones. Got subscribed after watching this 😍
Ooh! Conch as one of her three first cartilage piercings... mad props! I've always wanted a conch but was always scared because it was on the thicker part of cartilage; and it'd be difficult to listen to music using earphones (I'm personally not a fan of headphones because they hurt my head). So for now, I've settled for multiple helixes until I'm brave enough to get my conch done ;;;;
IDK if you got your conch but if you still haven't go for it! I wear earbuds almost all day and they were never once a problem with my conch just as long as you don't get it pierced too low you should be fine and the pain is not as bad as you would thinkn
I got my rook done in 2014, not very painful and super cute with an opal stone on the top. Also got my daith done, slightly more painful. I've had my tongue pierced for 2 years now and surprisingly its my most discreet piercing, most people never notice it. The only downside to cartilage ear piercings is that they take a long time to heal.
I heavily agree with being decorated. I have 13 piercings total and people ask why I have so many, and I just say it’s bc I like being decorated. I’m still debating on getting more piercings
0:02 Brian: People always asking me if this gonna hurt or what it feels like. And you know I tell them "shhh Me: Its macro beauty, huh😐. Brian: its pain." Me: oh😯
I really want a second earlobe piercing (I’m 12) and ppl at my school already have cartilage earrings and stuff, but I have Asian parents so I probably will have to wait a long time ;-;
haha, I was in your exact same boat. mom wouldn't let me get second lobe piercings, so i decided to be rebellious and took out my lobe piercings. waited until I was 19 to get piercings. over the span of a year, I decided to get my lobes, a daith, tragus and a double conch. the wait is worth it and it'll go by so fast!
I just got my second rook piercing yesterday and I can tell you it does NOT make those noises! I think it CAN for like daith piercings but I've gotten 2 rooks and an industrial as far as cartilage piercings and I never heard anything like that. Side note - my first rook was the least painful and easiest piercing I've had to heal. Second rook done 5-6 months later it hurt a bit more getting it done but it's 7am the following day after getting it done at 9am and isn't sore or anything as of now. Totally recommend rook piercings!
I got my rook done three days ago, and it is already by far my easiest piercing! It barely hurt, and there was no soreness afterwards (I’m not even exaggerating, while watching game of thrones that night, I forgot it was even there; wasn’t distracting at all!). Meanwhile, I also got my helix jewellery changed while I was at the piercing parlour, and those were more sore than my rook, despite being fully healed 😂 it’s crazy how different everyone’s body will react to the same thing 😄 Edit: am I the only one who doesn’t mind (re: likes) the sound effects ?
I know have my conch (r) and my daith (l) done, I would never think of putting a piercing anywhere other than in my ear since I think it's just the best look
Honestly he’s my idol I recently looked into TheLegitCreep (an Australian body piercer) and I felt a spark for not only getting piercings, but I think I want to be a body piercer, I’m just now starting my ear stretching journey and I’m getting my septum pierced in 6 days. And I feel happier than I’ve ever felt He gives me so much inspiration it just makes me feel so amazing
I have my conch pierced on both sides (done on the same day both with a 12 gauge needle) and the sound effects for that made me feel like peeling off my own skin.
I have two cartilage piercings, & whoever heard that you can’t sleep on them is probably lying to you bc I sleep on them every night. The second one only hurts bc I got it done a couple weeks ago, so basically meaning don’t sleep on them as soon as you get a piercing it’s going to hurt. I know from experience, but as soon as they heal or you feel comfortable enough to sleep on them, do so.

I just got my belly button pierced and you’re right, it’s so worth it. Pain is temporary but the beauty is forever
@@ashaskew3042 my belly button piercing didn’t hurt at all for me 😭😭 i got my nose pierced 2 days ago that wasn’t really painful more uncomfortable
fr my cartilage was painless, as was my nose piercing.
Freaking love that guy.
Miss Sparkle yo me too
Yeah he’s really cool
those crunchy sounds are gross like sis we didn’t come here for asmr
True
i like them😳
IT MAKE ME SOOOO UNEASY 😭😭
RIGHT! All of their piercing videos are VERY interesting, but the sound effects are truly unnecessary and make me cringe every time.
Were the sound effects really necessary? I think not.
Detox Edwards yeah kinda scared me
ikr they made me nauseous
i’ve got several piercings and even i cringed so hard
Were the sound effects really necessary? I think yes.

The sound affects make me squirm 😫but I'm early yay😄
+samiraomer Thanks for being here!!
I didn’t see the “but I’m early” and I’m like what a weird response
Samira Omer me too lol 😂 I was oooohhhh god 😨😨😆
Yes that sound makes me cringe
I thought the same thing the whole time
i love the last part where he says everybody has a different style and anatomy, it just shows how passionate he is with what he's doing
I never understood why the editors at refinery29 put those super unnecessary squishing and fleshy sound effects. Like it dosen't make any sense.
Yea, it made the piercing scarier than it is.
That’s how it sounds when you get a piercing 😆 it’s super gross!
@@nbkgirlMikki no, it's not, I have 2 piercings and u can't hear any sounds
Ikr the sound effects made it seem more painful than the piercing itself
It's clearly a sound effect but it recalls the sound that you hear sometimes when you get pierced in the cartilage.

Those piercing sounds were awful😣
It’s not as bad as it looks/sounds.
The sounds are 100% making it seem worse, just got my rook done and I literally felt it less than I feel flu shots. I barely felt it, if at all.
I literally squealed in disgust after I heard them
I absolutely heard the crunch of my industrial piercing. Still gives me the creeps to think about it, but I love it!
The sound effects 🤮 I’m sure it didn’t sound like that when I got my ear pierced

The reason we hear is because of hair. Its extremely important and the ear should be left to allow it to hear. All for getting piercings tho.
