Great project, well documented and explained. Really enjoyed watching your approach to custom coil winding. Look forward to more from your channel. me too
I'm guessing mounting the "mole" directly on top of the solenoid is a bad idea. Is this purely because it would require a stronger solenoid or is it also a safety mechanism against damage and/or direct shock ? ? ? I'm wondering how much it would be to make one for my cat and how I could have it run through a 2 - 5 min random sequence at the press of a button or motion sensor. Would you be interested in making a video on such a project ? A pet centered whack a mole game that activates when the pet approaches it and carries out a randomized sequence so it doesn't bore them the third or fourth time it's been activated and it's not ON all the time to eat up power and equally force disinterest. Personally, if I had the resources/time I would take it further I would probably add a biscuit/treat dispenser at the side so when the time has run down whether the cat has hit the moles or not it dispenses a few biscuits from a small rotary dispenser much like gumballs from a gumball dispenser.
Absolutely fantastic project! Thanks for sharing. Now i would like to build this game for my two little sons. But when i try to compile the code with Arduino IDE, I get a lot of error messages. How can I fix it?
This is awsome! Excellent work. I can't believe you have so few view counts with such a great video. This needs to be posted on Hackaday! I'll drop a word on their tip line.
I had 26awg wire at the time, so all my calculations were based on that....there are alot of factors that goes into choosing the right wire size and turns count, supply voltage and current, total resistance of the coil, how much power you want the solenoid to have, heat generated and the type of 3d printing filament used....all this informed my recommendation of 26awg and 1500 turns...alternatively you could consider off the shelve solenoids, US $1.58 | Dc 6V 12V 24V magnetic solenoid push&pull open frame electromagnet TAU-0530T stroke 10mm keeping Force 700g a.aliexpress.com/_mNhQpYT they come in different flavors...if you have any other questions, let me know, I'll be happy to help.
@@AhmsvilleLabs if i were to make a whack a mole would it be possible to make it to where there can be points in time that if you were to hit them you would lose points or something along the lines of that? example: whacking ghosts but if they have their eyes glowing blue and hit them you lose points

Thank a lot, i look forward to putting out more projects.

This is absolutely fantastic and informative. Thank you so much for making this videp and providing your code.
You are amazing sir! That was a great tutorial.
Hi, for L298N, how can I connect 5V?

hi, can you make a video with linked files for the coil winder? It would be nice not to have to do this by hand! much appreciated!
Very impressive 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Awesome approach!!
Do you know how much lifting power your DIY solenoids have?
Great project, thank you.
Is it possible to make with 5 moles?
I don't see why not...
Another question: how do you come up with 26awg and 1500turns? Thank you.

@@AhmsvilleLabs thank you 👍🏻👍🏻

"Not so difficult to make" 😂
