Thanks man!! This is how I made it in a Nissan N16 from 2002 (Almera II) step 1.) make sure that all windows and doors are closed (not locked) In my case, If there were locked doors it won't work, hazzard lights won't blink. step 2.) insert ignition key and turn from the off position to on position (do not crank engine) 6 times within 10 seconds. your key should be in the off position, when you have finished this procedure the hazard warning lights will flash twice to indicate that car is in programming mode. step 3.) REMOVE the ignition key, press and hold the "UNLOCK" button, whilst still pressing the unlock button, press the "LOCK" button 3 times, then release the "UNLOCK" button and release the lock button. You will see the "FLASH ONCE" from the hazard warning lights, if not try step 3 again slowly! notice*** if you have another fob to program then just follow step 3 only!!!... you can have upto 4 fobs programmed. Step 4.) re-insert your ignition key and turn to the "ON" posistion, hazards should flash twice to represent programming finshed etc. Step 5.) CHECK that your fob/s unlock and lock the doors etc Thats it!

@@TheCarKeyMan Great vid, and am glad if this adds a little footnote for viewers who find their Almera ''expects'' the 6 on-offs a bit quicker to trigger lock-unlock programming mode. [ That was definitely the case here anyway :-) ]
@ The Car Key Man will this work on an aftermarket complete key with chip for a Nissan Note 2007 model. And if it works will both the central locking and engine starting works? Thanks for such a great video
Always check key fob batteries, even if 'new'. I just want to add this to help anyone else with a similar problem. I put a new battery in both of my fobs after problems locking or unlocking my car. The new batteries' voltage were 3.4V and 3.1V (the latter lower because I had used it with problems for 3 weeks). The symptom was the car would unlock but not respond to the lock command again for a few minutes. That's why I tried new batteries (two months since purchase, stored in a cool place, well within date, unused). But even with 3.4V (afaik the correct voltage for a new battery, pretty much) these batteries had some sort of fault that upset the fobs. It wasn't until I bought another brand of new lithium batteries that the fobs behaved again and locked and unlocked each time with no failures. I emphasise that the 'new' but faulty pack is a better known brand than the one from the pack that now works ok. So, even if using a multipack of new batteries of 3.4V, if the problem persists just try a different brand of lithium button cells before spending money on new parts. It's worth a try or a small monetary loss if it doesn't fix it. It worked for me
Thanks for this. Yes we see so many problems from 'new' batteries and even more from cheap, unbranded batteries. Thanks for watching and helping everyone ;)
My car is a Qashqai 2010 model, I have only 1 key that didn't work for the locking system at all.. I try your way many times but didn't work..is not battery issue..what can I do?
Hi Steve, I turn the ignition on and off 6 times, the lights flash, pressing the unlock button and the lock button three ti but lights do flash, what am I doing wrong? Nissan almera 55 plate. Kind regards Mark
Hi, Question! Battery went dead, charged it up no problem there, iv 2 sets of keys but none will lock or unlock the car and that's the only problem I have, they both work fine when starting the car just not able to lock it!!? Any solutions Thank you 👍
Hi Gavin, well a second hand fob will programme fine with the buttons, but there is also a chip in the key that needs matching to the car so that the car starts
Car key man youve helped me before. Just bought primera 2007. Has 2 keys. Both will start the engine but neither will lock the car. Guy replaced the battery. But even the emergency manual lock on passenger door only locks that door. Am I in trouble?
Ok Great. this is for the fob, but is there a manual method for programming a new key+transponder? i think using 2 existing keys and pressing the break/ accelerater in some comb?? any help and advice thanks ;-)
Hi Graham. For all UK vehicles the transponder chip has to be coded using diagnostics. The brake /accelerator method is only used in old Toyota and Lexus cars, sorry
Hi. Any new key on a Nissan needs to be coded in with a computer before it will start the car. The method shown is just so you can programme the door locking buttons.
Hi Car Key Man, does your knowledge extend to a Nissan Qashqai +2 2009 model? It has the NATS security system. One of the keyfobs stopped working, I assumed it was the battery but didn't bother replacing it for a month, now replaced but not working. I've tried this method you described but it didn't work. Any advice appreciated. Thanks!
Hello. Ok, so this is a different car altogether. With the Qashqai, the buttons are programmed as soon as the chip is programmed. There is not any separate method to programme the buttons. This means that if the buttons just stop working, it is either that the key is faulty, or the new battery is poor quality, or upside down.
@@TheCarKeyMan Ha! That's what I like, people like you! So many websites, so much conflicting information, and straight away you have the answer! Thank you so much Sir! Have a great day!
Hello mate. Will this effect the immobiliser in any way? I just have 1 key with red dot on top which I use to manually lock unlock and start the car. Remote fob is broken beyond repair. Was thinking of buying a new fob off ebay and program it to lock unlock and hang it with current key in the keyring. Car is 2001 almera with 2 rubber buttons round fob.
Long shot but I'll ask anyways 🙃 got the same key for my 2006 350z. I've tried every video to program the key and nothing. I've also changed the battery in the fob and still nothing. I don't even get indicators or headlights to flash with any process. Car starts with the key but central locking doesn't. 🥲 Can you help or have any ideas? Thank you in advance 🙂
Hi, I've tried on my Nissan Qashqai 2007 and followed your steps. There was no flash when I was doing ignitation 6 times, but I still followed the steps and now the other key can only close the car but not open...LOL. Any thoughts? Thanks
Hi, on a UK Qashqai, this method will not work. The key buttons are coded automatically when chip programming is done. I don't this this method has done anything to the key, sorry
Thanks. It is not a UK Qashqai and got exactly the same key as Almera 2006. Battery was gone so we changed it, that's why we need to program it again. Wouldn't work the method with the same parameters neither?
Hello Mr Key Man.I have a nissan Qashqai 2009.The remote stopped working.I changed the batteries in t both original remotes(i thought that's the problem.Still not working, but the car takes the signal from the remote if i keep pushing both buttons at same time (3 flashes & 1 flash hazard lights)I cpoied the method as in this video and i also tried just to push in & out 6 times & more the key in the ignition (i didn't turn it) unfortunately didn't work both way, either hazard lights didn't flash during the process.I am still opening & close with the central lock button. Please help me with some advises, what else i can try.Thank you!
Hi. Would this work for a Nissan Note 2011? It looks like a similar key being used. If not, is there a sequence for to re-programme the fob of a Nissan Note 2011 (petrol, 1.4L, N-Tec)?
Thanks for the reply. I purchased a spare original Nissan key and a new key blade. So with the Nissan Note, is it not possible to sync the fob central locking without re-coding the immobiliser chip? (I have purchased a separate transponder chip from an auto locksmith, who added it to my key fob case).
Ok, so with your vehicle, there is not a manual proceedure to code in teh remote. When the immobiiser chip is programmed, the buttons will just automatically work.
What if the second key can't start the car (needs transponder programming as well), would you then use the fully working key in the very last step to turn on the ignition to stop the coding process?
@@TheCarKeyMan Many thanks for your reply. What if I just wanted to program the remote and leave out the transponder, would I still have to take the new key to be coded with a computer? Could I not use this method to just program the remote locking/unlocking on the new key and continue to use the original key to start the engine?
I have an 05 almera tino but only have 1 key. If the battery goes flat in the fob do I need to do this? or can I just change the battery and have no issues?
Hi Barry. We see both cases. We regularly change the battery on a working remote and do not need. Likewise, often a new owner will bring a car into us and the remote isnt working. When we put a new one in, it works automatically without coding in. Other times, the battery is good and the car just forgets the key, so we need to code it in. I don't think there is a hard rule. The coding back in is very straight forward.
Worked but i had directly had to use the faulty key instead of first the good key. press the unlock button and press 3 times the lock button while holding the unlock button
Hi, the K12 Mira is a different car altogether. On the K11 and other older Nissan cars, the transponder function is separate to the remote central and this will work. However the K12 car was one of the first to go over to a combined chip. This means that when the key is programmed, the buttons will automatically work, there isn't a trick to programme in the buttons. Has it ever worked?
@@TheCarKeyMan Thanks for the quick reply. The key has worked before and still unlocks and locks the car. I have a red car with a key symbol flashing now and my car is temperamental with starting (this was never the case before the warning light ). I have changed the battery in the key but no change. Many thanks in advance.
Ok, so changing the key battery will not help you. Inside the key is a green circuit board that has a chip built into it. This chip is detected by the car before it will start. This has nothing to do with the buttons on the key. So either the chip is becoming unreliable, which happens, or there is a problem with the car
Tried this and it's not working. But I do now have a flashing warning on the dash - spanner symbol while the engine is off. Possible alarm system malfunction?
just done my 2005 terrano 2 and it took about 4 attempts to get it right but got there in the end, also i only have 1 key and when i changed the battery in the key it wouldnt open. maybe try pushing the buttons faster before the indicators flash twice?
Hi Can you help I have a 2012 Qashqai and the key needs reprogramming, I have changed the battery but it won’t now work, it is an original key and worked before Thanks
Hi on my Nissan almera 2006 1,8 guy washed my car maybe he pressed something wrong. Normally when you unlock you press once and only the driver side will open then when pressed again all doors open including boot. But now if pressed once to open all doors and boot opens. Please help
Hi Stevie, no this won't work with a Qashqai. The buttons are automatically programmed whan the chip is coded in. So I would guess there is an issue with the key itself. Hope this helps
I got a single key, and the remote doesn't work. When I insert it into the ignition and remove for 6 times, lights flash. Central locking is working. I replaced the battery, no luck. Is there any luck for me to get it fixed?
Hello Chaturanga, if the lights flash 6 times you are doing it correctly. If the car then does not detect your key, maybe there is a problem with the key?
Yes, I tried. When I do it six times, lights doesn’t blink, but driver panel make a double tick sound. If the error is on the key, then I can get a replacement key and get it program. I just noticed when I use the drivers manual lock, central locking system locks all keys. Once I use the switch in the drivers door(with window sign) it lock all doors except drivers, but unlocks all at once. So little confused if this error is on the locking switch or on the control unit of the remote. 🤔
Hello Louise, no sorry. On a Qashqai the keys automatically work when the keys are coded. Have you had any trouble with the keys getting stuck in the lock?
Hi, so your car is different. The buttons are coded at the same time as the transponder chip. So when the key is programmed with diagnostics, the buttons will automatically work

Hi, Question! Battery went dead, charged it up no problem there, iv 2 sets of keys but none will lock or unlock the car and that's the only problem I have, they both work fine when starting the car just not able to lock it!!? Any solutions
Thank you 👍
Hi David, have you tried to programme them back in using this video? What car is it?
Hi, yes I did what u done on ur video but I don't have a working (locking key) like u have in the video!
I have a 2007 Nissan Almera.
does this key model work with almera classic b10? the model is the same only without trunk button
Hi, I'm not sure to be fair, have you tried it?
Brilliant, thank you very much.
You're very welcome, really pleased it helped you :)
Does this work with second hand fobs or only new?
Hi Gavin, well a second hand fob will programme fine with the buttons, but there is also a chip in the key that needs matching to the car so that the car starts
Thanks, you made my day 👍👍👍👍
That's great!
The Car Key Man Hi my fob will not operate the central locking (both keys) can you help please.
And the transponder chip, does that also program at the same time
Hi Len, no this needs to be coded with software
Car key man youve helped me before. Just bought primera 2007. Has 2 keys. Both will start the engine but neither will lock the car. Guy replaced the battery. But even the emergency manual lock on passenger door only locks that door. Am I in trouble?
Hi again, ok, so have you tried to programme them back in?
Ok Great. this is for the fob, but is there a manual method for programming a new key+transponder? i think using 2 existing keys and pressing the break/ accelerater in some comb?? any help and advice thanks ;-)
Hi Graham. For all UK vehicles the transponder chip has to be coded using diagnostics. The brake /accelerator method is only used in old Toyota and Lexus cars, sorry
Thank you, this worked on my 2005 Almera and has fixed my issue. Much appreciated
Thanks for the info Mitchell :)
Mitchell Taylor hey :) can i start then the car? With the new key? Or only open and close?
@@malakafriend Should be able to as long as the key is correct
Hi. Any new key on a Nissan needs to be coded in with a computer before it will start the car. The method shown is just so you can programme the door locking buttons.
What if none of the keys work???....I also have disconecte alarm how to fix plz help me
Worked great on my Nissan 350z
Thanks
Thanks for letting everyone know :)
@@TheCarKeyMan - will this work on a 2003 Fairlady z?
Brilliant! I had only one key and it's working now. Thanks!
That's great news :)
Amazing worked on my 350! Thank you so much
That's great Jake, thanks for letting everyone know :)
I had an issue here. Previously there was a sound when pressing lock/unlock. Now it is gone. How to enable it back?
Hi, I really don't know, sorry!
Hi, well programming the buttons won't affect the immobiliser, no. But you'll need to get a new key coded with a computer to start the car
@@TheCarKeyMan Can't I just keep using the old key to start the car and fob to only lock/unlock it?
@@insufferableoaf6060 it won't affect the immobilizer i was also stressed
Thanks Steve it works perfectly
That's great news Peter, glad it helped :)
Hi, is it a UK car?
Thank you. You are a legend!
You're very welcome Eddie :)

Hi, is it the same way to fix Nissan Primera 2007 fob?
Tried a thousand times but is not working for me, I still getting t'he red car/key simbol when trying t'he second key... Any suggestions?
does this work on just a single key? it’s unpaired itself after the battery has died and i can’t seem to get it working on a 2005 almera
Hi, no you can have more than one key, this proceedure will work the same
Ok this is great but what can I do if the original key was lost?
Simple job for a good Auto Locksmith Chris
Hello, so a 2009 Qashqai doesn't use this method. What country are you in?
@@TheCarKeyMan .Hello I am in Malta.

Strange that they have both stopped working. Change the key batteries and give it a go
I tried it on my nissan tiida latio 2006, it did not work, any other way to reprogram my key? Thanks
Hi, I'm sorry but we don't have that model here in the UK. What year is it?
Hi. Would this work for a Nissan Note 2011? It looks like a similar key being used. If not, is there a sequence for to re-programme the fob of a Nissan Note 2011 (petrol, 1.4L, N-Tec)?
Hi, Usually on a Nissan Note, the buttons will work automatically once the immobiliser chip is coded. Have you changed the key battery?
Thanks for the reply. I purchased a spare original Nissan key and a new key blade. So with the Nissan Note, is it not possible to sync the fob central locking without re-coding the immobiliser chip? (I have purchased a separate transponder chip from an auto locksmith, who added it to my key fob case).
Hi, is it a Uk vehicle
yes
Ok, so with your vehicle, there is not a manual proceedure to code in teh remote. When the immobiiser chip is programmed, the buttons will just automatically work.
Hi, I tried these steps and now non of key work now, so something went wrong. What can I do now plz help? Thx
Hi Richard, did you get it working ?
Thank you! U saved me much heartache

Hi, sorry missed this thread. Can you post the reg?
@@TheCarKeyMando you want full reg or year of truck?
What if the second key can't start the car (needs transponder programming as well), would you then use the fully working key in the very last step to turn on the ignition to stop the coding process?
Hello, no sorry. If you have a new key that does not start the car, then it must be coded in with a computer
Thansk for the tip Berry :)
Hi Steve, I've tried this on my 2003 k12, no luck. Any advice?
Hi, the K12 Mira is a different car altogether. On the K11 and other older Nissan cars, the transponder function is separate to the remote central and this will work.
However the K12 car was one of the first to go over to a combined chip.
This means that when the key is programmed, the buttons will automatically work, there isn't a trick to programme in the buttons.
Has it ever worked?
@@TheCarKeyMan
Thanks for the quick reply.
@@TheCarKeyMan
Thanks again, I'll get the car down to the garage.
last thing, it's common for the button function still to work fine, but the chip function to play up
Thanks, It worked on two key fobs for me.
That's great, glad it worked for you :)
Will the procedure program a spare remote having no transponder chip ?
Hi Ohene, what are yout rying to programme please?

just done my 2005 terrano 2 and it took about 4 attempts to get it right but got there in the end,
also i only have 1 key and when i changed the battery in the key it wouldnt open. maybe try pushing the buttons faster before the indicators flash twice?

Hi Lewis. That's odd. There isn't any need to recode the key. Is the battery in the correct way up?
I have place it with the + side facing down?
It is the key with the buttons on it not a separate fob
I'll check when I get to work
Thanks 👍
It doesnt work with one key though any idea?work
Hello Rakesh, I expect it is the key. If you have two keys and one of them works, then maybe your other key needs testing to see if it is transmitting
Hi on my Nissan almera 2006 1,8 guy washed my car maybe he pressed something wrong. Normally when you unlock you press once and only the driver side will open then when pressed again all doors open including boot. But now if pressed once to open all doors and boot opens. Please help
Hi, sounds like he's changed the mode of the key
How can I fix it please
Anyone know if this works with 2011 Qashqai (J10). I hàve both original keys, one works, one doesn't.
Hi Stevie, no this won't work with a Qashqai. The buttons are automatically programmed whan the chip is coded in. So I would guess there is an issue with the key itself. Hope this helps
@@TheCarKeyMan Ok, thanks.

Great stuff Stefan. Glad to help you :)
Seems my original key doesn’t work. So I cannot program the new one.
Both my keys on nissan qashqai 2011 have suddenly stopped working will this help or not

@@TheCarKeyMan iv just brought a new key with the buttons as a spare key and i thoughts this methods would work but it doesn't
